    Toro sampler (front), salmon sampler
    Lynnette N.

We came in for an early dinner at around 4:30p. The restaurant had just opened so we were the only customers besides a few to-go orders. The restaurant is quite small and parking is limited. We ordered the super salmon sampler, toro sampler, Ryoshin roll, and the super lion king roll. Both the salmon and toro sampler were excellent- delicately flavorful fish served with fresh wasabi. Although the portions were on the smaller side, the quality does make up for it. If you're deciding between the two, I'd go with the salmon sampler. The Ryoshin roll was a bit too "saucey" but again the fish was fresh and we still devoured it, just wouldn't order again. I'd also skip the lion king roll, the scallop was tough and the roll lacked the baked warmth I was expecting. Overall our meal was enjoyable but I wouldn't consider this a "bang for your buck" type of restaurant. Regardless I'd like to return and sample the other nigiri items as they do have quite an extensive menu.

RYOSHIN LITERALLY HAS ME IN A CHOKEHOLD. No matter how many sushi spots I try, Ryoshin will always be my favorite. When I first tried this spot, I was literally so obsessed that we practically dined here every other week. But then reality hit after looking at my bank statement... If I had to choose only one restaurant to eat at forever, I would choose Ryoshin. The quality and freshness is consistent every single time. My mouth salivates whenever I think about it.

This was a cute little spot in Belmont with a large selection of sushi rolls, nigiri/sashimi, and hot dishes. We both ordered the 12-piece nigiri omakase to start. The selection of fish was high quality and each piece was already seasoned so that you do not need to dip it into soy sauce. For $70 and the guaranteed inclusion of uni, we found it to be a good deal. Afterward, we ordered a few additional pieces of nigiri as well as a sushi taco. The sushi taco was a handroll with the nori dipped in tempura batter and fried. It was tasty and different. Kudos to them for the concept! This is a small operation with only 14 seats and only a few people working. They did well to keep up with the service. It's not fast service, but it's alright too. Parking is limited to street parking, so you may need to hunt around for a spot if it's busy. This is a great spot for a casual date night with lots of options to accommodate varied tastes and omakase options that won't break the bank!

Very tight and cute sushi spot. Quality is surprisingly good! Service is friendly and they have limited opening hours. Parking is limited to the street. If you hate being cloisters then this place isn't for you to dine in. Take it to go! :) Thank you!

A small hole in the wall restaurant. Prompt service. Fresh & delicious omakase. Premium quality!

Hamachi toro nigiri, Black Sea bream nigiri, scallop nigiri all very delicious. Fish melted in my mouth. Overall their nigiri are all amazing. Everytime we came quality is very consistent. We also got the dessert on the house.

Small little sushi spot, but cozy and good. If it's busy, takeout is also a good option. Good flavors and fish. I like their RY roll. It's basically a california roll topped with spicy tuna, tobiko, and various sauces. The flavors are excellent together. The tuna is minced which I didn't expect, but a tasty end result!

To go review: chose a local spot for dinner and it was alright. Our rolls were a bit smaller than expected at that price point but I guess that's inflation right? The inside of the restaurant seemed TINY though like the size of a 1 car garage. Anyways, the 49ers roll was decent but I think 3 sake hand rolls would be a better value haha. Food: 7/10 Value: 4/10

THEY ACCOMMODATE FOR GLUTEN ALLERGIES! My choices at sushi restaurants are generally pretty limited, so it was such a wonderful surprise to be able to eat sushi that wasn't just sashimi. They informed me how my dishes would be accommodated, and brought tamari to the table as well! So so incredible; I truly cannot express my delight knowing there's a place with so many more delicious and safe options. My partner and I ordered the Super Salmon Tasting and Toro Tasting to share (adjusted for gluten allergy), as well as an R.Y. Roll for him. We were walked through what each type of fish was in both tastings, all of which were wonderful to try and experience. My partner loved his roll as well! For a small unassuming spot, I didn't have many expectations going in, so I was absolutely blown away by the quality of it all! The fish was so fresh -- nothing smelled or tasted too fishy, the fatty pieces still ate very cleanly, and the pieces were cut and plated beautifully without being overwhelming. The space is a little small, but it makes for a perfect weekday date night spot. All in all, this is my new favorite sushi restaurant in the peninsula for sure; service is wonderful and the food is even better!

This place did not disappoint me. We made reservations for dinner and parking was so easy. We knew exactly what we wanted. The Omakase! The place is actually pretty small. I didn't know it was that small which i felt we can hear all the other conversations in the other tables. Let me start the order of the first 4 nigiris, each set of nigiris came out on a different plate. I liked the plates as they looked really pretty. The first set had the kanpachi-Japan, Kurodai- Europe, iwana-Canada, and hirame kombuijme(flounder-Korea). These first 4 literally melted in my mouth esp the Iwana! You can never go wrong with Kanpachi and kurodai, it lived up to it's standards. The next four that came out were the Hamachi Toro-(Canada), Umi Masu- (Scotland), Madai-(Japan) and Shima Aji (Japan). These four were just as amazing! Out of these four my favorite was the Madai. It was marinated very well. The flavors combo was so good. To my surprise the next dishes that came out had uni! Uni (Japan), something i can't remember, Hotate, Zuke sake Toro (Canada). Based on these nigiris you know you hit the jackpot. Of course my favorite was the uni, followed by the hotate, and Zuke Sake Toro and finally the something i can't remember. The final five had what I think is a tuna fish, Chu toro, King sake Toro, hamachi toro and sake toro. These were all so good, the sake toro was my favorite. In addition, we ordered the Uni Hotate and the Engawa. These two i can eat every single day. The Engawa, literally melted in my mouth. I wish i didn't have to share the two pieces. It was so amazing, i started to look for it everywhere i sent since. I will def come back here !

Since friends recommended it, we meant to try this small sushi bar for a long time and it didn't disappoint. This is a really small place with maybe six tables or so. They also have some outdoor seating alongside the building's front. So make a reservation, order out, or time your visit well. We chose a dish from the seasonal rolls, the fusion rolls, and handrolls. Everything was fresh and with distinct wonderful flavors (and not drowned out by flavored mayo, sesame oil etc). You pay for good quality dishes - although I think nothing we had was overpriced. We enjoyed hot tea with our meal and left happy, satisfied and with the intention to return and try many more dishes from the extensive menu.

AMAZING!! My husband is a long time customer from years ago and brought me here for the first time! The sushi is incredible. Very tasty and the correct portion size. The service here was great - our server was very friendly and when we asked about anything she'd recommend, she gave us great choices! A cute cozy spot for a date night or to go out with friends. We will be back soon!

this unassuming lil sushi restaurant was so good! we had 2 sushi boxes (yellowtail&salmon sashimi/spicy tuna roll and salmon&albacore sashimi/ca roll), belmont roll, and seared salmon/scallop oshizushi. YUM!! fish quality was so good and everything was delicious...it even came with miso soup + mango dessert at the end. staff was nice and quick too! one of my new fave spots in the bay

No "excuse me" just a direct "are you recording?" And without giving my friend a chance to explain that he wasn't (he is just a heavy Pokémon Goer), the server went on "no recording is allowed. You can't do that" Blah blah. There are clearly better and more professional ways to handle this. And assuming customers at fault is not. We ordered two hot plates and two Kaisen don at $60 each. Hot plates are good. Kaisen don is very sad. That's the least fresh toro and uni I have ever had. My friend is not used to complaining, but I decided not to swallow it. After some back and forth, they offered to replace the toro and uni. Although it's an okay gesture, my friend was not offered the replacement-- not even asking, while we ordered the same set. The replacement didn't come with the average freshness I have experienced, but better than the original. Then we started to look at google reviews, only to find out that the ikura included in the don was completely missing. It was offered after we complained. But again, no apologies. For an expensive item with clear description of the content in the menu, I don't know if it's a mistake or not. Btw, our Kaisen don doesn't look like their official picture at all.

We really recommend checking out their off menu items (they will hand you a hand-written note when you get there) because the chef is just clearly so talented. It wasn't fishy or difficult to eat at all, but incredibly rich and creamy. I'm obsessed!!! * Otoro (off menu): This was the star. The tuna belly was pure umami, super fatty, buttery, and literally melted the second it hit my tongue - really recommend ordering this one * Lobster Roll (off menu): As a girl who's on calories deficit, my body screams for help when I found out it had shrimp tempura (I tried to avoid fried food), but this roll was so damnnnnn savory! It's made of lobster, shrimp tempura and a combo of eel sauce, spicy mayo, and tobiko - no need anymore dipping sauce cause they were just phenomenal * Kaisen: This was a refreshing roll - made of tuna, salmon, hamachi (yellowtail), and white tuna. Shiso (perilla) really enhanced the flavor of the fish and brought fresh taste that I think is the best pairing for any sushi/sashimi dish * Woodside Roll: This was the only miss for us. It uses minced spicy tuna, which honestly ruined the texture and flavor of the fish. We prefer tasting the real meat rather than a mash :( Overall, we like everything that we order, and our bill came out at around $100 for all that we had (budget friendlyyyyy) and we were really satisfied with the sushi quality.
