Dr. Sinnarajah is an absolute saint! Two years ago when my son was 7 he knocked out his 2 adult front teeth and Dr. Sinnarajah did a phenomenal job repairing them. As luck would have it, my 11 year old knocked out 1 of his adult front teeth while we were on vacation a few weeks ago. We were across the country and Dr. Sinnarajah called a colleague and had him seen as an emergency to protect his nerve root. We've been going to Dr. Chu since 2015. At that time, my daughter, who refused to drink water unless it was mixed with apple juice, had seven cavities and a root canal. The first dentist we took her to was unable to get x-rays to see how severe the cavities were and said we could just drill inside to see how bad they were, to my utter disbelief! After running far away from that dentist, we found Dr. Chu through a college friend of mine who went to Columbia Dentistry. She was an orthodontist and she said that, besides her pediatric dentist husband, Dr. Chu was the one she would trust the most with her own kids. Even though it was at least a 45 min drive for us, we took her there and they got the x-rays done! He also did an amazing job fixing her cavities and she hasn't had a cavity since then! He also put on sealants on my son to prevent him from getting cavities and they worked great - no cavities for him either! Recently, we had to see a local dentist because our appt. was postponed at Dr. Chu and it just reminded us how much we SHOULD NOT think about changing dentists, even if it is to save driving time. The dentist could barely clean my son's teeth and gave up on x-rays for him within a few min of trying. Fast forward a few weeks later, Dr. Chu and his staff were able to get x-rays on both my kids in less than 20 min, at the same time! Dr. Chu is not only a great dentist, but he employs the best staff! The woman who x-rayed my son patiently and effectively convinced him to take all his bitewings. I was going to give up even before the first bitewing, but she persevered and even though the first one took a bit of time, he breezed through the rest. Dr. Chu truly cares about his patients and about teaching parents how to help guide their kids to take the best care of their teeth! If you live in Rye, there is nobody else you should go see! If you live within a 30 min drive, you should still make the trip! If you have a difficult child, even if you are 45 min to 1 hour away, you should go to him! P.S. There is a convenient parking lot, lots of kids' books, and rotating prizes in the treasure box as well as, special prizes in his office. The office is also super clean and well decorated. read more

I have a 5 year old by the name of Tristan, my son has teeth that are a special case. I was truly impressed with Dr. Chu from the moment he met my son at 1 years old and right off the back he knew what my son's case was with his teeth. As a mother having the same teeth issue as my son, I am soo greatful to have found such a great Dr that knows so much about our condition and cares soo much about making sure that we understand what's going on inside his ( my son's ) little mouth. My six year old daughter is a patient of Dr. Sinnarajah's and I can't say enough great things about her. My daughter was traumatized by her prior pediatric dentist, and Dr. Sinnarajah was able to overcome my daughter's fear of the dentist, and also replace some of the cracked fillings that were done by the other office. Dr. Chu is the absolute best, and I would recommend anyone to him! He was absolutely amazing with my daughter, making her comfortable in his office as well as in the OR. He took his time to explain the procedures to us, making us feel comfortable as well. His staff is amazing as well, my daughter absolutely loves going to the dentist, and every one of the girls know her by name, and all take time to speak with her. Over the years I've had to change dentists for my kids a few times. It was either a bad experience with the dentist, bad customer service, or the ever fun billing problems. I'm happy to say that journey has ended. Coming to Rye Pediatric Dentistry and Dr. Chu turned out to be the best thing for my kids. The entire experience is wonderful from the second you walk in until the moment you leave. I was pessimistic when I walked in the first time, since I've had several bad experiences with the other dentists. But I couldn't have been more wrong! When we walked in, we were immediately greeted with a friendly hello. Within minutes we were greeted by Dr. Chu and escorted into the exam room. With two children, Dr. Chu was like an orchestra conductor giving direction to his assistants so he could seamlessly move between both kids. It wasn't hectic or overwhelming either, it was fluid and precise. The kids were relaxed and Dr. Chu was wonderful when explaining things to them (and me). When we were done he made sure that we had every question answered and that we were happy. The billing portion was handled just as well, with the staff speaking to us about what our insurance covered and what they didn't. So no surprises! I can tell you that even with an hour drive to get there it's a no brainer for me and my family. My only regret is not finding them sooner. read more

Took all three of my kids (6,4, & 3) to Rye Pediatric Dentistry and it was an absolutely spectacular experience. My kids met Dr. Narm and she was truly wonderful. She spent a time with each child without rushing, and asked them how they've been taking care of their teeth. She was so friendly and the kids treated the visit like it was a carnival rather than another doctors' visit. After my kids' first checkup was complete, the staff took care of the kids while I had a one-on-one consultation on each child's dental case. Dr. Narm was highly informative and told me what we can do to promote the kids' dental hygiene going forward. I was amazed how much fun a trip to a dentists' office can be! I could not say enough about Dr. Chu and the staff at Rye Pediatric Dentistry! This was by far the best experience and encounter we had with a dentist. We were referred to Dr. Chu for my 18 month old who had continuous dental problems with his front teeth since his teeth first came in. His previous dentist had no permanent solutions and would just monitor on a three month basis. Dr. Chu was very informative and provided us with solutions. My husband had to bring my son to one of the appointments that I could not attend and Dr. Chu FaceTime me during the appointment. We were so happy with the overall experience, we had our older son (5 years old) become a patient. Our older son needed dental work since he was 2. We saw several dentist and nothing was done due to lack of cooperation and behaviors. We were told by several dentist "let's try again in 3 months" for almost three years! As time passed, his teeth became worse and it seemed like there was little progress. During the initial exam with Dr. Chu, he established a quick bond with my son through positive reinforcement, great interaction and a wealth of knowledge about children's interests. My son even went into the back by himself and completed an exam and cleaning without any difficulties! When we got home, my son asked if we can go back to Dr. Chu tomorrow ( that never happened before - I usually would hear 'I hate the dentist. I am never going back' while engaging in a tantrum). He was eager for his next appointment, he brought in some FNAF toys to show Dr. Chu. During the next visit when the procedures were being completed, I was almost in tears. I couldn't believe what I was seeing- my son was completely cooperative. All dental work was completed during one session because his behaviors were amazing!!! The staff reinforced all appropriate behaviors throughout the visits (even in the front office) with stickers, preferred videos, praise and minecraft toys! Dr. Chu has a great skill of building a positive relationship with the child before they even sit in the dental chair. It shows that he is compassionate and caring when he placed a follow up phone call in the evening to see how my son was doing. Billing and appointments were completed without any difficulty. Office staff did a great job working with insurance companies to make sure everything was approved. My only regret is that we didn't go to Rye Pediatric Dentistry earlier - we could have avoided wasting so much time, money, stress, anxiety and fixed the problems right in the beginning before it got worse. Rye Pediatric Dentistry is a good fit for my children. I wish there were clones of Dr. Chu and his behavioral methodologies for other pediatric medical professional areas. My kids love Dr. Chu. The office is very sleek and modern. The office staff is always friendly-its super easy to make appointments through email. Dr. Chu is amazing with kids. He greets us every time with a big stuffed Nemo that has teeth. My kids (2 and 5) love it. My daughter was always scared at our old dentist and now she gets excited when I tell her its time to go. Dr. Chu and the entire staff of Rye Pediatric Dentistry are amazing. My son has some issues with anxiety and had a very difficult time with having cavities filled by our family dentist, the vibration of the tools stressed him out and made for a very long and stressful experience, so our family dentist recommended Dr. Chu. From the first appointment through the next my son's anxiety about getting cavities filled have been changed for the better. Dr. Chu called me personally before the first appointment so he could get an idea of my son's issues, previous dental experiences, and even about what activities and characters he likes, which was extremely helpful. They took my son in and first showed him how to correctly brush his teeth, they offered him movies (Lego Ninjago and lots of other kid friendly options) to watch during the procedure and constantly praised him for his good behavior (the praise worked more to induce good behavior and calm) and gave him "extra" prizes for being so good. Everything about the experience was calming and positive. My son left the office every time feeling good about himself and never afraid or worried about returning.
