Garage must be a favorite.. many cars waiting to be worked on always.. drive by daily.. ran over something on highway.. tire was losing air but was able to get there.. was good place to stop.. understood would not be serviced because of how crowded it was... Made sure my car was out of the way and not blocking anything... in the back... Said I couldn't put my spare tire on car and to drive my car next-door parking lot... Excellent service. Appointment was scheduled for 10:30 for an oil change and inspection. They evaluated my vehicle and recommended a tire rotation which I definitely needed. It was only 30 bucks extra. My car was done in a little over an hour. The front desk person was friendly and helpful in explaining everything. I also noticed how professional they were between each other- which is Important too. Great experience. If you plan on waiting for your car- which I did- bring a drink/coffee with you. They don't have any place within walking distance to get one. read more

My dad is an auto mechanic, but he lives across the country. So I know more than the average person about cars and hate it when I take my car to a new mechanic, because I'm often treated like I don't know anything as a blonde woman. Not here. From the moment I walked in, Hector treated me with the utmost respect. We recently moved to New York, so it was my first time taking my car to Hector, and wow, all the reviews here are spot on--he's honest and forthcoming/ up front about everything, no hidden fees or agendas. I arrived early, right when he opened, and a young man (who might be his son or a nephew) was sweeping the floors--and even he was very kind to me--I love it when you can see a strong work ethic being passed down between generations. After an initial service, my car needed some unique parts ordered and additional service needed, so I've been back a couple of times in the last few months and each time, Hector has been incredible to work with. What an awesome place. I was driving home from a holiday visit, Two hours from home when 95 struck and gave me a flat tire. I phoned the auto center who was closing in five minutes. He was so apologetic for not having tires. He told me to come by and put my spare tire on for me. He helped me find a place that had a tire for me! So very kind! What a great find in my time of need! hector and his team are very fair ,transparent and up front while assessing repairs and the costs attached. hector showed me what the replacement parts cost directly from the dealership and their labor rates added are extremely fair as well. This is all you pay. they stay true to their word, they had the car ready the exact day and time I was told. my family is also in the automotive industry, so I am familiar how repairs are calculated , parts vs labor. Right on cue, Rye Auto answered my text, showed up, gave me a jump, followed me to the shop and gave me a ride back home. These folks made my day. I ran over a giant rock on 95, and I limped off the highway with my car making scary noises. I was a couple of hours from home and was nervous that I was going to be stuck there. They took my car right away, checked it out, made a small fix, and sent me on my way. Very professional, quick, and helpful. While I was waiting, an elderly lady came in and asked for someone to check her tires. One of the employees went right out and filled them up with air. I just moved to the area and needed to find an auto repair place quickly, when my wiper blade broke and my front headlamp all went out this morning. Rye Auto Care was in the nearby area and they were able to get me the replacement parts that I needed and do the install on the spot. What's awesome about this place is, the mechanic replaced the items I asked for, but then gave the car a full look over at no charge. We have had some pretty harsh weather up here, so I let him do his thing. Sure enough, my battery was nearly dead and I was in need of an oil change. The mechanic gave me a great price on everything and did a great job of completing the work quickly, while I waited in the Lobby. Rye Auto Care has a very clean facility and great mechanics that care about you and your vehicle. I will definitely be bringing my car here again when needed. read more

Hector and his crew are the best. They do not overcharge. He'll talk to you if there's a problem with your car and it is up to you to have the repair be done there or you have the option to go to your regular mechanic. I was only there for my oil change and car inspection. Good guy! read more
