Excellent service! I pulled in with a flat tire on my camper and was greeted right away. The staff quickly offered to help and had me back on the road in no time. Friendly, fast, and professional. Highly recommend! read more

The team here is great . They back up their work & are always a fair price. I have gone to them for years . A pleasure.

I needed service on a Saturday morning and didn't have an appointment. To complicate matters further, I wasn't familiar with where to go as I was visiting from out of town. So, I chose Rye Shell mostly out of desperation. I was relieved when Abe answered the phone. He was very frienbly and said they could accommodate me. As soon as I arrived, Jason started to investigate the situation - a burning smell and the heater not working. Despite being super busy, he spent well over an hour troubleshooting...and was successful. I'm so grateful for the help he provided. And the price was very reasonable. I am very satisfied and would strongly recommend getting your car serviced here. read more

I have been bringing my car here for years because Jason and his crew are simply the best. Any car issue I've had, big or small, they've been able to fix and are responsive, honest and very reasonably priced. I HIGHLY recommend them. read more

I have never been urged to want to write a Yelp review until now. The service and help that Jason offered at his body shop was amazing and I can't thank them enough. I accidentally filled my car with diesel fuel rather than regular and so my car wouldn't start. I towed it to this location at 3am and called first thing in the morning. Jason told me he most likely wouldn't be able to finish because he would need several parts and flushing the car out would take all day. I called several mechanics nearby and they all told me that this was not a "one day job." As someone who doesn't even live in New York, I needed my car to be fixed ASAP and I needed to get to work by tomorrow. I explained my situation to Jason and he immediately took my car in as soon as I got to the shop with my keys and started taking a look at it. Within several hours, Jason and his team were able to fix it.... for more than $500 less than what I was expecting (online quotes). All morning, he kept me updated with a new status as I waited and I watched him call all different vendors to make sure to get the best price on parts in the case my car needed it. He really went above and beyond and I can't be any more grateful! read more

They are amazing there, professional, knowledgeable, honest, courteous & efficient. I have an old CRV that Honda couldn't fix correctly & Shell fixed that. I have a Volvo XC 90 that they repair in no time. read more

I came here to get a state inspection and have my brakes checked out on my 2002 Toyota RAV4. The manager+mechanics were able to find the source of the noise, which was caused by debris buildup in the rear rotors. The price for the state inspection (which passed)/1 light bulb replacement/break checkup+lubrication all included was very reasonable (~$70). I appreciated that they also told me the price before doing the work, in case I didn't want to follow through with it. The manager was very honest and also gave me a few heads up on some parts that were starting to look bad. I will definitely be going back! FYI, I previously went to the Toyota dealership in Mamaroneck and they wanted to charge me some ridiculous amount ($300+) to get several of my lights (1 head light+2 fog lights+license plate light+1 tail light) replaced for the state inspection. I just went to a local AutoZone and did the replacements myself for less than $70 (although I did forget to replace 1 light bulb). The mechanic at the dealership suggested I also get my catalytic converter replaced, because it was apparently more than 25 years old (which would make no sense since my car was purchased in 2002). Needless to say, I will never be going back to that dealership. read more

Jason and his crew are the best...very fair pricing and always excellent service!

A friend sent me to the mechanic there, Jason. They said he was really honest and would do a great job. I have to say, they were right (hey, as far as I know!) He was nice - didn't rush me like a lot of mechanics - and didn't make up fake things that were wrong with my car. He charged a fair price. You may be surprised to find an honest, affordable mechanic in mega-expensive Rye, but here he is! read more

Jason and his crew are the absolute best! They take care of all our cars, always professional, fair and honest. And they always accommodate our schedules. Can't say enough positive things. Only place we will ever go for our cars. We are so appreciative of their excellent service!! read more

These guys are fantastic. We've taken our cars there for everything from oil changes, NYS inspections, rim repairs, flat tires, you name it. We've had BMWs, Range Rovers, Mercedes, a Ford and a Jeep and prefer Jason's shop over the dealers. Great service, competitive prices, on time, regular communication. Jason and his team are top notch. read more

We have brought various makes of cars here over a span of more than 20 years. Jason and his crew are thorough, honest, reliable and pleasant. There's no drama - just really good service that is fairly priced. read more

Very happy with the work done by Jason. All straight forward, very clear, nice guy. I can be a difficult customer - but that was not an issue all. I ask a lot of questions and Jason was honest in what he could do or not do. I don't think you can ask for more than that! read more

Don't be fooled by their high gas prices! The shop is very competent and reasonably priced. They have performed several repairs for me and I was happy on every occasion. They pointed out some additional problems on one visit but didn't attempt a hard line up sell. read more

I've worked in Rye for nearly 10 years and this is the best place to bring your car. Jason and his team are the best. They're very helpful, friendly, honest, and informative. Took my RAV4 here after the alternator died and Jason took care of us. I had such a wonderful experience here and would recommend this shop to everyone. I've had nightmares at other shops and Jason made this repair so easy and stress free. I had issues getting the car towed and they still managed to get my car back to me super fast. This will definitely be my go to repair center if needed. Great place !!!! read more

This place is great! My older car had been sitting for a year and they helped me get it back into working order. They are always friendly and helpful on the phone. They are honest and never try to over sell me. They get the job done in the time they say and try hard to fit you in. I always feel comfortable walking into the shop because everyone who works there is respectful. Also, super location next to the train station. read more

Just called in to get an estimate for a service done on my car. Whoever picks up the phone here needs a lesson in phone etiquette and customer service. He didn't want to give me basic information for a simple service and got up tight when I asked for a price. I also came in to get my car's NYS inspection renewed earlier this year. Not only are they over priced, the guy in charge, which I am assuming is the same person who answers the phone, is incredibly rude and seems to always be in a pissy mood. Makes sense that they are the same person. I would avoid this mechanic at all costs. read more

Jason at Rye Shell Auto in Rye, NY has never not been there for me.. He and his staff are excellent at what they do. Jason is a joy to do business with, he make me feel like family. Everyone should experience the kind of love for there auto mechanic as I do. read more

I read the positive posts and felt I had to counter. I brought my car in for an inspection and Jason provided me with a laundry list of reasons the car would fail. We are talking thousands of dollars of issues. I took the car to Mavis in Port Chester the next day for a second opinion and the car passed inspection with no problems. I have taken my car to Rye Shell in the past because it was very close to the Rye Train Station. They know this and I believe they take advantage of those who have minimal knowledge of cars. If you go to have your brakes done, they will try to upsell you to have all the brake fluid drained for $125 more. Have owned cars for 40 years and no one ever pulled that stunt before. My suggestion, take Jason's quote and get a second opinion elsewhere read more
