A Ruined Wedding Day and Zero Accountability
I rented from Ride Out Slingshot Rentals for a wedding -- a once-in-a-lifetime occasion where appearance matters. What I got was a vehicle so poorly maintained it actively coated passengers in dirt and soot while driving. By the time we arrived, our clothes were visibly soiled and our wedding photos were ruined. Not a minor inconvenience. A permanent record of a day that cannot be repeated.
We returned the vehicle early. Not by abandonment -- the company coordinated the pickup themselves because the slingshot was undrivable for anyone who cared about arriving presentable.
Here is where this goes from disappointing to genuinely troubling: during the rental, I found the owner Veron's wallet inside the vehicle and returned it immediately, in good faith. That act of honesty was met with complete indifference when I later requested either dry cleaning reimbursement or a partial refund -- 50%, which reflects the early return alone. Veron did not facilitate either. He also stopped returning phone calls.
Think about that. A customer who could have done otherwise chose to do the right thing. The owner could not extend the same courtesy in return.
There is no mechanical failure excuse here, no miscommunication, no gray area. The vehicle was dirty before we ever got in. The damage to our clothing and photos is documented. The response from ownership was silence.
If you are planning a special event, a date, or anything where your appearance matters, do yourself a favor: find a rental company that actually maintains their fleet and stands behind their service. This is not it. Look elsewhere. read more
