We can't thank Ryan enough for the amazing work he did on our engagement and wedding photos. We got married in a little town in the Russian River Valley but live in Southern California. We were nervous when booking someone since we wouldn't able to meet them in person. Ryan jumped on a call with us and asked us a number of questions to get to know us and made us feel comfortable. He set up an engagement session for us in Oakland which turned out amazing. I am extremely pleased with Ryan Sin's work. He did my engagement photos and I loved them so much I had him do my wedding photos, too. He accepted my input, got the photos I requested, and gave us plenty of beautiful photos and perspectives I wouldn't have thought of. His turnaround time was also very reasonable. For the engagement photos, we got the fully edited album within 2 months (VERY reasonable considering we took over a thousand photos at 3 locations). For our wedding photos, we got a "sneak peek" by the end of the SAME DAY as the wedding! And we got our full album within 2 months (again, over a thousand photos taken), even though he was booked with other clients, too. The best part was that I felt listened to and he took all my suggestions, even when they were probably silly (like when I wanted a picture of the groomsmen's socks), and Ryan gave us direction when we wanted/needed it. Our portraits turned out beautiful, the candid photos turned out beautiful, and I've gotten so many compliments on my engagement and wedding photos. Ryan also took many 'standard' wedding photos that I had completely forgotten about: the bouquets, the shoes, the venues, the venues in a new perspective, etc. He genuinely captured the feel of both the church and the restaurant, and I couldn't be more pleased. Ryan also provided higher resolution photos when I requested it, at no additional charge for us (maybe because we were repeat customers? I don't know if that's why, but I am not complaining!). Two years ago when my husband and I were planning our wedding, we looked into photographers. Being poor students we didn't want to pay thousands so we thought we would try out Ryan for engagement photos. We loved them! And quickly got him to agree to do our wedding. We got a photobook of our special day that was so accurate that it's easy to vividly recall how wonderful the day was. We totally trusted his artistic vision and were so happy with the results. Ryan is a truly incredible photographer. He took our wedding photos and we are so blown away by the results. He went with the flow through our fairly chaotic, DIY wedding and was able to direct himself and do his thing. We are both pretty unaccustomed to having our photo taken, but he directed us really well and made us feel at ease. He took tons of candid shots, which is exactly the style we wanted, and managed to catch so many moments without being in the way. I should also mention that it poured rain the entire day, which made many of our potential shooting locations not doable, but Ryan got there early to scout locations and found some really unique spots to shoot. He got himself pretty wet in order to achieve some of them -- I will forever remember him standing on a chair in the rain in order to get portraits of us in the beautiful covered patio under string lights. His patience and tenacity were really appreciated, and the results are just stunning. He's also just an awesome, laid back, friendly guy, and meshed really well with all our friends and family. Where do I begin......Ryan is a nice individual, however I must say he has problems listening to what the customer wants. We hired Ryan Sin as our wedding photographer. Since our consultation, I tried telling him what we wanted and expected from our wedding photos and throughout the conversation he immediately started telling us what we will be doing, so I had a bad feeling about him from the beginning, but because his prices were super cheap compared to other wedding photographers we decided to go through with him. I KNOW I KNOW... YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET FOR. Long story short, 3 months pass and we still havent received our copies of our photos or our custom album that we paid extra for, for $200. I contact him several times and he tells us excuse after excuse that hes too busy with teaching and other things.. yada yada yada... I contact him weeks later one last time and he tells me that his equipment has been stolen. REALLY? To top it off, I finally accessed our photos through his website and seen that there are NO portrait style photos of my husband and I!!! Really?? Wedding photos with no solo of the bride and groom????? RIDICULOUS... 3 MONTHS LATER, We finally told him to send our copies and give us a partial refund!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! read more

Ryan recently captured a very special weekend for me and my husband Colin - and he did so perfectly. A good friend of ours shot our engagement photos and referred us to Ryan to shoot our wedding. Upon meeting Ryan I knew he would be a great fit - he was calm, collected, professional, and genuinely interested in getting to know me and Colin as a couple. Ryan was such a delight to work with from beginning to end. In fact there has not necessarily been a concrete end as I still follow his beautiful photography and keep connected. My husband and I had a very small budget for our wedding and were overwhelmed with how many people said getting a "good" photographer was essential in creating lasting memories. Therefore a majority of our spending was recommended to be put into photographing our big day--and boy, was everyone completely right! When we first met with Ryan he felt like a peer, the type of person who would probably be in my husband and I's existing community if our paths had naturally crossed. In addition to being very approachable and humble, Ryan is an incredible artist and has a way of telling the story of your wedding day through his photographs. We immediately booked Ryan (who was completely reasonably priced for the quality of work he produces)--even changed our date to accommodate his schedule! Contracts and communication prior to our big day was smooth, clear, and effortless. Ryan encouraged us to do an engagement session, as it came with the package, however we declined because we're both a bit camera shy. He persisted in naming that it could be helpful not because we were missing out on something we had paid for, but because it would help ease us into being photographed, which could be especially helpful when we may be more nervous and full of emotion on our wedding day. I think this demonstrates his earnestness in his work and his ultimate goal of supporting the people he is working with. At our wedding he was both blending in with the background and also jumping around with us in the jumpy house we rented. Because he had already scoped out the venue prior to our date he knew exactly where to take us and made us and our wedding party feel at ease. In reviewing the photo's my husband and I cried and laughed--they are incredible. He caught both the intimacy and the overall feel of the wedding better than we could have imagined.
