Simone was super easy to work with and we would 100% recommend her. Interestingly, I found her work via Yelp but it was actually through a Yelp review on the wedding venue that my husband and I were researching. Simone had photographed another couple's wedding at one of the venue's two sites, loved her work and contacted her to see if she would be available. Since being referred to Simone by a very satisfied friend we have had two fantastic sessions. First our wedding and second our maternity shoot five years later. Simone photographed my wedding beautifully. When I was first looking for wedding photographers, I wanted someone who could capture people looking natural as well as highlight the venue surroundings. My wedding was along the ocean cliffside of northern california so I wanted someone who could highlight the gorgeous backdrop and was comfortable photographing nature. Where do I even begin? I'd first like to say how incredibly lucky we were to find Simone, I didn't know it was possible to find such a nice, talented, and amazing photographer. We found Simone while searching through beautiful wedding photography of San Francisco City Hall, our chosen venue. I immediately fell in love with her portfolio and reached out to her. Picking the right photographer is so important because you spend more time with them than anyone else on your wedding day. I can't imagine anyone more fun - or organized - to work with than Simone. We wanted the perfect wedding and the perfect photographer to capture all of it for us. After looking at many online portfolios, we saw Simone's and immediately felt that we had found our photographer. Our feelings were confirmed during our in-person meeting with her. Not only does Simone have a beautiful photographic style that we love and a warm and cheerful personality, she also really knows weddings inside and out. She asked us questions that helped us think about all the aspects of planning our wedding. Although our ceremony was more than six months away, we decided right then to sign our contract with her. The next few months we had many email exchanges that were all very helpful. Simone was really on top of things, proactively asking us about our big day rather than the other way around. We talked about our wedding time line, the major photo sets we'd like, which relatives and friends should have photos taken together, and similar details. We felt blessed to have had such a wonderful wedding and we were off on our honeymoon two weeks later. Simone shot our wedding two months ago. She did a fantastic job and was a joy to have as a resource during the wedding planning period! We booked Simone for a family photo shoot. 2 adults and a super jet-lagged grumpy 8 month old baby! She was super accommodating with the time and location, and had a lot of great suggestions. We wanted an outdoor location and she had lots of places to choose from, all of which were convenient to where we were staying. She also suggested we bring a blanket, snacks, etc - which came in useful during our shoot. We were visiting family in SF (we live in Shanghai) and she offered to mail our CD internationally to Shanghai. I was a little suspicious about all the positive reviews on Yelp (can't help being a pessimist), but am happy to report that she was easy going, flexible and the photos turned out beautifully. She was really patient and we never felt rushed or awkward. She had a lot of suggestions for helping us "pose", which I think were just designed to help us relax so she could capture the moments. She told us when she thought she had enough good shots and we trusted her judgement. One thing that I really liked was she took individual photos of my husband and I, which never occurred to me to take bc it seems so cheesy - and who needs individual portraits? We were just focused on taking some family photos. They turned out really nice and guess what - individual portraits are actually more useful than I thought! No more cropping out all the other heads to get a good photo of yourself! She's also just a super sweet person. She called us before the scheduled shoot to make sure we had directions...and like an idiot, I thought we could find the place. I had to call her back 10 minutes later, lost in the hills, hahah! I wish I could give a million stars! Simone photographed our engagement and wedding and was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. She was easy to communicate with when arranging logistics and always responded quickly. She has a wonderful way of putting people at ease and lightening the mood. If there are any nerves or tensions, her contagious laugh will quickly ease them! It feels like having an old friend there who happens to be taking photos. She even bustled my dress for me! Simone showed up early on our wedding day and got all of the shots I wanted without ever getting in the way or being obtrusive. Her photography told the story of our big day- from the meaningful little moments to the overall vibe- without ever looking staged or cliche. She is incredibly dedicated to getting the right shot, even if it means clearing trash from the bushes in the corner of the frame or picking tiny sticks out of the bottom of your dress. Another advantage is her curation of the photos. You don't get bombarded by a million pictures of your wedding that you then have to sort through. Instead, she assembles an album of her favorites and then a larger pool separated by stages of the day (getting ready, ceremony, reception, etc). After doing HOURS of research online for a photographer to take my graduation photos, I stumbled upon Simone's blog and fell in love with her photography style. I knew I wanted my photos to look natural, not super photoshopped-- and Simone's gift of working with natural light made my photos (and me!) look phenomenal. I seriously could not have been more thrilled with the results and I'm a very critical person! For graduation/senior photos, the session runs about 45 minutes-ish for photos in one outfit + cap&gown. However, what separates Simone from other photographers is how accommodating she is to your individual needs. We communicated over e-mail about which locations on UC Berkeley campus I wanted to have my photos taken, and she generously worked past our 45-minute session so that we could hit each spot. I hired Simone to take family photos as a Mother's Day present for my mom and mother-in-law and I cannot say enough how happy I was with what we received back from Simone. She has an eye for lighting and caught so many sweet moments that I know our families will treasure for a long time.
