Absolutely the worst experience of my life. I was nervous and shaking. I told him I'd never seen a psychiatrist and I was nervous. I told him about my current situation, my uncertain future, my current state of mind and the severe panic attacks. He asked me if I do recreational drugs or drink alcohol. I told him I've never abused drugs in my life and rarely drink. He treated me like a drug seeker telling me he could look me up on the DEA, which I said fine, go ahead. I asked him how I deal with my extreme panic attacks and his advice was to go home and lay down. That's it? Seriously? I was dismissed, treated poorly with absolutely ZERO empathy for my current state of mind. I wish I could give zero stars. The one star could go to Candice at the front desk. During treatment, it was discovered that Chris Massman maintained a pre-existing, undisclosed close personal friendship with the client's family members while concurrently acting as the primary clinician. In the state of California, this is a severe violation of professional ethics regarding 'Dual Relationships.' Failing to disclose such a conflict of interest is a breach of informed consent and patient trust. It appeared that private clinical information was shared with those personal ties rather than serving the patient's therapeutic interests. I have been to multiple rehabs and multiple detoxes and always ended up back in active addiction. I was referred to PCI as an outpatient service from a detox I had attended. I was able to get group therapy, one on one sessions with a therapist I grew to trust and was prescribed medication that was right for me at that time. Since completing the IOP course at PCI. I am almost 10 months sober. Most time I have ever had, and seems to come almost effortless at this point. I am forever appreciative of Dr. Miriam and Dr. Patrick and the entire staff of PCI.
