We filed a small claim case against RV1. We hired Brian Johnson (doing business as RV1) for an air conditioner issue and a water pump replacement. During testimony he admitted in Beaufort County Magistrate Court that he had sold our AC unit that belonged to us while it was in his possession. He also acknowledged that he installed one brand of water pump yet submitted to our warranty company that he had installed the Newmar recommended brand. The non-recommend water pump failed after approximately 3.5 months. We pursued the matter through the court and were awarded a judgment in March 2026. The judge ordered payment to us within 30 days, which he has not made as of the date of this review. I am sharing this to help others make informed decisions. I recommend documenting all agreements and verifying parts and warranty submissions carefully. read more

Brain replace An a/c for me on the back end of my camper when he was done I called him back about a hour after he left because it was tripping my breaker just to let you know the breaker never trip until he had put the new unit in. so u called him and brain told me it was nothing that he did and he would come back out for an additional $150. Service call and $125 an hour even thought he was the one that did the work in the first place. come to find out I had to get another text to see what the problem was and then I found out my roof was leaking because the until was installed haft fast and he put the wrong controll box in. I called Brian with RV1 for a problem I was having with my motorhome slide out. It took a couple of days for him to arrive, but he immediately diagnosed the issue and reprogrammed the slide out controller. He also fixed a couple of other items. We are amateur RV'ers and had problems coming down the road with our air conditioning and then our water heater was not firing (LP)... Brian at RV1 in Hilton Head Island/Bluffton SC is not the person to call for repairs. I called him for a repair on Monday 3/20. Told him about the problem and sent him a video of it. He strung me along for 4 days and never came. I'm in the building business and know when trades are blowing smoke up my butt. If he had told me that he wasn't going to make repairs instead of dragging it out I could have found somebody else. BOTTOM LINE, avoid Brian at RV1. read more

While staying in a Motorhome Resort in Hilton Head, SC in February, we experienced a leak in our coach's icemaker. RV 1 was at the next site working on our neighbor's vent fan. When they had finished with our neighbor they came over to our coach and asked if they could help. I explained it would be a warranty issue and we would take it to our dealer back in PA when we returned home. RV1 took the time to show us where the leak was and how the freezing weather had caused it. I hope I don't need the service of an RV technician while enjoying the warmth of Hilton Head but, if I do I would not hesitate calling RV1. read more

On Good Friday, after an 8 hour drive, we got to our campsite and realized our air conditioning was not working on our travel trailer. We called RV1 and he presented several options to us. Since we were headed from Hardeeville, SC down to south Florida the next day and had two dogs we needed to keep cool, we asked him to install a unit he had in stock. He came out that night, probably just an hour or so after we called him, and installed the unit within a few minutes. It has worked well for us. We felt he was reasonable, as well.
