The coffee was strong and the view of Teatro Massimo was great :) Will have to try their pastries and their Marocchino coffee next. They have a full service bar in the evenings too. EDIT: Just tried their Marocchino and this is now our favorite espresso drink! This was more of a macchiato with a dash of cocoa on top, which really elevated the espresso without being too sweet. Two marocchinos and a lemon croissant only set us back €5.50. The croissants are huge too

We stopped here this morning for coffee and breakfast before starting our final full day of exploring Palermo. When we walked in and picked our breakfast and coffees, they had us step back outside and choose a table. We chose well. And then our purchase was brought to us. It was not until the end that we asked for a check and paid with credit card at the table. Lovely. My sweet roll stuffed with cheese and ham was delicious. The double espresso was very good and got the "go juice" going. [Review 12834 overall, 149 of 2020.]

I tried a fried whitebait fish plate and some orange juice. The sanitation is a bit suspect (food is out for hours with these propellers to ward off pigeons), and gets reheated in a microwave before it is served. Workers tend to use gloves that touch coins and bills and also directly handle food (sprinkled salt with the same hand). I think it's part of the experience, and I thankfully haven't had any issues (I have a sensitive stomach)! Good number of stands with pantry items (jarred items and bagged spices), some souvenir vendors, and other stalls for food and drinks. I traveled solo and felt safe the whole time but I also tend to have my belongings directly on my person in front of me and keep zipped pouches for other items. I was also able to pay with card at all vendors (though they preferred cash).
