Terrible experience, start to finish. My fault for not checking into this company. I wanted to send a birthday bouquet to someone out of state, and I googled flower delivery in Tucson. This place had "local" in the AI description and I my exhausted state, I didn't question it. The website looks professional, includes numerous attractive arrangements with a wide range of sizes, flower types, and prices. I chose a colorful one with sunflowers that I knew the birthday girl would love, provided instructions to text the recipient if she wasn't home (it was meant to be a surprise), typed up the card, and paid. The emailed receipt was sparse - it included the products I purchased (without photos, like most receipts provide) and the correct information for the recipient, so I didn't overthink it and went to bed. The big delivery day comes, and by 3 PM that afternoon, it had not been received. I Ruth's to check on the status. After some time on hold, I was told that it was " on its way" and would be delivered shortly. Two hours later, it still had not been delivered. I called again to inquire (now I was getting worried) and was once again reassured it was on its way. By 7 PM it still hadn't arrived. I called once more, half not expecting anyone to answer, but someone did (I believe they use an international call center for their customer support) and said they couldn't reach the driver, but left a message with them and would call me back. At some point they did, but didn't return the call to the number I had provided them (they just called what came up on the caller ID so I didn't get the message until this morning). The person stated that it had been delivered at 5:11 PM - which I knew was a lie. At this point it was no longer a surprise, so I checked in to see if someone it had been dropped off late at night - and it had not. It is then that I finally look up Ruth's Roses to see their reviews, and my heart falls. The reviews everywhere (Yelp, Google, Reddit, even the BBB) are worse than bad. Apparently, this company has a terrible reputation, and I was hard pressed to find any reviews higher than 1 star (with most people stating they'd choose 0 or negative stars were that an option). I sent an email to customer service, and then called them again. The woman who answered was kind and apologetic, and said she would resolve it and get back to me that morning. About an hour later, a bouquet magically appears at the birthday girl's house. Only it doesn't even resemble what I had ordered. I'm including photos so you can see what they have on their site and what was delivered. The bouquet was an embarrassment. Messy, drab, with some flowers browning and the greenery not even fresh. It looks like they went to Safeway and purchased a cheap bouquet, the shoved it into a glass vase - which is what I'm guessing they did. I am almost certain that an actual florist did NOT put this together. I have requested a refund from Ruth's, but looking at other reviews it appears I may have to file a complaint with the BBB and get a refund through my credit card company. Seeing the amount of 1 star reviews for this business, I wish I would have come to yelp prior to purchasing. I purchased a premium bouquet of lillies for a friend for her birthday. I had been going between a couple different websites, but this one had a better selections so I decided to go with Ruth's. To my surprise, once my friend received the flowers, she sent a picture to say thank you and when I saw the photo I instantly knew it wasn't what I had ordered. The entire bouquet is supposed to be blossomed lillies making a beautiful circle of deep red and pink lillies. Instead they filled it with 60% greenery, and babies breath which wasn't even in the advertised picture. I called to inquire why they delivered something different, and after "further review" they said they could only offer a $30 refund on a $100 purchase saying their policy is that they can make modifications based on availability. So they are purposely and intentionally false advertising their products, taking your hard earned money, and don't even have the decency to communicate the changes, or try to properly rectify the situation. To me, it seems like this company has bit off more than they can chew. They pay for advertisement for their shop to pop up first, you also think you're ordering on the direct site, just to find out they don't have the inventory to keep up with the amount of orders they receive. This will not be sustainable, and I hope they take the MULTIPLE 1 star (which people wish they could have left 0 stars) and make the changes necessary to turn around the reputation of their shop, otherwise they need to close the doors and stop scamming people. Ordered a bouquet of flowers to be delivered same day called them at 11 AM. I was told the delivery would be made by 7 PM when I hadn't heard word from the recipient. I called the next day to see if the flowers went out for delivery. It was then and only then they informed me that they did not have any pink roses available and that they could reschedule delivery for Monday. In my case it was Simi Valley, California. I ordered a bouquet for the death of my friend's mother. She thanked me for the flowers, but didn't send me a photo of them or post about them on Instagram or anything, which I thought was a little odd but she's grieving and it's not about me, obviously.
