When I joined Stealth six months ago, I was weak and afraid of embarrassing myself for not being…read moreable to keep up, or not being coordinated enough to do the workouts. The two owners, John and Mat, as well as the rest of the folks that work there, all made sure to get me over my fears within the first two workouts. Since I started, I've lost 35 pounds, I can see muscles I haven't seen in years, and am much, much fitter. I now pay a lot more attention to what and how much I eat, and make it a point to get to Stealth at least 3 times per week. One of the common things I heard about Crossfit is that the members form a very tight knit "community". Stealth sure does have a strong community. There are many members- men, women, young and old, super fit and just starting out; all of them support and encourage each other without nudging so much that its annoying or intimidating. Try Stealth for an introduction session, I'm thinking you'll see it's a great place.

I started coming here on a whim a few weeks ago as I kept hearing family members who are either…read moredoing OTF or lost a lot of weight doing OTF. It kinda bugged me, so I decided to try a class on a whim. After that, I decided the only way to get myself right is to commit to this for at least a year. And that, I ended up doing. If you know a little about Orangetheory, it's really great for anyone in any shape. For me - a gym avoider - it's been good because the instructors really do help coach you. My form is absolutely terrible and I've been using OTF to learn everything from scratch. It was rough the first few gos, but it's been getting better day by day. This location is good as it's only about 10 mins or so away from my home. As someone who works from home all the time, I've taken advantage of both the morning and afternoon classes. I find the 8:15am class to be the perfect wake-up call to start the week. I then utilize the 12pm class mid-week for the specialized strength and tread classes. Works perfect for me as the strength class breaks up the cardio a little bit. I also added a Saturday AM class too. Bathrooms are nice and clean in here. Also, the front desk people are usually pretty nice. The instructors I've worked with - Justin, Boo, Brian, and Tansey - are super nice people too. Only thing is that Yelp ought to tweak the hours because it's not like there are classes every hour. But that's out of my control....

I've been a member of this location for a few months now and I really love the place. The facility…read moreis small and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and the coaches are wonderful. I appreciate the smaller classes (compared to a regular gym) and the direction from the coaches when I do something incorrectly (which is common, because I'm uncoordinated and out of shape but working on it, LOL). It's like having a personal trainer without the added cost of a personal trainer. As someone who typically hates exercise, I look forward to my OT classes!

Called to ask the manager about consistent rules around points rewards systems. Some employees will…read morescan my barcode, allowing me to earn 7 points (1 point for Each Dollar Spent On Smoothies) while others will tell me I "don't need to do that" and I don't get my points recorded. Manager said it's not protocol or standard to receive points for smoothie purchases (despite me receiving 7 points when the well-trained employees scan my code AND despite the earning rules saying you earn a point for each $ spent). Why her solution to me was for me to tell the associate I want it on my account? I'm not sure. I tell them this each and every time. Instead of taking accountability and saying she would retrain or refresh her staff on the points earned for purchases protocol, the manager diverted the blame to me. I am disappointed and will not be buying smoothies and likely won't return here.

I did the Zumba class last night and it kicked my butt! Not because it was overly intense, but…read morebecause my coordination was off and it was my first time ever attending that class. The steps are fast, so I had to concentrate to keep up the pace. I was not expecting it to be like dance moves. There was this one lady in the class who kept yelling out SUPER loud every time we did a power move, thrust,or jerk. Perhaps she was over caffeinated or just high on life... I'on know, but she was *extremely^ annoying. Anywho... I must give credit to the class instructor (whose name I believe is Alisha - based on the schedule at the desk). She was very sweet. She recognized that I was a newbie and ran through the moves one time before going at full speed. The rest of the class were obviously regulars because they had their moves down to a T. Altogether, Zumba class at Retro Fitness was a fun, heart- pumping, booty shaking experience!
