Stepping into Rusty's is like stepping into a time capsule from the 1980s. The moment you walk through the door, you're enveloped in a world that feels like a retro movie set. The color palette bold, vibrant neons and pastels, immediately transports you back in time, while the walls are adorned with classic movie posters from iconic '80s films. Overhead, a TV plays old-school music videos, filling the air with the tunes that defined a generation. It's more than just an ice cream shop; it's an immersive trip back to a time when everything seemed larger than life, nostalgic in the best possible way. I decided to keep it simple with my order, opting for a scoop of chocolate ice cream topped with pecans. Sometimes, simplicity is where the magic lies, and this was no exception. The ice cream was perfectly creamy, rich with a sweet chocolate flavor that wasn't too overpowering. Each bite had a velvety smoothness that melted in my mouth, but what truly elevated it was the pecans. Their salty, slightly crunchy texture balanced the sweetness of the chocolate in the most delightful way, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. It was like a dance of salty and sweet on my palate, the perfect pairing. Rusty's isn't just about the ice cream; it's about the feeling it creates. It's a place where the past feels present, where you can indulge in something sweet while being surrounded by the vibrant energy of the '80s. It's a spot that not only satisfies your sweet tooth but also gives you a sense of joy and nostalgia with every scoop. read more

I was visiting Fort Wayne and had a craving for Ice Cream. I had heard all about this place from a friend, so I had to check it out. It did not disappoint! There were so many fun 80's choices to choose from, GhostBusters, Rainbow Bright, Ninja Turtle, and many more! I went with the Pretty In Pink Ice Cream, and it was DELICIOUS! I am all about customer service, and you could tell everyone there loved their job (they even dressed 80's). The owner Rusty was there also, and you could tell he cared about each customer, as he walked around to each table to see how everyone was doing, and if they were happy with their order. He even did a few magic tricks for us! I can't wait to go back read more

I saw this place featured on The Drew Barrymore show, so had to go by. It was super cool from the decor, the blacklight bathroom, the 80's bedroom wall, the tables, and the Ice Cream. I got to meet the three owners, and they were very kind. Rusty, one of the owners, checked on us, then gave us the ultimate 80's tour of the place. This is def a place for adults to reminisce, and kids to learn about the 80's decade. I like how they weigh their ice cream scoops, so you know you're not getting skimmed, and plus it keeps my kids from fighting over who got more. read more

Located next to the famous Fort Wayne Coney Island in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana, Sweets on Main is an adorable locally-owned ice cream shop that opened on Main Street just a few years ago. After a yummy lunch at the coney dog restaurant, my boyfriend and I still had room in our tummies for dessert and I have had Sweets on Main bookmarked for a bit. We only wanted a little portion of ice cream (we were gonna have lots of birthday cake later that day) and we were happy to see that a small portion of ice cream was only $3! We tried a few flavors - I spent a while debating between getting banana pudding and brown butter bourbon truffle - and then we chose our flavor. I got the brown butter flavor as I love ice cream with texture and my boyfriend got the Michigan Pothole flavor. To our surprise, each scoop also came with a FREEEEE topping of our choice! We both chose to get the biscoff sprinkles. Then we paid, sat down, and enjoyed our yummy treats! There are plenty of seats and the service is great.
