Passed by this restaurant on our way to our resort in Garden City. After we checked in we decided to go with another couple we know. It gets really busy, even in the off season. I ordered a burger which was two 5 oz. patties on a bun with a choice of side, if you don't want to get fries. I ordered potato salad. Our other order was a fried flounder on a green salad. Both meals were excellent and with good service. By the time we left the place was full. Good thing we arrived when we did. They did ask if we had reservations. Seldom do my friends and I, while on vacation, return to a restaurant a second time during the week, but we couldn't wait until the next vacation to go back to Rustic Table!!! It was great! We each raved about our meals. I had the steak salad which was to die for! The steak was tender and the salad dressing was soooo good! One friend had the crab cakes and declared them to be the best she's ever eaten. My entire table could not stop raving about the brunch at Rustic Table after eating here! We chose this place because it had outdoor seating and, unfortunately, had to sit at a picnic table outside of the covered patio due to the size of our party (5). The service was average but the food was truly excellent. I started my meal with a blood orange mimosa which was the perfect balance of sweet and tart. I, along with another member of the party, ordered the corned beef hash & eggs. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the corned beef hash and I was pleased to see that they had trimmed the meat appropriately as it can be fatty. The side of grits were to die for and we ended up passing those around to share. It's genius to have whole corn kernels in the grits! Food is amazing, and the service is usually pretty good, but not the best for the prices you pay. Dining in is the way to go here. The only issue we have ever had when dining in is with a check splitting issue. We went as a party of 4, and two of us ordered an appetizer. They automatically divided the appetizer 4 ways on our checks, even though some of the people did not eat the appetizers. Everyone ended up have an additional $6-7 on their checks, whether they ate the appetizers or not. I though this was weird. I asked if he could change it and put it only on mine, but he said he could not undo the split. The waiter seemed fairly new, and I have not seen him since. The kitchen ALWAYS seems to be great, and other than that one experience, the waitstaff seems to be great, but there have been several times that I have had issues with take-out orders. From my take-out experiences, I believe communication is where they are lacking. For example, a few weeks ago I called at 2:45 pm to order some lunch, a Pawleys Island sandwich, and I was told that the kitchen closes at 3pm and they were no longer taking orders - even though it only takes about 5min to make that sandwich. The girl said I could call back at 5pm when they re-open. I asked if the sandwich would be available at that time bc it is not on the dinner menu, and she assured me that it would. I called back at 5pm, and I was told that they were not taking orders over the phone and I would have to come inside to place a to-go order. I REALLY wanted this sandwich, so I drove up there, went inside, sat at the bar, and waited. When the bartender came to me, I ordered my sandwich and was told it is unavailable at dinner. I was very unhappy. I explained what all had happened, so she went to get permission from the kitchen to see if I could order the off-menu item. The kitchen agreed to make the sandwich, which was very nice. As I said, it took no more than about 5min., and I was on my way. The people who handle take-out orders are the least friendly in the whole restaurant. I would give 3.5 stars if I could. If the check-splitting issue had been resolved and the take-out experiences were better, I would give 5 stars. I rounded up to 4 stars because the amazing food gives it that little bump and no one can be perfect all the time! If take-out service improves, I will give 5 stars next time! read more

One of the best places to eat in Pawleys! We have lived here 3 years and it's very consistent. Me and my husband love the Mahi salad. The kids like the fried chicken and the country fried steak they both are very good. Grits are excellent too! My friends and I had brunch at Rustic Table today and we LOVED it! I had the Shrimp N Gritz entree and it was amazing. Best shrimp and grits I have ever had. My friend loved the Monte Cristo and the other got the Bloody Mary and holy cow that thing was awesome! Stopped in for our first time when we had business in Pawleys Island and were glad we did. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. The food was plentiful and excellent. Interesting decor, somewhat rustic with a few modern elements. The high ceilings and bare walls tend to amplify noise so we found it a bit noisy during the lunch hour. The service was pretty good. Our waitress must have been on break or busy because the manager came over and took our drink order and put in our appetizer order which was considerate. We had a blood orange mimosa, peach and blueberry sangria, the comfy( which is a breaded and fried piece of chicken on biscuits covered in sausage gravy), and smoked brisket nachos. Everything tasted excellent. There was a charge for splitting a plate which was disappointing since we shared off the same plate and didn't actually have anything plated separately. No extra effort shouldn't equal extra charges in my opinion. Overall very good and we would come back. read more

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Charleston. We were blown away with the food! The atmosphere was equally awesome. I had the Pawleys Island sandwich and could not stop eating. The pimento cheese was the best I've had. Paired with the ham and fried green tomatoes (+bacon!) this was simply one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Broccoli salad was also delicious. The ONLY negative was the potato was just mediocre. But it's possible it was just too difficult to outshine the sandwich!! My fiancé had the burger and basically inhaled it. Wow!!! We visited tonight with a party of 7 and our experience was amazing! We started with 3 appetizers: the pear and honey Brie, fried pickles and popcorn gator! Yummy! We all had main dishes that were beautifully put together and delicious! They ranged from fried chicken to blacken mahi-mahi to the surf and turf. Everyone left full and happy! The Proud Mary drink was a concoction beyond our imagination! To top it off our server was so sweet with southern charm and pointing us to great selection... though I'm pretty sure we couldn't go wrong!
