He gave us a informative and interesting tour that was the perfect balance of facts, food and walking. We had cinnamon bread from Mancini's, pepperoni roll at Jimmy & Nino Sunseri's, hummus at Labad's , chips and salsa, , meat samples at Parma Sausage, a macaron at My Sweet Lilly's, cheese samples at Stamooli 's and several other tasty treats. Our son and daughter in law had dinner a good your with this company previously, and they preferred this one! I'd do it again !!

This event was, by far, my favorite Yelp event to date. Being new to Pittsburgh, I am still…read morefairly unfamiliar with the charm of the individual neighborhoods and all that they had to offer. Bloomfield did not disappoint! I enjoyed learning about the origins of the name and the history of the area. After a quick review of the character of the neighborhood, our first stop was Angelo's Pizzeria. Richard talked about the history of pizza in the US and the proper way to eat a slice. The pizza was tasty and fresh. I'll likely be back for more. Our next stop was Groceria Italiana where we met the shop owner. It was impressive hearning about how all the pasta and other items are fresh made in the downstairs kitchen. So impressive that at the conclusion of the tour, I stopped back in to buy some pasta, meatballs and a few other items. Having just returned from a trip to Italy, it was nice to find food similar in taste and quality to what we experienced there. Our third stop was to Maria Merante's. After a quick visit to her shop, we were escorted upstairs to try some iced expresso and to learn more about her shop. She offers cooking classes and group dinners. I can't wait to check out the schedule and see when I can return! Our last stop was Donatelli's where we sampled a biscotti. It was interesting to see the contrast between the commercial kitchen of Donatelli's and the small mom and pop feel of Groceria Italiana. We learned about the machinery and process they use to make their pasta. The tour was great and I plan to check out other options for different neighborhoods to bring friends and family to when they visit Pittsburgh. The day concluded with a trip via bus to the Church Brewworks. The setting was stunning and the brews fantastic. There were a few issues such as no brewer and a late bus, but with an ample supply of tasty beer, those issues didn't matter much. A fantastic experience all around!

I went on 2 trips with this group , years ago.... Malory and Bill were very nice, but…read more... My first trip was a cruise. I didn't have a roommate, and I asked to be matched with a roommate. I paid extra to make sure I have a balcony room as I really wanted to enjoy looking at the ocean every day from my bed and getting the breeze off the ocean. I asked to room with someone, something they do if you want to share the cost. I got to my room before my roommate did as both beds are exactly the same both have a night table. Everything is exactly the same in the room. I just picked one bed because I wanted to lay down, so I chose a bed and was resting when my roommate came in and threw a big fit as to why I got to have that bed closer to the window and she proceeded to put all of her things across the common coffee table area and then took her bed spread and pillow and put it on the couch, leaving me with only my bed to sit on because she was now hogging the whole couch when I left the room for activities and came back. She had moved things that were on my night table, lit candles in the room and moved other things of mine as well. At the dinner table., People were approaching me with "is that your roommate?" And "I'm so sorry for you" as my roommate was going from person to person insulting each of them... And I approached Mallory and Bill about her behavior as well as her touching my stuff in the room, lighting candles and not leaving me alone. I had no peace in the room at all. My choices were to stay with her or to move to an inside room which does not even have a window to see the ocean from my room it's just an enclosed box. So, She was REWARDED with the entire room with a balcony TO HERSELF for her bad behavior. Meanwhile, the rest of my trip was in a tiny room with no window, and I was not compensated at all in anyway, and did not get the enjoyment or relaxation which I had OAID FOR and looked forward to (for months). Amazing journeys had let me down. I thought, however I would give it another chance after all what were the chances of being roomed with two horrible people??? So I decided to go to Israel and booked a roommate. This roommate also was a space hog, but not as bad as the first one, she ran ahead of me into the room and tossed her stuff across the entire common area not leaving me 1 inch to even put a hairbrush down. Then when we went out as a group one night, we were all walking, and apparently they had ordered transportation for us which consisted of one large, beautiful stretch limousine, and two small cars without air-conditioning. So the pretty people ran ahead into the limousine and myself and a handful of others were stuck in two cars, following two small smelly cars with no air-conditioning... This was disappointing to say the least you don't expect to be treated this poorly when you're on your vacation. For these reasons I will never book with amazing journeys again it shouldn't be a matter of if you're popular or you can run and elbow your way in front of other people to get the best... Very disappointing. The idea of it is great.... but personally, I would never go with them again unless they compensated me in a meaningful way for all that I've been through on those two trips.

Overall, my trip was truly fantastic, but there were two things that weren't…read more.. First of all, for a singles trip, I expected roughly half & half, but there were only 5 men on my trip. We had 32 people total. Also, I took the trip when I was 53, and I was told that the age range was 50 and up. It turned out that I was the youngest by about 10-15 years. Most of the people were in their 60s & 70s. They were all wonderful people, but I would have liked to know both things before I signed up. Next time I'll know the right questions to ask.
