It is has now been two months since I returned from my first trip traveling with Amazing Journeys and their very capable staff, Malori and Erin, on a 10-day Mediterranean cruise to Italy, Turkey and Greece. From the moment I arrived at the hotel in Rome for my one day pre-cruise, I was immediately welcomed by Malori who was waiting in the lobby for my arrival. She assisted with the hotel check in, introduced me to other Amazing Journey (AJ) travelers and made sure I was able to get in as much sightseeing as possible before our food tour that evening. After a 9 hour flight from Michigan, sightseeing, and an incredible food tour, I arrived back at the hotel close to midnight. As I walked back in to the hotel with my new AJ friends all I can say is the next few minutes were a blur. In the hotel lobby were many other AJ travelers. The screams, shouts of exclamation and hugs all around, of the AJ travelers meeting up with their AJ friends from previous amazing journeys trips was truly amazing. I knew at that moment I had made a wonderful decision traveling with Amazing Journeys. The following morning we set off for the Celebrity Reflection. After our bon voyage sail away, we had our group meeting where Malori and Erin gave us a detailed handbook of everything they had planned for us, including all excursions and on ship events. Our group of 74 travelers was from 10 states and 4 countries. Malori and Erin's attention to detail covered all the bases. Because of their expertise we were able to go on excursions that were not offered by Celebrity cruise lines. The AJ excursions were very reasonably priced and allowed us to experience places beyond the normal tourist areas. Malori and Erin's depth of knowledge at all of our ports of call ensured we did not miss out on anything. From excursions, meals and shopping during the day, late afternoons at the pools, cocktail parties, dinners and evening events, Malori and Erin had our days and evenings filled. Amazing Journeys take the meaning of travel to a whole new level. I met many wonderful people who I know I will remain in contact with. As stated in the information this was a taste of Italy, Greece and Turkey and taste we did! I never thought I would have the opportunity to travel abroad and I could never have experienced the heart and soul of our stops without the expertise of Amazing Journeys. I have not stopped smiling since I have come home reliving the trip through pictures, Facebook, etc. I would not hesitate to travel with AJ again. My first trip with Amazing Journeys was on their Mediterranean Cruise is past July. For those of us who are a filled with questions before the trip, their office was always at the ready via phone or email to pleasantly and eagerly not only answer questions, but also allay any concerns. This boosted my confidence in Amazing Journeys even before the trip began. The special, little touches began before the trip as well. When we received the necessary paperwork in the mail, along with it came our first treat. Malorie's planning is so professional with attention to every detail. Want a few nights in the departure city? They've got that covered. Don't want the hassle of finding transportation from the airport to the cruise ship in a foreign country? No problem, just reserve the transportation in advance on Amazing Journeys reservation form. Speaking of which, not only were there multiple choices of group excursions in each port, the prices for the excursions were reasonable. I checked out all of Celebrity's excursions for a price comparison, and the prices I paid to travel with AJs excursions were fair. Some of the excursions were custom made for AJ, and that made them more special. Hiking from Fira to Oia on the Greek Isle of Santorini was my most unforgettable venture of the trip. The tour guide said the hikes weren't usually scheduled in July because it could get too hot. It was scheduled special for Amazing Journeys. All excursions were paid in advance. Once we boarded the ship, we were in the most capable hands of Malorie and Erin. Although they did have a third Amazing Journeys staff member along, Noah, he was young and inexperienced. He did did not have the skill and finesse necessary to interact with the group. He said inappropriate things to me and to others. Speaking to people after the journey ended, I have heard many more people unhappy with Amazing Journeys choice of Noah as someone representing their company. All in all, Amazing Journeys is a very appropriately named company. If you book a trip with them, you will truly have an Amazing Journey. With my first AJ trip now under my belt, I plan to travel with them to many more exciting destinations. Fantastic, professional and worth it. With Amazing Journeys you are able to travel the world and see wonderful places without sweating all the small details. It is perfect if you want to see the world but don't always have a crew of people to travel with. If you have friends that want to travel too, it's even better! Amazing Journeys staff helps you along every step of the pre-trip from finding the right trip for you (and they have tons of options going all around the world), making sure that everything you need is in place (Including packing lists and all sorts of helpful documentation!). Once you actually start your trip they really shine. One of their staff comes along every trip with you and does everything they can to make sure that it is the vacation that you dreamed of. One shining example is on my flight to Peru we got delayed (thanks delta!). We were supposed to get to our hotel around 8PM but ended up getting there around 2AM local time. Even at this ridiculous hour, our guide was up and waiting to greet the three of us the second that we walked into the hotel. From there she helped us make sure that everything was in place. The staff are the first up and the last to go to sleep if that means making sure that your trip is the best vacation possible. They really live up to their slogan of "Vacations that change your life" and they change it in the best way possible. read more

Make new friends. See the world. I have traveled with this group since 2006 and have nothing but great things to say. Because of Amazing Journeys, I have had the opportunity to travel all over the world and meet some people I can no longer imagine my life without. I am already signed up for my 10th trip with them! I'm a planner and that classic Type A kind of person. I love planning my own things, but I also like it when I can let someone else to the planning so I can simply enjoy. AJ takes the work out of vacation planning. Some of my AJ friends criticize the company for pricing the trips higher than you could do on your own, but personally, not having to think for myself is worth a few extra dollars. Even those who sometimes criticize sign up again and again. :) My favorite part of Amazing Journeys is the people I meet along the way. Think about your last vacation, did you meet other people or did you just hang out with the one or two other people you came with? I went on my first AJ trip with one friend and came away with dozens more. I keep coming back and now I can't imagine my life without my new friends. This group is great if you have the travel bug but just can't seem to find people who want to travel with you. You can sign up for one of the many AJ trips and just go. I have been on several trips with Amazing Journeys and have seen what feels like almost the whole world (not quite, but close). Amazing Journeys offers a variety of trips annually, so if you are someone who likes to cruise, or do something a bit more historical, like a land tour of Rome, then you will have many options. Just sign up and go! They take care of everything! The leaders are fantastic, fun, and always incredibly helpful. They make sure to let you know that it is your vacation, and you are free to do whatever you'd like, they just want you to have fun. As for meeting people, don't worry! All of your fellow travelers are all nice and you will easily become part of the AJ family after just one trip and have friends literally from all over the world! And what's fun is after that first trip, you will be keeping in touch with them and deciding what trip you're going to go on next - together! I have travelled with AJ for almost 10 years and had a great experience. I have toured with a number of different groups over the years, including Trafalger and UJA, and and rank AJ among the top tour groups. Yes, you could plan your own trip for less money. However, when I travel with a group I am looking to meet people I want to spend time with, trust the accommodations and F&B meet my travel standards, and know that all the details are taken care of by experts so that I can enjoy my vacation; AJ takes care of all that and my money is well spent. I don't need to worry that I won't be seeing the absolute most that can be offered in a given location, that transfers and tour guides are provided for--it's all done. They do their best with groups in the 75-100 person range and I highly recommend their summer Med Cruise for anyone going alone for the first time. If you want to spend time in one location getting to know the culture in depth, these trips are not for you. If your vacation purpose is a hassle free, often times exotic locale AND you want to easily make new friends, AJ is a great group to go with and is worth the money. read more

I have just completed my 5th trip with Amazing Journeys and getting ready for the 6th one to Australia/New Zealand in Nov 2016. The level of detail they put into every trip is insurmountable to any other travel company I have experienced. Each trip I have been on was more Amazing (hence their name) than the last. From cruising the Mediterranean, to a Jewish Heritage river boat tour through Eastern Europe, New years eve cruise through South America, an African safari, Hong Kong/China......all well planned, wonderful local tour guides, fantastic accommodations, and the list goes on. Travelers can rest assured that all details, big and small, are taken care of. If any emergencies occur, they are there handling it, making sure everything is taken care of. Are Jewish travel groups a bit more expensive than others, Yes. But well worth it. I have met some fantastic new friends from all over!! I look back at the amazing journeys I have had with Amazing Journeys and I am amazed over and over again! I have sped across Inle Lake in an open boat in Myanmar, have wandered around Shanghai, a city of almost 25 million (my town has around 34,000) in amazement at the numbers of everything, flew out of a low valley in a small plane flying over 14,000 ft mountains in New Zealand and snorkeled on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, hiked to the base of Mt Fitzroy in Patagonia, went white water rafting and ocean kayaking in Croatia, and kayaked among icebergs off the coast of Greenland. Like, WOW, I actually had these amazing life experiences! These are just some highlights of the adventure filled, super well-organized trips I have been on with Amazing Journeys. Malory has earned her title of Chief Amazement Officer. Touring with other Jewish people gives a feeling of family and friendship right from the beginning. I was single and looking for people who wanted to travel. I was afraid to go on my own. I was nervous. All the things that a single woman might feel. That was me. One call to Malori Asman changed my life. I called her several times for my first trip and she always had time to talk to me and time to make me less nervous. I did a cruise through the Mediterranean with Amazing Journeys on Celebrity. Amazing Journeys was very organized and the staff of Malori, Erin, and Noah we're great. The Celebrity ship was good too. My only recommendation is if you're not good with the heat or crowds like myself I would recommend this type of cruise in the off season (not summer). The group of travelers we're very nice too on a whole. My trip to Alaska with Amazing Journeys was eye opening. White water rafting on the Nenani River, mushing a dog sled on a glacier, watching a glacier calf an ice berg, these were only part of the trip. Catching a complete view of Mount McKinley in Danali National ; riding on the polychrome highway on the side of mountains, these were only part of the experience.
