The woman at the register was rude and short with us... zero people skills in my opinion. Made snide comments back to me about my coffee order. The chorizo burrito was good. The chicken salad croissant was meh... pretty dry and unremarkable. Coffees were both good, however we asked for no whipped cream on one and still got it. The baristas were apologetic, but it was very clear they didn't want to remake anything so we just said it was fine. Interior was cute. I don't recommend ordering any food that isn't premade in the warmers or cooler because they were super behind on food orders and we watched other customers wait for a very long time for their food. The Friday morning visit was five stars. We walked in and must have hit it at just the right time as there was no line. My husband and I ordered the lavender chai latte off the Spring time special menu. I ordered mine with oat milk and his with regular and asked them to make both of them dirty. We were both super happy with this selection. We didn't have to wait very long even though there was only one person working that day. The next morning, there was a long line and two people working... and the specialty menu was no longer available. Even so, they did let my husband order the lavender chai latte again. I went with a flat white with oat milk and light lavender. We waited quite awhile and noticed others around us did as well. It was fine since we were not in a rush, but not the best experience. Clearly the staff were stressed with the rush of people and so many orders to fill. The coffees were once again delicious. There is a limited food menu and a small retail area, as well as indoor and outdoor seating. There isn't any other gourmet coffee in the area to my knowledge, so if you are wanting a fancy coffee, this may be your only option. If you hit it right, you will have an incredible experience, but if there is a line during a busy time, be prepared for a bit of a wait. Either way, enjoy your time at Walloon Lake - it's magical!

We had a rental house around the corner and it delighted me to have a little dessert and snack shop nearby. It's a walk up window specializing in soft serve treats like cones, sundaes, flurries, shakes and malts. The ice cream is smooth and dreamy! I had the turtle sundae and it was divine! My mom went for a soft serve with strawberries and we were impressed that it was chunks of fresh strawberries, not a fake syrup. My husband went with an orange float and it was made with local Northwoods soda. It was all so good! They also have a menu of savory snacks like soft pretzels, nachos, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, and sloppy joes. We kept talking about stopping by for a pretzel but it didn't work out so I can't speak much to their savory offerings, unfortunately. The stand itself is adjacent to the GT Butterfly House & Bug Zoo and, upon looking the place up online, I learned that Kettlewell's is the name of a groundbreaking moth researcher and that's the kind of nerdy trivia that I live for.
