I recently visited this store location looking for specific items, including a sofa. Having browsed online ahead of time, I knew what I wanted and the sales process was straightforward. I received the items as scheduled seven days later but the sofa arrived damaged with a puncture on the left side. Their doorstop delivery unfortunately did not include the courtesy of removing the stretch wrap and cardboard from the sofa or trash removal. Because we were left to handle this, it prevented us from inspecting and refusing the sofa before delivery personnel left. I contacted the store, quickly submitted photos to the customer care email address, and a replacement was sent to me three business days later. While the damaged sofa and inconveniences could have been avoided with better quality control and a standard practice to remove packaging before delivery personnel leave, I appreciated that the store was very apologetic and took swift action to resolve the issue.

On the day of delivery (NOT before), she was advised that Ashley will not actually take the furniture into your home/apartment. If you want them to do that it's an extra $200 charge. No mention was made of this up front or we would not have made the purchase (I"m the one paying for it). To make matters worse, sensing her frustration at this, the delivery guy sort of laughed and told her if she could have someone there "to help them out", they'd be happy to actually carry it into the apartment for an unspecified amount of cash. No way in hell is any of that acceptable to me. And then I remembered that Ashely is owned by Mathis Brothers, and two years ago we had a similar incident with Mathis, where we purchased a piece of furniture. We'd purchased a LOT of stuff through Mathis and had bought the "ELITE" option, which we were told guaranteed "in home" delivery on any purchase. Again, come delivery day, the guys were going to drop it in our driveway and leave, until my wife pitched a fit about it. They did agree to place it in our living room floor where my son and I had to move it upstairs. Swore right then and there to NEVER AGAIN buy from Mathis and this morning I swore NEVER AGAIN to buy from Ashley. There are too many other companies around town to buy overpriced furntiture from. Upshot of today was my daughter cancelled the order and now has to find another source for furniture. Sure as shooting she'll never shop Ashley again. This store is a joke! I ordered something online and chose store pickup to avoid shipping costs. I…read moreran in to grab it, thinking it would be a fast experience, on my lunch break. I followed the instructions in my e-mail. Right when you walk in they have a one-way maze to check out, a wall for the amazon orders/returns, then stacked shelves with numbers and what appeared to be all pickup orders. After waiting in line to be the next customer to check out, I noticed the self pickup and walked through the maze. The email nor order never indicate what number went with my order. I waited in line for help from the amazon guy, he said I needed to go through the checkout line, I waited in that line again for a teenager to scan and tell me I must pickup the item in the self pickup. Duh! What number am I looking for? She gave me a random number and instead of walking around the maze, I cut through the blocked off amazon area. The manager or whoever the old lady was, then snarled and said something under her breath. I found the number and got my item finally. This quick, convenient process turned into a 20 min ordeal. This is ridiculous. It was very unorganized, unhelpful, and chaotic. Quickly reminded me of why I stopped shopping here altogether.

When a Service Manager can't see past the sticker on the paint can, that's a sign that someone shouldn't be in that role to begin with. Evidently, when it comes to paint, Home Depot has a "Buy at your own risk" policy. It breaks down like this. "If you buy paint from us, and we don't mix it right, you can't return it because there's a sticker on the can that says so." That is what actually happened tonight. This woman was going to stick to that that sticker like it was stuck to the can. She acted like I as the one who mixed the paint. I had to get really riled with her in order to get my money back. Here's what went down. I pulled out a paint swatch and realized that it was from Lowe's. The girl behind the counter said it would be okay because they could still match it. I said, "Are you sure?". She said yes so I gave her the green light to mix it up. Well, I got it home and after pouring some in the tray, you could see that it was way off. So I took it back. That was when I had this awesome customer service experience from an old pro like Debbie lol. Ultimately, I got my money back but it wasn't without having to verbally throw down over it and the audacious impunity she displayed over this issues certainly shouldn't be overlooked by anyone above her pay grade.
