Bbq chicken focaccia
Traci N.

Food: specialty's are their focaccia bread topped with various items. We had the bbq smoked chicken, pesto and balsamic glaze and vegetable. Light fluffy focaccia. Smart on Russian Rivers part as the carbs help with all the wine tasting so you're not so happy you can taste more of their delicious wine. Service: great service, attentive, good education Ambiance: perfect out door winery with covered shading. Dog friendly and vibe was outdoor chic farm. Highly recommend as their reds were top notch.

AMAZING experience here! We booked a tasting online for right when they opened. The space here is BEAUTIFUL. They have a gorgeous building and tons of beautiful outdoor seating. There was a live acoustic set playing that was a great addition to the ambiance. Our server was wonderful and walked us through each wine and timed everything so well. She even brought out a slice of chocolate tort for my fiance's birthday which was really sweet of her. The wines here were lovely, I loved their Chester sparkling wine, and their Chester series is named after their former winery dog and the proceeds go to a local animal non-profit. Beautiful setting and wonderful experience. This was our favorite winery that we visited! Thank you for an amazing experience.

This place had really great food and over all experience. I ordered the tri tip sandwich which was off the specials menu. And our table shared a couple glasses, sparkling chester was my favorite! We also shared one of their charcuterie boards! Yum!

The food, service, atmosphere, and views are truly 5-star! Every detail--from the welcoming staff to the beautifully prepared dishes--made the experience memorable. Highly recommend!

Came on July 4th for a wine tasting and despite the scorching heat, my bf and I really enjoyed our time. Our waitress/sommelier was so nice. We had made a reservation for a table the day prior and wine tastings are at the table, which I think is nice because you can order food with your wine too. We ordered the BBQ chicken focaccia which was really good. Light and airy, not too oily, and a little crispy on the edges. Also paired great with the wine. A wine tasting is $30 for a flight of 5 wines. You can share a tasting too. We felt they were pretty generous with the pours. All were very good but my fave was the Chardonnay. Tasting fee is waived with purchase of a bottle - not sure why I didn't just buy one but next time. We were given pamphlets about their wine club membership and there is no pressure to sign up. The grounds are spacious and beautiful. They have multiple picnic tables and a nice shaded patio area. Would def come back again especially to try their other food items, and next time maybe for happy hour. Thanks for a great time, RRV!

Pesto Focaccia

Russian River Vineyards was our second stop during Memorial Day Weekend! We had made a reservation in advance, but arrived 90 minutes early, and they were still able to accommodate us right away. Their (dog friendly) patio was huge, and the ambiance was so pleasant. There was plenty of shade, a huge wooden "vino" sign in the front, and a live music performer. Our hostess was very friendly, and walked us through the two different wine tastings they had available. We chose the more expensive of the two, which included 5 different wines. The wine tasting experience was great, but I wasn't crazy about the wine selection overall. They did have some good ones, but nothing super memorable. I did love that a portion of the Chester Wines proceeds go to animal charities! Russian River Vineyards also had a full food menu, and we ended up ordering the Pesto Caprese Focaccia and West County Focaccia to share between the 5 of us. The two focaccias were a good portion size to snack on as a group, and convenient to share, since they were cut up into small slices. The Pesto Caprese Focaccia was fantastic - great flavor combination! The West County Focaccia was also tasty, but a bit too heavy on the caramelized onion. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and the lovely ambiance!

It was first time visiting Russian River, and my friend and I wanted to visit a winery which was a little calmer compared to the ones in Napa/Sonoma. Let me just say, this place was beautiful and I loved the ambiance of the place along with the live music which featured jazz renditions of modern songs. Our server was super sweet and did an amazing job at explaining the menu and providing recommendations. I ended up going with the Russian River flight and my friend got a bottle of Cab. The place was lively but not too overwhelming which we loved! The food was good as well. I would love to come back here and get a bottle next time!

Delicious lunch and they make their own soup. Yummy!

My first visit was wonderful. Beautiful grounds and luckily they had heaters on as it was a brisk day. I only tried one wine and it was tasty. I can't wait to go back and do a full wine tasting. The standout was the food. Way better than I had anticipated. I am eager to go back to try more food. Thanks Gina for a welcoming first visit. I will definitely be back. Hopefully, sooner than later.

The vineyard was beautiful and dog friendly . The outside patio was perfect for wine tasting. We did the $30 flight . One white and 4 reds. We enjoyed the Emma Pinot Noir. I had the butternut squash salad and clam chowder . My husband did the turkey pesto sandwich and clam chowder . The chowder was fantastic as was the rest of the food . The service was perfect ! Benji my dog loved the mellow vibe.

Fun! Fun! Fun! Girlfriend's birthday party was an absolute blast! The customer service outstanding! Food outstanding! Our table setup beneath the Redwood trees was truly spectacular. Musette & Nick our hostess and wine lead were incredibly friendly, genuine and knowledgeable. We had a party of 10 people as Musette kept the food and wine on point and always looking after us. Excellent all around! Much appreciated as Gio the winemaker/owner also stopped by our table to introduce himself and share a few stories and laughs. Big fun! Overall great experience and highly suggested for a day of wine and food. Cheers!

VINO for taking pictures.

Lovely atmosphere. Cool old truck sitting in the parking lot. Surrounded by trees and a view of the vineyard. The wooden buildings were very inviting and asking for their picture to be taken. You walk up a set of stairs and you immediately find a VINO wall which is perfect for picture taking. The bathrooms are on the opposite side of the walkway. It was an outdoor venue and it was really nice. They had a food menu, which is awesome as it felt like you were having a picnic with your wine. There was live outdoor music too. Staff was friendly and informative. They checked in on us in a timely manner with a smile. We walked out towards the back to view the vineyard. They had another outdoor section possibly used for private parties. I'd like to return and try the food next time.

Tricky Nicky was the best server ever. The experience and food were SO good and surprisingly affordable for the price. Compared to all places in the area I would highly recommend this place. Awesome time! We will be back!

Last weekend wasn't the first time that I've enjoyed the Russian River Vineyards property, but it was the first time in several decades. My Sister-in-Law and brother are members there, and she'd seen an announcement of a Sip & Paint event on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. Did I want to go? Sure, why not?! We had other things going on, including both of us not being in peak health, so we waited to commit. At the last minute SIL was able to confirm through the winery that they would take us. Off we went - through the Sonoma County pastoral countryside which got me in the mood to be on the lovely RRV property. Once there, we had to hobble up the stairs to get to the main level, but we took it slow and made it! A few things have changed since I was there last, but the garden patio spaces have only grown to include "The Grove", which is where the painting class was set up at picnic tables under sheltering trees. We were delighted to find that there was a live musician playing his guitar as part of the afternoon's ambiance for diners / wine sippers. They do have a restaurant on site. At the painting event we were able to order wine, soft beverages, and a variety of easy to eat foods as we did our artistic endeavors. We went for focaccia bread with dipping sauce, thinking we might go for pulled pork sandwich later. We ended up sticking with the bread. The menu looked to have lots of delicious options for next time. The woman tending the wine station for the painters also took care of getting the food served. Ours was accidentally forgotten, but was remedied upon request. As we were busy painting, it wasn't a big issue. That being said, I worked up an appetite with the concentration on trying to learn a new skill! All in all, we spent a relaxing afternoon in a beautiful setting with pleasant company and a fun activity, plus great refreshments. Can't wait to return when in the area to enjoy their full menu and more of the ambiance.

Beautiful wine tasting for our 16 year anniversary!

Russian River Vineyards Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Russian River Vineyards

Is this place dog friendly?

It is. Lots of outdoor space. It's also family friendly so there might be a lot of young kids running around.

Does anyone know why they are not serving dinner on the weekends? Is the restaurant just closed for the season?

They closed the restaurant well over a year ago. It's a bummer because their restaurant was above and by far the best winery restaurant I have ever been to. Keeping the faith that one day it will come back into play.

We've heard a lot of stellar reviews for Iron Horse, so we were underwhelmed by our experience. To start, we checked in at the front, got a glass of sparkling to start, and was told to wait for everyone joining us to get here. We waited for a few minutes. Our host ended up forgetting us and started walking off with the other party when they finally showed up, and the guy we checked in with had to go tell him we were part of his group. I enjoyed the charcuterie box that comes with the tasting, albeit there was some moldy bits here and there. We got the harvest magnum experience ($90/person). They offer more affordable experiences as well. To be honest, I wasn't impressed with any of the wines. I did enjoy the seating experience, the charcuterie box, and the mini impromptu tour everyone was given of the production. The wine itself was underwhelming for the price and as nothing stood out to us, we finished our tasting and didn't grab anything to go. As we weren't wine club members here, the host didn't pay us much attention. Worth trying once, maybe, to see if their wines are to your liking.

This business does not care about it's customers and is so impossible to reach it's almost comical…read more I was a long-term customer of Fog Crest. In 2024 we received a shipment of wine where all the wine in the shipment was broken. In typical situations, wineries offer replacement of broken bottles, but Fog Crest was impossible to reach in spite of (literally) 50 phone calls and emails. Since I couldn't reach them, I canceled my subscription to their wine club. Flash forward a few months, they charge me another ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but never ship me any wine (in spite of the fact that I had already canceled online). Again, dozens of calls and emails, no answer and no response. Still trying. A few months after that, they charge me ANOTHER ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but don't ship that wine to me either. After probably 100 calls and emails, I finally talk to the wine club coordinator on the phone. She of course acknowledges my dozens of messages, and acknowledges my situation. She says she will replace the wine that was broken and figure out why they've been charging me for wine I haven't been receiving and make it right. But that she can't talk right now and she'd call me back with more information. That was a month ago. I've now called again dozens of times, and emailed. No response. Called and emailed the owner, no response. This is borderline criminal: $1,500 in charges for undelivered product, a non-existent customer service experience, and an online system so archaic that it doesn't process your cancelation and continues to charge you for product.

Zero Accountability and Terrible Customer Service - Avoid Fog Crest!…read more I'm absolutely appalled by my experience with Fog Crest Winery. We joined their wine club in 2023 and was charged $420 all of 2024/25 for wine that they NEVER shipped. When I called to inquire about where the wine was, I was met with complete silence--multiple calls and messages went unanswered. After finally getting a call back, the person said they only called me back because "she saw we had called a lot in one day." That was the first red flag. She promised to credit my account and look into another charge that had been applied. It's been SEVEN days since that conversation, and STILL no credit, no updates, and no resolution. I've followed up with multiple calls, messages, and emails... NOTHING. At this point, it's clear that they don't care about their customers. I highly recommend staying far away from Fog Crest if you value your time and money. Total waste of both

They have a massive deck in front, and on a beautiful day, as we had, we got to sit out there and enjoy some delicious wines. I thought the wines were good, but I liked the space more. It has a bit of a retro vibe and many shaded areas to relax. We had a good time sipping and chatting. If you're in the area, I would say stop, get a few glasses, and enjoy that oversized patio. For some reason, the servicer was busy doing other things, although I think we were the only people there. I'll assume she was setting up or cleaning. The service was mediocre at best. So after we hit Paul Matthew's Winery I had scheduled a visit with Bowman Cellars around the corner…read moreand was greeted by the energetic Flynn. She was attentive for awhile but then lost us because she stopped coming out and pouring more wine. I was booked for a one hour appointment that took 2 plus hours because Flynn seemed out of it or something was up. But idk what it was perhaps she was keeping herself busy with something inside! Hmmm ?! So she started us with a predominant gooseberry Sauvignon Blanc and then we had the Rose of Pinot Noir from Mendocino because the fruit is less expensive than the fruit in the Russian River Valley okay so it was decent with flavors of ripe red fruits such as strawberry and raspberry and a textured finish! Then we had the Chardonnay which was decent quality for a Chardonnay it had seen 20^ new oak gave it flavor and then we had the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir which was okay not great it had complexity but not much after hitting Paul Mathew's Pinot dense winery this Pinot seemed to be just okay and then we got to the final wine a red Zinfandel from the Sierra Foothills area and it was big and bold but lacking distinctive flavors. I didn't love it! . Then since they're not especially friendly towards those in the business because it's a 15% discount on wines purchased where I usually get a 30% discount and a comped tasting to which they usually will offer the rose' and Sauvignon Blanc to anyone in the industry!! Only I mean who is in the wine industry and wants to drink those wines, not me!! But I stand corrected because she did comp 2 of the tastings!! And that's good or required because I asked to be comped and was given some goofy answer as to they decide at the end of the tasting who gets comped or not but the fee is only $25 bones so not bad. Further, I requested to taste their Cabs to which theirs 1 from Alexander Valley and 1 from Oakville, Napa area and Flynn said yes, but warned me they had been opened on Thursday and it's Saturday so taken that point in I really liked the Cab from Alexander Valley because it had a light tone to it with a richness of blackberry fruit and savory spices it was superb while the one from Napa tasted dead on arrival!! Oh well but I could taste the potential of the wine within it!! And we left after tipping $40 bones!!
