Tellico Woodworks - Craftsman style bathroom, cabinetry, and doors

    Tellico Woodworks

If you're needing any type of woodwork done, please call Rob Swanson at Tellico Woodworks. We're in…read morelove with the job he did for us. We told him what we were wanting, he made suggestions, and it all came together beautifully!

Rob Swanson and Swanson Custom Woodworks helped us turn our living room into our dream library,…read morecomplete with 10-foot bookshelves with columns and corbels, cabinets, a new fireplace mantel, and a rolling ladder. My husband and I are very happy with the results! Everyone who has seen inside our front door lately -- friends, family, plumbers, UPS deliverymen -- seem to be wowed by Rob's work. Even my dad, who was a high school woodshop teacher for decades and designed many of the wood furniture pieces in my childhood home, was extremely impressed. Rob was very professional and a pleasure to work with, from start to finish. He made detailed design drawings by hand, and worked with my husband and I over several iterations to make sure they were what we wanted. The drawings were so beautiful, we put them on our wall while the bookcases were being built. He gave us several different estimates for different styles and wood types, and laid out the payment schedule at the beginning of the project. Rob did a great job of answering all our questions, giving helpful design suggestions, and addressing strange requests (four different types of corbels!). He matched the whole project very well to the wood grain and stain of an existing piece of furniture. When it came time for installation, Rob and his crew (including son Wes) did a great job of accommodating odd features in our old house on-the-fly, like a very slightly sloping wall and rough stone fireplace. If they made cuts to the wood, they made attempts to do it outside to avoid getting dust in our house. They also vacuumed the wood dust frequently, which I appreciated. Now it feels like we live in a university library. I could just sit and stare at these bookcases for hours. Thanks Rob!

Anatolia Granite and Marble - Saddle crack

    Anatolia Granite and Marble

    (9 reviews)

Buyer beware! (The also own Astro Granite in Bristol, TN)…read moreThe communication from the sales person- Mark has been cordial and great! However- there were a number of issues from a quality control standpoint and customer service stand point from the fabricators. First- we ordered a stone that apparently has fissure cracks regularly. The fabricator knew that it was problematic, and still had it shipped to their fabrication shop. We rejected the stone, and had to go back and pick out other stone. After finding a similarly priced stone- we had it sent to the fabricator to be cut and fit to our needs. This delayed the project quite a bit. Second- one of the pieces was measured incorrectly. It was cut too long, and with the waterfall edge we wanted, it would have to be cut again. Third- they originally cut the stone for their sink, even though on the purchase order, it said 'customer to provide sinks' and they took the paperwork with the sink measurements, and still improperly made the cuts. Further delaying the install. Fourth- the stone looks like it was dropped at some point. Because there is a large chunk missing from the edge, as well as many saddle cracks. Fifth- during install, the installers took a large chunk out of our brand new cabinets, forcing me to get the cabinet face replaced. When I asked to speak with the owner about how we were going to resolve the issues- I was told the owner will not speak to customers. I've been a business owner for over a decade in a service industry based business- if I treated ANY of my clients like this, I'd be horrified. While their prices were better than other quotes we received- I can see why now. They do not care about the customers or the quality of their work. Pay more and go somewhere else. Pictures for reference. EDITED REVIEW: After the back and forth with the sales rep, the installers, and the fabricator- the owner finally contacted me. He did not want to have a reasonable conversation. He wanted to yell, belittle, and berate me. He demanded I pay the full amount before the job was completed (not a chance) and then denied that the issues listed were his company's fault. Then the yelling and threats began. Only hire this company if you want to go through poor customer service, want to patronize an owner who doesn't have any care for the quality of their work.

Trying to buy a new house that had counter tops installed by Anatolia Granite. I noticed a crack…read morein the granite. I brought it to the attention of the realtor. Anatolia said its "superficial" vein. Umm, sorry but it's a crack in the granite and they don't want to replace it, but "fill it". Sorry, but cracks in granite or concrete that get "filled" are in fact cracks! Not veins. Take your business elsewhere folks. These guys will not be honest with you. Save your money/time/headache.
