At the time, the place struck me as a local favourite and reminded me a bit of the much loved Bridge Drive Inn back home in Winnipeg. They offered a variety of flavoured soft ice cream, hard ice cream, shakes, signature sundaes and such. My kids excitedly made their selections and I was happy to see that I would be able to savour one last taste of the Island Farms salted caramel that I had discovered in Victoria. Sadly, it was not meant to be! You see as it turns out we only had a five left in our wallet. My husband pulled out a credit card only to discover that like our BDI in Winnipeg, this place did not accept credit cards. They inform us that there is a bank machine conveniently located just behind the stand. However that's when my husband discovers that his bank card had gone missing and silly me, I had not taken mine along on the trip. Based on our previous experience, the dejected expressions on the faces of my children and my own level of disappointment as we drove off minus the much anticipated ice cream, I am awarding this establishment 4 stars. After all it's not their fault that my husband and I did not have our act together that day!

The extra plus in this place was that they have cheesecakes from the Cheesecake Factory ... Yes, all the way from USA. I liked the soft ice cream and the dips... I've tried the green tea and the creme brulee, super good. Definitely coming back every time I have to come for work in Medicine Hat. ** I've did a little research and this is a Quebec franchise.... I can't comment on the other food as I have never tried - although a sign indicated that food prep can be a bit slow as everything is made to order. You get the same person every time you call who has a file of canned answers...say hi to Ian if you try calling there! I've talked to Ian 3 times since this happened in March. I have seen Tim Hortons employees chipping excessive ice in their drive through so I think the McDonalds should do the same.
