I am not sure if it is a new restaurant or not, but it did have that polished, renovated appearance, mixed with the old fashioned A & W colors. There were a few locals hanging around having breakfast, and my favorite was a little senior citizen couple that were sitting beside each other, instead of across from each other. Cute! I ordered my deluxe breakfast, because I was feeling like the works. I wanted toast, bacon a hashbrown and toast. When they asked how I wanted my eggs, I made sure I told them over hard, because my worst breakfast turnoff is snotty eggs where the white are running. Runny yolks - good. Runny whites - revolting. I am a pro at being disappointed on eggs when I go out, so in a fast food restaurant, my expectations were in check. However, when my breakfast came out. My.... eggs.... were.... over... hard! Like I asked!!! I'm not kidding! This doesn't happen in places where I pay $15 for bacon and eggs. A&W Express staff listened and delivered! Usually when I review any type of franchise, I struggle to let you know what is special about one fast food chain to another. A&W Express made it easy. :)

The dining room was not too large but was made efficient with table placement. We ordered at the counter then were assigned a table by the woman who took our order. There were a few other patrons when we arrived. Our food came out in about ten minutes. I had a double cheeseburger with onion rings and Andrew had a mushroom burger. His burger had a gray mushroom sauce on it that made the burger sloppy. Andrew enjoyed it. My burger was not your typical burger. It seems to be hand made and had some seasoning on it. It was a bit too salty and and also kind of tough. It was good though. The onion rings were typical. Business really picked up while we were there with many more customers. If I were to go back I would get the chicken finger basket. One of our co-diners had that and it looked good.

The children's hotdog was a good size, but priced a bit high. The person who took our order was friendly and helpful. Part of the reason we came here was that they advertised 100% natural beef. My wife has allergies to various ingredients - the reason we chose this restaurant was because of the natural beef. As the pictures indicate their beef is not natural - it is filled with various other ingredients - some which are anything but natural. We were quite disappointed in this. Seems like a bit of false advertising. Unlikely that we would come back

These are the food that we ordered : Breakfast Sammy (CAD$15.99) - the sandwich is good except for the home fries. After it got cold, it became tough. Fettuccine Alfredo (CAD$15.99) - it comes with a soup or salad. Additional CAD$4 if you add Shrimp or Chicken. Pasta was Al Dente and the sauce is on point. Food was devoured. Deluxe Happy Belly Burger (CAD$16.99) - the beef patties are thick, well cooked and tasty. Optional add ons with additional fee like onions or mushroom. The name is aptly. French Toast (CAD$13.99) - it was okay. I have tasted better. I was in awe with the amount of bacon that came with it. It was a lot. I was expecting to get a few pieces. That made up the whole meal. We left the restaurant with Happy Belly and Satisfied. For sure we will come back when we find ourselves lost in the area.

The restaurant has distinctly diner vibes, and appeared possibly associated with the Travel Lodge that was structurally adjacent. Joane (?...she did say it was with a single "n") was our very gracious server. Two of us ordered the cheese burger and the 4-cheese creamy penne, respectively; both were tasty and satisfying, done well as "diner" selections. The remaining two of our party opted to do "midday breakfast" instead and ordered the Grand Platter to share...which came with a big side of "entertainment" value as it was unexpectedly served on a Lazy Susan - 4 each of bacon, ham, sausages, and eggs, 1 pancake, toast, and potatoes! Can definitely feed two if not three. Would certainly dine again here if ever coming back out to this somewhat remote destination in Alberta.

There are only about 6-7 sandwiches to choose from, but to me this means they are doing things right by having a small menu! Lots of sides to choose from and a ton of local craft sodas and beers too. We got: 1. Beef and cheddar - messy but good, served on a baguette - this was enough for me to eat lunch and save half for later! 2. Caprese - fresh and delicious on a fluffy focaccia bread 3.
