This is a throwback favourite for students - but it should deserve a higher crown than that. The kobedah is the best in Rusholme & the chicken tikka on the bone is the best you will get anywhere. All kebabs come on fresh made, light and crispy bread with salad on a huge sheet of paper. Don't expect plates. This place is casual & is dwarved by all the other bright lights surrounding it. It could do with a makeover, but that would probably ruin it! You might go & think "ugh look at the state of this place" - forget your judgements & just tuck in, you won't regret it!

You get your money's worth for sure and don't go away feeling hungry. My brother ordered a rump steak with a side of chicken wings and chips. I had the tilapia with chips and rice. The fish was soft and well marinated, delicious. The steak was juicy and came with pasta which actually complimented the meat really well. They also offer a variety of condiments and spicy sauces. The menu consists mainly of meat and fish with various sides. They don't serve alcohol and you can't BYOB as it's a halal restaurant adhering to Muslim values. They do offer a range of tasty mocktails though. You'll find this to be the case with most restaurants on the Curry Mile but don't let that put you off, you can always go to a bar afterwards! Well worth a visit.

Taking a seat in a plastic chair I soon discovered there was no alcohol served. I did try a mocktail of sangria and my friend a strawberry daiquiri. As you can imagine the menu consisted of meat and luckily fish, all at a reasonable price. We ordered the ten spicy chicken wings to share,me the tilapia fish and himself something steak like. The cocktails were nicely presented however mine was very Vimtoey. Chicken wings soon followed which were plentiful, the spice on them was good and sized averagely. When the mains landed I was pleasantly surprised. Served on a giant wooden platter I double checked to see I hadn't ordered the baby whale instead. The steak was laid out in the same manner smothered with pasta. The flavours were good, although glancing over at the steak it looked so anemic with out the blood. Dependant on who you are this is a great place. I.e if you are T Total, eat halal meat you will love it.. me however am only just coming to terms on meat eating . The fish was good but usually I try a slither of rare/medium rare steak..but I find meat isn't as succulent or as tasty without the red stuff..also I do enjoy a glass of wine with this kind of food.. Will I be back? No but I will recommend it to some of my friends and it is cheap..and meaty.

I usually get slightly overwhelmed with so much choice, but for some reason that is never the fact here, maybe it is because there is literally a food for every mood! there is... Pakistani, Chinese, Italian, Mexican American and British. It is also quite an attractive place to dine, there are huge glass windows to two sides of the restaurant which let in alot of light during the day, the atmosphere has always been chilled when I have gone, never noisy or rammed.. all in all quite a tranquil setting, even I suppose for the lobsters awaiting their demise in a tank by the entrance! The service is friendly but sometimes seems a little chaotic in busy periods, this have never detracted from my experience though, as the food is good... not earth shattering though. Considering the surrounds and choice, put that together with the reasonable pricing, and you are on to a winner! Expect to pay around £7 for a main course! Certainly a nice place to go with a group of friends, especially in no one cab decide what type of food to plump for! You can order take away food from here too.

The music seemed slightly disjointed with the Mexican food we ordered. The food came promptly and the portions were generous. We shared a three starter dishes for £12.99 which I thought was a nice touch; enabling us to try 3 different dishes for a reasonable price. The crispy chicken bites were particularly good. My friend was disappointed at the small number of wraps he got with his fajita but was given more on request with no extra charge. His fajita mix (I tried it) was delicious. My steak enchiladas were decent but didn't pack as big of a flavour punch as I was hoping for. On the whole it was a decent and filling meal for a not unreasonable price but I do not think I'll be rushing back.

Believe it or not, dear Yelpers, I don't give fast food chains that much custom (these days at…read moreleast). Of all the big high street names though, Nando's has to be my 'most-liked' as the food just tastes that bit more wholesome than the burgers and fried chicken you can get elsewhere. So I shared my workmates' pleasant surprise when we heard that they were opening a new restaurant near the Lowry Outlet, and waited for its opening. A birthday lunch of a colleague brought a group of us in here and we were glad we booked in advance as the place was really packed. Had we known we could have pre-ordered our meals before arrival we would have done, as we were told there would be a 25 minute wait for food and they weren't wrong. A couple of trips to the soft drink vending machine later and the food started arriving, along with a sincere apology from the manager. They were newly opened, very busy and had two large groups who arrived very late, so we totally sympathised. The food we ordered was all very good, everyone had empty plates. The interior is full of reclaimed wood, from the walls to the massive lamp shades. There seems to be a trend to use this in places these days which is great. Being brand new, the whole place was obviously shiny and clean. Welcome to the neighbourhood, we've been chicken-deprived for too long.

I managed to track down My Nawaab and it was far better than my already fond recollection They have perhaps the broadest range of Pakistani and South Asian Cuisine I've ever seen. The service is top notch and I cannot herald the staff enough for their warmth and friendliness. As a stranger on my own, I was made to feel so at home. As a huge bonus, they have my absolute favourite dessert in the world, Oymali, which I last had in Cairo. As a grand finale when I returned for a second night in a row before driving onward to York, they personally made sure that I had a helping of faluda. I do hope to come back again and a special thanks to the wonderfully lovely staff at My Nawaab.
