I went in for a pair of running shoes and the extremely helpful sales associate took in all my factors like race training for, type of ground I run on, areas of pain, length of runs per week etc , had me run a few seconds on the treadmill then completely walked through my gait, how my feet hit the ground and degree ankles moved during and from that was able to pair me with a pair of Hokas that were a dreamy fit and only the 2nd pair I tried on. The Rush Running location in Bentonville has some incredibly helpful employees who know their shoes and are able to make specific, well-reasoned recommendations of brands, models, and features based on my needs (and imagined needs). Like many small speciality shops, this one can get busy on Saturdays, but during the week I've had nothing but exceptional customer service. They seem to have limited color choices for each shoe, at least the ones I get. This limitation doesn't bother me because I'm there to find the best trail shoes for my needs, not for fashion. On the occasions I've groused about the available color(s), the staff has always offered to order a different color for me - great customer service, but I just buy the best color they have in stock, even if that's neon yellow and blue. I mention the limited color choices because running shoes have become fashion items, and if your goal is to complete your "outfit," or if you're shopping for picky kids, you might not find what you're looking for, at least in stock. But if you're looking for running shoes for running, Rush Running is the best place in Northwest Arkansas. read more

I had a very good experience at Rush. They provide personal consultation and have you run on a treadmill to evaluate how you run so that you get fitted for a shoe that will match your running type. I found a pair that worked well for me. To my surprise, Rush wasn't expensive. So many specialty shops don't have a cost structure that allows them to compete on price vs the larger retailers. Quality of shoes are not good. The first time I washed the shoes by hand, it got some small tears on the top edge immediately. I had to stop washing it. Service was not good, either. The pair of shoes they gave us were not new ones. Sometimes wrong item was given. read more

A rare, non-good experience. Went to Rush to get a pair of running shoes after not having any for quite some time. I looked forward to consulting with one of their experts to find shoes that worked for my foot issues/qualities and running style. The store was busy-ish considering the time of day but manageable. I recognized one of the guys from the past as someone who really knows his stuff and maybe is a manager or owner - not sure. In any case, he was working with a customer, looking at her gait, talking about all the things to get her the right pair and said someone would be with me in a minute. Up popped a young man who gave perfunctory-bordering-on-dismissive service (when he wasn't dashing off to answer the phone). Which shoes does he recommend for (my issues, foot qualities...)? "Anything up there on the wall will work - they're all good" I asked other specific questions to hear "People like different shoes, it's really what feels good on your foot. I could tell you one thing and you might like something else" No questions from him, no analysis, just hey, it's all good so what do you want? I narrowed it down to two styles - He said they should have lots of color options in the back. Came back to the floor with "What you see is what we've got." I said I wasn't super thrilled with the colors - that they were kind of ugly He said "Can't disagree there" I decided to buy one of the pairs because I needed running shoes and I guessed they were "good enough". I'm okay with the shoes - they are shoes - probably a bit wide for my narrow foot (one of several criteria that he dismissed) but the service was just stupifying. Worse than some generic department store or discounter. I do think it was the (un)luck of the draw on this visit but someone needs some training. read more

We recently moved to NWA. My 12 year old signed up for the Freedom Frosty 5K since he just started training with his school's cross country team during their offseason. We saw Rush as a sponsor on the 5K t-shirt and decided to stop in for him some new shoes. The sales associate was SO knowledgeable about the differences in shoe brands and styles. She helped him find a shoe that makes his sore right ankle feel better. We were even there right up to closing time (sorry), but she never seemed bothered by that. Another associate also helped us test some material that comes in running gloves they sell to see how the material heats up with sweat. Super cool. Grabbed those too. So happy the associates helped make the daunting task of trying on so many brands and styles easier! We will definitely be back! Demetrius fitted me and my daughter for shoes at the Rogers store. After our evaluations he explained the dynamics of our strides and selected several styles of shoes for us to try. We both chose Brooks (a brand that neither of us had heard of) and after two weeks of wearing them we are both happy! My daughter is able to run without shin pain and my running/dog walking shoes are comfortable and cute and cradle my feet like little baby clouds. I pick up running as a hobby a last summer by preparing for the Chili Pepper 10k held in Fayetteville every October. I wouldn't call myself an avid runner. There are people who run longer and faster than me. I just try to keep at least a 10 minute mile pace, which I managed to do at the chili pepper race. After I finished the race, I stopped training. When I tried to pick up running again, I started getting shin splints and arch pains in my feet. Based on a lot of word of mouth, I went to Rush Running to find a new pair of running shoes. They analyzed my running by watching me run on a treadmill and recommended that I wear neutral running shoes. I went to Fleet Feet prior to my 10k, and they recommended stability shoes, which worked wonders for me until I wore them out. So I kept questioning Rush Running's logic. I decided to listen to the salesperson (the wife of the owner) because of the reputation that the store has in the community. I bought a new pair of Mizunos (I usually buy Adidas). 1 months later, I came back. My shint splints were gone but the pain in my arch was getting worse. So I pushed for them to give me stability shoe, but this time, the 2 high school boys selling me the shoes recommended super feet insoles because of my arch problem. My feet continued to hurt, even when I walked in the sneakers. So I thought that maybe it was the Mizunos that caused my feet to hurt so bad that I could barely run half a mile. I went back to the store one last time to buy a pair of Adidas shoes. The boys still insisted on the neutral shoes, and re-analyzed me again to make me feel comfortable with the choice. I decided to buy the Adidas neutral shoes (they were on sale, so I felt okay buying them). But my feet still continued to hurt after breaking them in for a month, so I quit my new hobby. I went to an orthopedic and they just taught me feet exercises. I had a 4 month hiatus from running, and I was still frustrated about not being able to run more than half a mile (even after doing the feet exercises). I decided to buy a pair of stability shoes from Zappos, and, it's a miracle, my feet didn't hurt severally while I was running! Granted, I still have some arch pains, but running and walking is not nearly as bad as it was with the Neutral shoes and Super Feet insoles. So, I realized that my issues might have been with the shoes type. I wish I would have just listened to my own instincts instead of the sales people at the store. Unfortunately during my ordeal, I wasn't able to get a hold of the owner, who is apparently the real expert. I went there 4 different times to seek for his advice and I always missed him for some reason or another (lunch, graduation, Sunday, errand..etc). This place isn't a bad running store. I just feel like there are other ways to identify a shoe type than looking at how a runner runs. At Fleet Feet, they look at your actual feet and how you walk without any shoes or socks. Fleet Feet noticed that my feet were flat and recommended stability shoes. However, all of the avid runners that I knew went to Rush Running (and also ran in their running club/training sessions), so I thought that they had the credibility to tell me that Fleet Feet and I were wrong. I started running initially just as cross training for cycling. Rush Running did a fantastic job analyzing my gait and getting me in the right shoes while educating me along the way. From there I began doing speed work with them on Mondays and found out they provide runs on Wed, Fri, Sat, and Sun as well, and all for free whether you've bought from them or not! First time here today and it was a great experience! I'm a total newbie to the Running world and was so nervous to go to a running store. Like, surely they would recognize me as a phony! However, after losing several toenails (ew!) and knee pain while running, I decided it was time for a gait assessment and shoe fitting. The sales reps were very welcoming and approachable from the moment I walked in. They quickly got me fitted for a shoe (i've been wearing a size too small! ) and on the treadmill for assessment. They recorded my running for 15 seconds (thank God that was the extent of it because I wasn't ready to make a fool of myself first thing on a Monday!) and immediately recommended several options of shoes that should help my issues and make running more enjoyable. After trying on about six different ones, I found my glass slipper! The whole thing took about 30 minutes and I feel ready to conquer the running world! And by conquer I mean continue running a 10 minute mile, huffing and puffing my little heart out. Definitely check this place out, you won't be disappointed! read more

I needed a pair of shoes with some stability since I was coming back to running after an injury. First, the salesperson tried to talk me into a more neutral shoe. Then, when the stability shoe I wanted wasn't available in my size, they ordered it and said it would arrive in 5-7 days. It's been more than two weeks, and no one's been able to tell me if/when shoes would arrive. I finally got a call back, blaming the shoe company, and saying the shoes would arrive "some time next week, most likely." I said no thank you. I can get those shoes from the company and about four other places online with no problem (and for less), so saying the shoes aren't readily available seems like a convenient excuse. Bad customer service, high prices, and a lack of accountability for their own mistakes. I won't shop there again. read more

I am a long time runner and moved to Bentonville a little over a year ago. I found Rush Running right off the bat and stopped by a few times. Well I went there last week to have my gait evaluated by Mike Rush. How they do this is by having you slip on a pair of standard running shoes, throw you up on the treadmill and digitally record your feet from behind as you run on the treadmill. Though I was surprised at what I saw, Mike seemed to know the right shoes to try. He pulled several pair from their storeroom and had me try two different brands at once, then jumped on the treadmill again for a few minutes of running. He asked me which one felt better, (kind of like going to the eye doctor. "is this one good, or is this one better"), he had me try a couple of pairs and I settled on the Brooks Adrenalin 11. My feet, ankles and knees feel tons better than when I was running with my Adidas. Mike seemed to really know his stuff when it came to shoe tech and had me set up in no time. I plan to take my both my teenage kids there next week to get fitted for shoes as well. read more

I went in to Rush on the suggestion of a friend. My shoes had been giving me some troubles and he said they do some test and could set me up with a pair that would fit my needs. They had me run on a treadmill for a minute while they recorded it. We played it back and they showed me that I needed support for my arches. They then had me try on 4 or 5 pairs and had me pick the pair that I like the most. There was no mention of prices till this point and there was never any pressure selling of any kind. The pair I liked the best happened to be midpriced, so I guess my tastes match my spending habits. Anyway, the price was comparable to other shoe stores so I bought them there. If you're looking for sports shoes and don't know exactly what you need, I guarantee you these guys will. They also know anything and eveything about local runs that you can take part in. read more

I heard about this place within two weeks of living in Bentonville by a bunch of teammates so I decided to check it out. I've never been able to run injury free proceeding going to Rush Running but I loved running so most times I would run through the multiple pains (plantar faciatis, shin splits, patellar tendonitis). I decided ,after all my teammates request, to see what they are all about. I figured I knew everything about running and was just SOL because of poor genetics. Turns out I was wearing a neutral shoe and an orthotic that was doing absolutely nothing. I needed a superfeet orthotic and a high stability shoe according to the guys at rush. Less than a week of trying both consistently and the exercises they recommended I was 100% pain free besides small muscle tweaks here and there. Now I'm two years in still running strong!
