There's pretty much everything you want, although not necessarily need!…read moreThis was a pleasant shopping experience, although a weekday would have been preferable to a Saturday at noon. What i specifically came for was reading glasses which were present immediately on the right upon entrance. They had a decent assortment as well as blue block reading glasses which were 2 for $19.99 whereas the non blue blocker readers were 3 for $19.99. I was disappointed that you couod no longer try on a pair but rather had to utilize a reading chart which was suboptimal. Anyway, I did not come with a shopping list, thus purchasd significantly more of everything than I absolutely needed. Im impressed by the variety of things for sale there including a pharmacy for prescription medications as well as an optician. Im not sure if there was a rhyme or reason to their displays since I saw floor mats immediately adjacent to envelopes, although perhaps i was visiting their miscellaneous aile. $390 or so dollars later, I packed up my vehicle and returned home. I wish that there was a Sam's Club in my town of Gettysburg which does have an old Walmart which is in the process of a refresh. Anyway, a more than decent experience today save for the crowded ailes!

Best of all, the entire order was only about $17, an unbelievable value for the quality. Kennie's is my go-to grocery store. I hear the complaints of higher prices - however, when you…read morefactor in time and gas, their prices equal out, especially considering their frequent sales and specials. The meat, deli, seafood and produce departments offer as much (and sometimes more) variety than the big box retailers. I love that I can get freshly steamed shrimp, fresh hot soups and hot bar selections for the times I don't feel like cooking. When I was my Mom's caretaker, I could not have made it through without the deli, salad and hot bar. As to the employees? Unfailingly polite and helpful. Need a specialized cut of meat? They will cut it for you. Need that wonderful Sahlen's ham sliced a certain way? The deli will slice it custom. Looking for something special in produce? They will do their best to get it for you - and frequently offer produce from local farms. I love the convenience of being able to run to Kennie's as I need. Can't do that with the larger, more distant stores. In short, I am very happy that Kennie's is here in Spring Grove!

But if you just need a few things or something fresh from the bakery or hot bar Kennie's is a great choice. Every Friday they do mark down deals. The magnet mailer is always great for some good deals but they never keep the shelves stocked enough when they do these coupons. Decent size beer and wine section. Service is hit or miss. Usually the workers are very friendly but they can be slow. Normal days they only have 1 maybe 2 checkout lanes open so you have to do the self checkout which I prefer but a lot of older people shop here and they have to wait in the very long lines to checkout. If prices were better I would do all my grocery shopping here.

I don't like how the dairy section is cut up in sections. Butter and cream cheese in one case( back wall) yogurts, cheese over against the side wall. Milk is nowhere near either one. I'm not a fan of their meat. I just think the quality is lower than Weis or Giant ( more on-par with Food Lion). There is a large selection of Hispanic food items, including a small fridge case of Latino cheeses, etc. I have never had a big issue with employees. They are usually pleasant, though sometimes seem tired or bored. A few staff members are always friendly. There are at least five self checkouts and a few cashier manned ones open when I come in.
