Two parking lot entrances for east in and out. Ample parking for store size. Well organized and easy to find things. The store has everything from clothes, shoes, hunting gear, salt, dog food and treats, groceries, etc etc etc. I like looking around the store. The staff is nice. Rural King is awesome. Looking for Bird Seed? They've got it. Looking for baby chicks? They've got it. Looking for farming tools? They've got it. Looking for riding mower parts? They've got it. Looking for hunting accessories? They've got it. Looking for rugged outdoor wear? They've got it. Just about everything outdoors/farming/hunting related, chances are they've got it, and chances are at a very reasonable price. Located just off of I-69 in Fort Wayne, this location is easy to get to, and it's wall-to-wall merchandise. One of the things I love about Rural King is that, as far as I know, they don't build from the ground up, but they move into empty retail spaces and just start packing shelves. This location looks like it used to be a Kroger. Kroger moves out and Rural King moves in. They don't spend a lot of time and money doing huge renovations, they just clear it out, install shelve and start stacking. That's one of the charms of Rural King (and of the the things that keeps their prices down). On this visit I was looking for a particular bird seed, and I found it on the shelf easily. Some items can be hit-or-miss and on occasion some sections can be empty, but for the most part I've never been disappointed by Rural King. Popcorn. There's a popcorn machine just inside the front door and it's the first thing you smell. You can get a small bag free. You need to do this. You're stomach is growling because you haven't had lunch yet. read more

Went to my local Rural King after window shopping at several other stores. Found a great deal on a Caryon 6x12' trailer. Young man who ran the check out was very polite, well trained and efficient. The manager who assisted with the title paperwork and remaining details including the unlocking of the trailer in the parking lot was perfect. Very glad to have this store in my "back yard" 5 stars plus free popcorn ! read more

Maybe I'm a sucker for the baby chickens they are year-round, but I love the store! It's kind of like if Walmart and tractor supply had a special hug. I've always found the people to be courteous, knowledgeable, and very helpful to me with whatever I'm looking for. As said I emailed corporate customer service. Apparently they contacted the store and I received an email from a store assistant manager stating he would look into the issue. 2 weeks later I receive an email from the assistant manager stating that what he found out was there was a mixup in the online order, and my order was cancelled, and that I could order again. Which is what I was told the day I emailed to get a status update on my order. It took this bozo 2 weeks to "research" this outcome?! Incompetency full circle. I will NEVER patronize Rural King again. read more

Always busy with 1-2 registers open. Their system "crashes" every 30 minutes and lines become a 30 minute endeavor

Leaving this store currently as I type this. Now let me start that I fully understand what is going on currently in the world and understand that people are stressed and are over having to be around other people and be at work. BUT as someone looking to buy a pistol for self defense in these scary times I should not be greeted with disgust and seem like I'm an annoyance to the employees working the gun counter. "Are you buying a gun for self defense?" Immediately a look of annoyance and a rolling of the eyes came to the associates face. I did not feel welcome, I did not feel even comfortable. Stood there for a few minutes and decided that the way I was treated within minutes of approaching the counter that Rural King lost my sale. read more

This rural king is very frustrating. It's like they don't want customers to come back. I've been trying to return an item for a while. Today I was told "ohhh, sooooory, our server is down, we can't do returns today". After I get this item returned, it's Amazon from now on. I have spent thousands of dollars there in the past. I've had several positive experiences at the firearm counter the past few months, but today was different. With just one other customer there as I approached, I was treated as an annoyance when I asked a question about their stock. "What you see is what I got". But the kicker is this; he no sooner told me that when he grabs his walkie and asks another associate to bring out more stock to display. It was then that I decided to take my business elsewhere. I'm fairly certain that they had the one I wanted in the back as it showed in stock on their website. He just didn't want to fool with me I guess. It's a real shame as I've always viewed Rural King as my little secret when it comes to firearms as no one really thinks about them when thinking of purchasing. Hopefully RK will encourage their gun counter employees to try harder to get a sale. They lost one from me today. read more

I had wonderful help today at our rule King. I needed a 6 foot folding table, a wall clock and a box cutter. One young man help to me gather all my items, called for another young man to take it out to the car for me. When we couldn't get it loaded he took it back in with a sign on it saying I would be returning with a bigger vehicle. The store is a little dark but everything is neat and seems to be plenty of help. read more

It's a shame for the CEO to allow this certain Rural King to be open or at least fire the Store Manager, the firearms Supervisor, and the associate that helped me today. I don't want to hear the pandemic is stressing you out and that's why You're cranky. Some Americans never got shut down and have been working this entire time myself included. I don't want to hear the line was long and you felt stressed out. This has everything to do with you being a horrible salesman. I snagged a shotgun off the shelf and bought it... boom, then I was showing interest in buy other firearms. (This guy started to mock me for saying firearms) he was calling them guns or shotguns. he also kept making comments about how I'm buying a "firearm". Then I was looking at the handguns just after I asked if their was a limit on gun purchases. Simple question, but he started to laugh at me and said "no why?"and I asked to pick up a certain handgun that he said "he's taken shits better than that gun" with the information that I just gave you maybe use that information and salesman ability and persuade me to buy a better more expensive gun. Instead you insult me. As he pulls up the information on the computer I start having second thoughts and he then began to be sarcastic with me saying he's confused why I am not filing out the paperwork. I realize this man isn't a good salesman and refuse for him to take my sale..... I'd fire this man if I owned this location Rural king. read more

Tonight was my first visit to the store and I was not impressed at all. The flooring is uneven (chipped in several places), the lights by the registers telling you if they're open or not we're not on, things looked very unorganized, and the landscaping it's just horrible looking. If the parking lot would have been empty, I would've thought the store was closed. The cashier was friendly, she is the only staff person I needed to deal with. read more

Despite calling ahead and explaining in detail the add flyer I had in my possession, then stopping at the service desk on my way into the store to verify the price match, and after finally reaching the check out line, my price match was denied. A 100 mile round trip was for nothing! Important to note, that the savings would have been a mere $50 on what would be a combined purchase that day of over $1000. A very rude and seemingly uneducated woman that acted as the clerks superior, spoke over both the clerk and the store manager himself when he offered an explanation which only aggravated the situation. In the end, I contacted a corporate representative who likewise only seemed interested in protecting Rural King's $50. Ironic since my intention was never to force a $50 credit but rather to get some sort of acknowledgement that my 100 mile round trip should not have resulted in being told effectively, "too bad"! I had the option to have my purchase shipped from the store whose flyer I had in my possession, I regret that I didn't. I won't make that mistake again! It is this kind of customer service that will be the downfall of big box stores when competing against internet providers. read more
