I've always been a fan of Rural King, and this one has the most friendly people. They are always so happy, and anytime I hear a worker outside of the store, they always say they love working there. It's a home away from home when I walk in there. I've never been dissatisfied with anything I've purchased or been helped with! I love the store! read more

The reason I'm reviewing them a two is because they had dead chicks just sitting in the customer trash can and when I asked the farm manager he seemed happy about it. The reason the chicks are dead is because they don't take care of them, their water is always empty or spilt everywhere which can lead to health issues for the chicks. Same with the feed, it's always spilt too. When I'm righting this review I'm also talking about many other stores that sell animals not just this one rural king. They also don't care for their rabbits that they sell because they're kept in very small, metal cages that hurt their feet. I understand that they can't have very much room due to many reasons. But, there are many ways to upgrade their miserable lives. Like switching their water and food more frequently than just when it's empty. I was nice and gave them two stars though because they had all of the normal ones things as one store does. It's just makes me mad that no one cares about the quality of the animals lives in stores. read more

Placed two kayaks on layaway and planned to get them yesterday for my sons birthday tomorrow. Some idiot allowed them to be sold to someone else. I didn't flip out on those who refunded my money because idk who sold em and I won't blame all rural king workers for a few retards. I will mention how their own workers I know who previously worked there said they do it all the time and will let their workers get yelled at by customers who got screwed. Management won't take responsibility. DO NOT TRUST THEM FOR SOMETHING IMPORTANT, my son can't have the birthday gift I planned now. Everywhere is sold out. Effingham Illinois rural king management is worthless. Only giving two stars because the workers who refunded me did do all they could to help me. Management is too stupid to hold products they promised with their "layaway" #ManagementSucks #Untrustworthy read more

I go to Effingham Rural King for feed for our critters, horses, goats, chickens, ducks, catfish, dogs, cats. Well we couldn't be more satisfied. And we live about forty miles away but it's always worth it. Thank you everyone who works there. You do a great job. read more

We asked them if we could try some tuxes on or at least put something together for us to visualize since we were still unsure about what exactly we were looking for. The men who work there put us in front of a magazine and said pick what we like. Gave us some swatches and said let us know. We looked through and picked a few options. I asked them if we could see them together. They said they could order them for us because they do not keep any of those pieces in store...they order them. I asked them if they had anything in store they could just hold up to each other so we could decide on colors. They said no. We asked if we could do anything today to see what we liked and see about getting some rentals. They said we had to go online to "build a tux" and put something together. We thanked them for their time and left. We went home, went online, built our tuxes and saw the price. Little high in my opinion. I realized we forgot to ask when we need to have the boys go in and get measured. I called them and told them we looked online and our built tux and asked if those prices were true to store price. He told me there would be no prices listed online.......I was looking right at the number. When I told him this he said they would not be true to in store and didn't understand how I found a price. Cool.. But ANYWAYS. I asked him what kind of time line we needed for measurements. He said we needed to COME IN STORE TO SIGN UP AND GET LISTED WHO NEEDS MEASURED AND OUR WEDDING DATE. We were JUST THERE!!! Why were we NOT TOLD THIS?? I then asked what would happen if we ordered tuxes, got them in, and something didn't fit right. He told me it would be no problem because they KEEP EVERYTHING THEY NEED IN STORE and could just swap it!!!!! I don't normally rant about these things but... 1. We were JUST in store! Why were we not TOLD we needed to SIGN UP WHILE WE WERE THERE??? Now we have to make ANOTHER trip there!!!! 2. I wasn't even given a website to go to. Just told to go online....I had to find it myself. 3. They told me they couldn't put a few pieces together in store because they didn't have anything there...but THEN said they have EVERYTHING there in case something doesn't fit. I feel like they all need to get on the same page! When we were there they acted like they had a MILLION better things to do rather than help answer our questions. They acted like when I asked if we could see them together it was KILLING that salesman to tell me they "could" order it for us. Sorry if I'm being a pain! But this is our WEDDING! We would appreciate at least a little guidance with knowing the process and keep it consistent!!! By fiance is dead set on going here since they are local. If it was up to me we would be going elsewhere where they CARED to help us!! Sorry to be a pain Weber's! But thanks for the NO HELP!
