Menards is a good place to go if you're bored and it's raining or if you're stoned or if you're just a person that exists. Also I guess if you're trying to build/fix/make whatever people do. They set up in room sections and it's fun to walk through the light aisles, all lit up of course. Take a trip to the bath section where giant baths hang off the wall. Jacuzzis and showers and sinks and toilets fill aisles, dream up your dream home. Open and shut the doors in the makeshift house near the back of the store. Find the kid's play area and lounge in the patio sets. Go out to the green house/foliage/flower/plant section and wander around in season. I miss Menards. read more

Every staff person that we dealt with was very rude and would not help us find what we were looking for. At one point, my husband asked a sales rep if she worked here and she said "I'm employed by Menards and then said this isn't my section and then walked away. Another lady, in lighting and electronics offered minimal Help after we asked her for some metal tubing she waddled by the metal tubing, pointed to an area and walked off. This was a horrible experience most of the staff were rude and smart alecks. Don't plan on going back to mt vernon any time soon. read more

Prices are already high so they can price match and run competitors out of business. Management is rude and unhelpful. Staff seem scared of losing their jobs. When charged the wrong amount you will be told it will take five business days before your account is reimbursed. During Covid the management called police to have minors arrested for not wearing mask. read more

went to menards today to get lightbulbs... i go to check out and there's one more person in front of me (a man in his early 20s) our cashier was a girl in her early twenties as well (emma) once the girl scans all his items i put my one item on the belt the girl then spends the next 6 minutes flirting with the guy, standing there twirling her hair and touching his shoulders while i'm waiting to pay for my one item menards do better. Emma do your job. read more

I am so disappointed in the service I got after buying appliances at your store. The delivery service was horrible! They didn't even unbox anything. I wasn't told that we need to buy a plug for the stove. You need to fine people that will deliver and hook up all the appliances you carry in your store. I will never buy appliances from you guys again. I didn't want to give you a rating at all buy to post this you have to give at least one star. read more

Not sure why no one can ever help On the back lot. Lumber is ridiculous and you can't even have anyone help load . I am taking my business elsewhere. Worst customer service EVER read more

Hello, I just purchased a brand new Equator Brand Stackable Washer and Dryer from this Menards on Saturday. The dryer is making metal on metal scrapping noises and the water supply hose on the back leaks. It is faulty. When I called to speak with the appliance department - they told me they do not service the appliances. And I said I would like a return or possibly exchnage due to the appliance being broken. They told me I would have to pay a 25% RESTOCKING FEE - ON A BRAND NEW MACHINE THEY DELIVERED THAT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. This does not feel right AT ALL. When I call the Manufacturers Warranty...its a woman in India that can barely speak English. It is Wednesday and I still have no solution in sight...I would be happy to take this review down if someone from the Appliance Store would be willing to treat me fairly. THIS MACHINE IS BROKEN. Please call me to resolve 217-840-2673 read more

staff always seems helpful and usually knows what / where for things I need. Even if I don't quite know what I'm looking for, they seem to know what I need and where to look. love that 11% rebate also. read more

Well-staffed, well-stocked home improvement store. If I can't find it here, I probably don't need it!

absolutely an awesome store and i want to thank their employees who sold me my big deep freezer and my heated lift chair

I have had several issues with this store in particular they follow you around as if your lifting something they are rude from wearing a mask to when it's closing time just as Walmart does telling you rudely and announcing it a million times as if they couldn't stand to make a few extra dollars! The take peoples merchandise if you go in and want a refund and don't have a receipt I witnessed this happen to a woman one day as well as witnessing a woman have credit coupons and the register wouldn't take them when clearly the amount was written on it! I heard the cashier tell her they don't write the amount left on there however I just happened to be using one myself it not only worked but the same cashier then wrote the amount left on it! They aren't honest and their attitudes at this store in particular is ridiculous I will do whatever I can to not visit this one if at all possible. I think the moral needs to adjusted and I'm going to say this is due to a manager that needs to go!! There are a few nice ones here and there but for the most part they are rude. I have to say the fact that they do MAKE you wear a mask basically forcing it is as well ridiculous it's wrong and it's not at all practicing out freedom that we do have in this country. I have gone to another menards recently that DID NOT force a mask I think that should be each persons decision! This effingham store needs new staff starting with management the way customers are treated will eventually bite them...each time I go I see less and less business serves them right... read more

WORST Menard's!!! do not do any special orders from this place unless you are ready to get frustrated and ticked off, they will mess your order up loose your order forget to deliver your order and not just once or in any certain order. Menard's itself, great store, but Effingham's Menards, I have had many issues with on multiple occasion. I have now boycotted this menards after my latest purchase of roofing materials. I'd rather drive 5 hours somewhere else than spend the 5 hours (NO EXAGGERATIONS) on the phone with incompetent poorly trained workers. read more
