That being said, I don't want this 3 star review to discourage anyone! I just want to inform you about this place, so you can know if it what you're looking for. It didn't have the things I was looking for, but that doesn't mean it won't have what you're looking for. I came in, not looking for anything in particular, really. Just browsing and such, maybe looking for some records or books from 1905. It's a furniture and fine china mart. As to the "antique aspect"... I'd say maybe about 40% of the items there were what I'd consider antique. As in, pre-80s, maybe even mid-70s. But there were some beautiful pieces. Elaborate crystal chandeliers, heavy oaken tables, chess sets crafted from stone and marble, stunning Japanese-style room dividers with raised images and beautiful imagery. I was sort of afraid to touch anything because it was so brightly lit and so many things looked delicate. My idea of a perfect antique market is a mix of said beautiful furniture and other 1950s things. Dresses, photographs, typewriter in a bold case. This place was strictly fine furniture, with a smattering of jewelry and other random pieces (abacus, anyone), and was far too tasteful for my tastes. I'm a grungy, dig-through-this-room-and-find-treasures kind of person, not delicate stemware and principled manors. So if you've got cash to spare and a discerning eye for beautiful things, I'm sure you'd enjoy this place far more than I did.

I always enjoy visiting local furniture stores when I am in town for festivals because you just never know what you will find. This particular store had mostly furniture items placed in several rooms. I felt that the prices were a bit high for the quality of the pieces and the area. Now, I don't know if these were "festival" prices or everyday prices but several, (not all), of the price tags gave me pause. If you are looking for antiques, it is an option but I would prefer to just drive up to Dahlonega for great selection and pricing.

But what I love best about Rife is that they can and will custom make items for you based on your vision. I wanted live edge wood shelves for my great room and had an idea on the size and materials I wanted. Eric at Rife drew up a sketch, helped me pick out a nice slab of wood for the shelves, and Tim constructed it! And with the left over wood from the slab I chose, they built a nice little live edge table! I am happy that Rife is literally just up the road from me and constantly has different things to consider.

A young woman calmly pointed out that they were selling hate memorabilia from World War II, and instead of showing even a shred of responsibility or decency, the owners brushed her off and practically shoved her out the door. They didn't care. Not one bit. They stood there defending the garbage they were selling -- fake propaganda rooted in racism and violence -- as if it was no big deal. It is a big deal. It's hateful, it's offensive, and it's a slap in the face to anyone who has served or had family who served in that war. How on earth are we still living in a country where a business can openly profit from hate and pretend it's harmless? Shame on this store, shame on the owners, and shame on anyone who thinks selling racist, hateful items is acceptable in 2026.
