Its all their fault because they fail repeatedly to deal with basic requests like updating a card on file, and repeatedly screw up on the computer system. The owner insists on not having staff and putting his personal number but he never is available and becomes irate if you "bother" him Gym is small and ill equipped. Very hot and smells bad. Never any staff there in case of problems like beings locked out. Cant get ahold of owner during normal business hours and constantly acts like he is being bothered if you report broken equipment or anything Fitness SF is better anyway. I was going to keep both but the owner of this gym doesn't reciprocate loyalty Go here if you wanna get locked out randomly and repeatedly and belittled for making perfectly reasonable complaints. Im sure he will reply here claiming i am the problem but fyi all i did was say "im sick of this" and i think anyone would be after repeatedly getting locked out despite paying $125 a month. i see people having issues with getting locked out basically every day. The owner is aware but choses to not staff his gym or switch software systems The floor uses foam tiles so when you try to wheel the benches around they become dislodged and jam and create hazards. The owner makes rash decisions like putting 100lb dumbbells on a rack not suitable for such heavy weights so they fall on your feet, he is too stubborn and gets overly defensive if you try to point out any issue, and tries to deflect (its always the members or the staffs fault, never takes responsibility or ownership)

All I got was one warning text filled with typos, followed by a notification that my membership had been deactivated. Just like that. I asked them if they made a mistake and tried to see if there was any explanation but some guy named Derrick on some ego trip kept telling me I was a thief and full of BS, which was not on my bingo card. Maybe pick another gym

I love the lifting platforms where the squat racks are, and I think they utilize the space well eventhough it does get cramped in some places. Parking can be challenging in this neighborhood and I do wish they had some sort of hip thrust machine - they may have added that since I moved out of the area (I'm not 100% sure). I will say the owners are so receptive to feedback, and I can literally see that they invest the money they make back into their business. They expanded to the upstairs to provide more space to warm up, lift, and stretch. They provided more weights, machines, bands, and mats. Also, I mentioned they should have hairbands for women in case they forget them, and literally the next time I showed up they had them. They also do offer a free day trial (not super common in SF), and the owners are very kind and insanely accommodating. I'm happy it's not just a personal training gym like other places in the city and I feel like they fr wanna give back to the community as the owner did advocate to get a stop sign in a high traffic area. The owners and operators are super friendly and accommodating, it fr gives family business vibes. I love supporting black owned and family operated businesses. Overall, worth checking out and supporting if you live nearby.

My favorite amenity: showers in the bathroom, so I can go straight from yoga to whatever's next. With all that said -- don't expect bougie extras. The space could use a deep clean and some upgrades. Honestly, that doesn't deter me; I'm here for the yoga, not the ambiance. If you need it to feel like a spa, this isn't that -- head to the Marina instead.

The studio needs a deep clean (or two) as the baseboards are filthy in the studio and in the two weeks I was there the floors continued to be dirty and only "cleaned" by a very brief mopping inbetween classes. I've been to many studios, but the lack of removing the massive trails of sweat in between classes was not exactly hygienic. The bathroom as others have said also had pools of bodily fluids and hair. I understand it's a messy practice but employing someone whose role is to clean vs manage front desk and teach is paramount. Whatever they're doing now is not enough. This place needs an overhaul in the cleanliness department. I also didn't love that there was no gentle reminders for people who strayed off course for 26 & 2, going late during balancing postures, grunting, and ignoring the rule to breathe through your nose. A few bad apples ruined the bunch for me most classes. One in particular would *always* start his pose 30 seconds after she'd cued it. In my opinion that's something the instructor should've called out, especially when we were balancing. Overall I'll be looking elsewhere for a heated studio but hope this place finds its footing. There are some great people there.

You leave tired, but energized -- with that feeling that the hardest part of your day is already over, and you're ready to handle whatever comes next. I recently upgraded to three days a week, and honestly, I wish I had started sooner. My strength has improved, my cardiovascular fitness is noticeably better, and my back pain is gone. Most importantly, I can play with my three-year-old son without worrying about not being able to keep up with him. That alone has been huge. My advice: start with at least two days a week and stick with it long enough to see the gains. You will. Punch King is tough, but it works -- and you won't regret it.

When I went to renew my membership, the older woman at the front desk misgendered me. I corrected her quickly and then she went on to ask me questions about transgender identity. Not quite sure that your workplace is the place to ask me for a free education, but whatever. She is new and obviously doesn't know what she's doing and at the end of our conversation when I'm about to pay she starts misgendering me again. This is when I walked away. Y'all are not getting my 99$ a month plus a 150$ return fee (they said they didn't have the capacity to reduce or cancel the start rate unless I came back to speak to a manager on Monday.) The dude training her at the front seat was like a post in the mud and did not move to correct her even when he saw I was uncomfortable, he just kept moving scissors and junk around in the front desk as he stood by. I'm not going to pay so much for a gym that hires people with the intellect and personalities of wet noodles. No thanks! Planet Fitness looks like the better option in terms of cost. It's really sad because the staff at the YMCA Embarcadero were really diverse and cool about 6 years ago, I hope that hasn't changed. Either way, y'all aren't getting my money and this was a tremendous flop.
