Ian,
I first spoke with you over a year and a half ago when I was referred to you by a close friend. I had an issue with my property that went far beyond a simple real estate transaction. I was deceived by someone very close to me who asked to put a property under my name. This person was having financial issues and didn't want to lose it. Little did I know, I would later pay a hefty price for helping out someone that I trusted. The property that I was now an owner of had a very large tax lien, and an even larger federal bond lien along with several personal liens that were on the property. I was not able to sell the property even if I wanted to.
On one hand I felt hopeless. On the other hand I knew that if I didn't find a way to make it work, there would have a larger price to pay.
Ian, the truth is before I got your phone number from our mutual friend, I called 10's of brokers. I looked for answers wherever I possibly could. Most people knew they couldn't sell the property at the time because of all of the liens, so there wasn't much talk about it (which is very understandable).
I remember our first conversation when I told you my story. I didn't know what to expect. I was shooting in every direction trying to make it work. You knew that there wasn't much that you could do, but you decided to try and help me out anyway. We were in touch for over a year before I was able to sign a listing agreement with you. In that year you called me once a week to see how I was doing. You tried everything you could to help me figure out a solution. For over a year you worked your ass off trying to help me with no monetary benefit. It came from the goodness of your heart.
A couple of months ago, we were finally able to get to point A; putting the property on the market. We didn't have much time to sell the property as there was already a date scheduled for a tax sale. You didn't promise me that you would sell it, but you did promise you would do everything in your power to sell the property.
Recently, you called to let me know that I was officially no longer the owner of the property. You kept your word that you would do the best that you could, and you sold the property.
After long days and nights of desperation and heartache, you came through for me Ian. My appreciation for you is hard to put into words. Not every broker has the capability, the patience, professionalism or the determination to do what you did. But you did it. Running Realty may not be the biggest real estate brokerage in California, but there is none better.
I appreciate you not only as my broker, for in the process you became a good friend. You are one of the few people that I can trust. At a time when I was close to giving up, you gave me a light at the end of the tunnel. I will be forever grateful for everything that you have done for me and wish you and Running Realty great success in the future. You are the only person I will recommend when it comes to real estate, and I definitely look forward to doing business with you again. read more
