If you need shoes, come here! The service is beyond amazing. They definitely have your best foot interests in mind. They have you walk without shoes on and recommended shoes based on your own personal needs. They also make sure that they watch your walking while trying on the shoes and monitor if you are walking well with them on. You can also go in with a specific shoe in mind and just grab those. You don't have to have them make suggestions/recommendations, as there is no pressure. They also have a wide selection of shoes to choose from. I ended up going with a pair of New Balance, and my mother-in-law went with a pair of Asics. I highly recommend this place for your walking/running/shoe needs. read more

I love this running store! They have a great selection of shoes, clothes and other running gear. I just got some goodr sunglasses here, which I've heard a lot of good things about. I love mine and it's a great price point. Conveniently located downtown, making it a great place to pop into if you're walking around! read more

The best fitters for you, your feet, your shoes and your run. Easy parking and close to a ton of other shops and places to eat.

I have a-lot of foot pain due to being flat footed and having plantar fasciitis. I was waking around downtown Colorodo spring and ran into runner roosters. I went in side and was Greeted immediately, I told him the issues I was having and proceeded to take a look at my stride. After looking , he stated that I had pigeon toe ( which I had no idea ) and had me try on a few pair of shoes and a pair of slides. He checked my stride on all the shoes and was very informative when explaining the different benefits of each shoe. I proceed to purchase the HOKA ONE ONE and it's like a whole new world where I'm walking on a cloud. Very comfortable shoes and you can feel the cushions with every stride you take. This place is a great place to go if you have foot pain or you just want to buy some long distance running shoes. Highly recommend!!!! read more

DO NOT GO TO A BIG BOX STORE OR SHOP FOR SHOES ON-LINE! My wife and I have been going to Runners Roost for years. Today while shopping for a new pair, the owner Gary spent close to an hour fitting me properly into a pair of shoes. He brought out 8 pairs of shoes and watched me walk in each pair to see how I was responding to each shoe. The prior day we went to a new, large store in the CS area. The sales people were quite nice, but, were clueless when it came to a proper fitting. Do yourself a favor, go to a store that knows what they are doing. Selection, value, service and the overall experience were a 10. Thanks to all at Runners Roost for your excellence over the years!! read more

I've been to this store several times over the years. Time and time again the staff is knowledgeable, a helpful guide to own decisions, and is so friendly. The manager recently helped me with tips for my tri race, thank you!! I've also been helped by Orlando who is the best!! Orlando thank you for your help and guidance! You are patient, knowledgeable, genuine and truly care about us as individuals! Also, thanks for always making me laugh! Orlando is one of your best!! You guys rock!! read more

I needed new running shoes very badly. I had been spoiled previously by an expert running shop in the city I lived before and did not think I would find one here in CS. Boy was I wrong. I walked in to be immediately greeted by friendly employees and got fitted in no time. I could tell they wanted me in the best shoe for me, not price or sale, but genuinely cared I was happy and in a shoe that could help me perform. Go here for your running needs and supplies, you won't regret it read more

Awesome, friendly service. I was just in town for a few days and needed socks and NUUN.

Staff was great helping with the right shoes for our needs. Good selection of quality shoes

They did a great job helping me pick out a great comfortable pair of running shoes, I will definitely be back!

I was in dire need of new running shoes. I went in and Jake helped me. I tried on 5 different pairs of Shoes, different brands and different widths. I was very happy to walk out with 2 pairs of shoes, one pair was on sale. They also offer a military discount. The nice thing is they have a long strip in the middle of the store so you can jog up-and-down the store to try the shoe. read more

Great place with plenty of options available to fit your needs. I am from out of town and stopped by this location because I was having trouble with my shoes. Orlando was great he went through like five pairs of shoes till we got the right fit. Thanks for your help! read more

I had a really great experience here. I came in just to browse, but then I saw a shoe I'd been wanting to try on for a while. Jake grabbed a pair for me and gave me some more info on it while I tried it out. It turned out not being my favorite, but then Jake grabbed a slightly different model which I ended up loving! I work in a different running store in California, so I could have gotten the shoes I bought for a discount back home. However, due to the awesome service I received from Jake, I decided to buy them right then and there. Thanks for you help! This is a guy who knows his stuff. read more

Excellent customer service! The shop employee evaluated my foot placement when I walked and had me try 3 different brands of shoe. I chose Brooks brand and it is so comfy and provides good support. Their clothing including socks is worth exploring as is the nutrition section. The military discount was a nice surprise. Highly recommend! read more

Runners Roost was one of the most helpful running stores I have ever been to. I just relocated to Colorado Springs a few weeks ago and due to the elevation change I wanted to start running to get acclimated faster. Unfortunately for me, I developed shin splints, a runners worst nightmare. My friends recommended I visit a running store to make sure I am wearing the proper sneakers. Runners Roost was conveniently located downtown and employs the most knowledgable, courteous, and kind individuals. Linda was absolutely amazing. She first had me run in my own sneakers and was able to determine what type of runner I am. I found out that I have been wearing sneakers that are a size too small for me, go figure! Linda had me run a few laps in different types of sneakers and watched intently as my feet struck the ground. About 20min later I purchased the perfect running sneaker, Brooks! I was so pleased with their service I brought my husband to get fitted for new sneakers! Runners Roost is without a doubt a 5-star establishment and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase new sneakers, or to find out what type of sneakers they need to fit their athletic lifestyle. read more

Great shoes, great people, expert service!

Came in from out of town earlier this evening and decided to stop into the store for a new pair of running shoes. When my sarcastic greeting was immediately returned with a great rebuttal - I knew I'd come to the right place!! Social and approachable employees are a definite must in a running shop. My receipt (because I definitely made a purchase) says that Patrick was my salesman, but I'm not 100% sure who it was that helped me find my new running shoes. There were two employees working, and both were very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a gait analysis done, and were presented with a variety of shoe options. I found a great new pair of road running shoes as well some new socks. I am very happy with my experience, and am looking forward to hitting the pavement (or rubber track?) with my new digs. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great running shop in downtown Colorado Springs. read more

Just called about a specific pair of shoes and the associate was not helpful. In fact he was rather rude. Cut me off in our conversation. You just lost yourself a future 150.00 plus sake mister. Offended and not happy read more

I went Friday to Runners Roost midday following research from the Internet. The owner took the time to listen to what my issues were, and what I thought I wanted based off my research. He showed me what I thought I wanted and he showed me what he thought would meet my needs! He was right!!! I am now running without shin split pain, and I can't believe how the right shoe made such a difference! Thank you Thank you!!! Finally a girl not in pain! read more

Really liked the advice on running hydration equipment from salesperson. What a great job!

This is 100% the best running specialty store in Colorado Springs in my opinion. Gary And Linda are so friendly and helpful that I'll drive across town to buy shoes from them. I'd recommend them to any of my friends. I've shopped there for 10+ years. read more

5 Stars all the way! My family happened upon Runner's Roost and I'm so glad we did. Gary was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to educate us about the difference between running shoes, cross trainers and trail shoes. He patiently brought out different styles and brands for us to try on. We are not exactly accomplished athletes but he made us feel at home and answered all of our questions. We ended up buying running shoes and trail shoes for myself and running shoes and pants for our daughter. We felt like we made a great friend and we're buying all our running shoes from Runners Roost from now on. Thank you Gary for all your help, you've earned our loyalty. read more

We went to the Runners Roost on 12-30-19 just before 2:00 P.M. to buy running shoes. Staff did not greet or acknowledge us when we entered the store, but they appeared busy so we browsed the store waiting for them to help the other customers already present first. After waiting for over ten minutes, my husband stood by the register and waited for the staff, but neither of the two store associates offered us any assistance or spoke to us. I sat down and waited for the staff to finish with the other customers, but when they had completed their shopping and left the store, the staff set about tidying up and avoided us rather than assist us with a shoe purchase. After 16 minutes and no sign of being helped, we left. Terrible service. I do not recommend. read more

I visited Runner's Roost Monday, 5/08/18.My sales associate was Carlos. He was wonderful and knowledgeable. I was so very frustrated by the poor information and lack of knowledge I had received from numerous sporting goods stores. I was purchasing shoes that were not up to the task and it was taking a toll on my body. As a 60 year old woman, I walk a minimum of 5 miles 5 nights a week and I needed shoes that would support my overall body properly. Carlos took his time with me and offered me a wide range of choices. I settled on a pair of Saucony. I drove straight to one of two favorite walking spots. I took shoes from box, put them on and started.my walk. 5 miles, no knee or sciatic pain. They were wonderful. Two hours later I took a 6 mile evening walk. Still awesome. I woke up a bit sore of course from lots of muscle work, but no actual pain that stretching couldn't resolve. Carlos was wonderful, the shore are wonderful and Runner's Roost will remain my go to.place. Please help them as they help us, by shopping in store, instead.of online. Gabrielle B. read more

I had a great experience at Runners Roost. I stopped in to look for a new pair of running shoes and walked out two pair! The employees were very friendly and approachable, they were patient with me and helped me try on about 8 pairs of shoes. They asked me what I was looking for in a pair of shoes and assessed how I walked and ran in each pair. I purchased a pair of saucony for running/workouts and a pair of brooks to wear during my 12 hour shifts as a nurse! I am so grateful for their knowledge and patience! I would highly recommend them for your next pair of tennis shoes! read more

Runners Roost - Sports Wear Near Me - Colorado Spring, Colorado

My family and I have bought almost all of our running shoes from Runners Roost over the past 14 years because of the personalized and expert service that is their trademark. My last pair of Brooks were becoming extremely worn due to many more miles being logged during the pandemic, so worn that even I noticed the uneven strike when walking (and I am not a great observer). I left a message on the store's voicemail and promptly had a call back from Gary who told me he had a couple of different options in stock. I had a new pair of Brooks within just a couple of days. Thanks, Gary! My feet (and knees) are happier and I was glad we could help out in some small way during the pandemic. Stay safe and I'm sure I'll need another pair before long given the miles we are still logging (safe distancing at all times) during the remainder of this stay-at-home time period. read more

The people here are the BEST. Seriously, this is why it is so essential to support local businesses; it's the people. I am not a real runner, I'm more like a leisure runner/jogger. Still, it's important to have the correct footwear. I highly recommend Runners Roost. read more

Gary the owner not only knows his stuff but treats you with respect and patience. He really listens to you and wants to help make you enjoy your run. Helped me pick the shoe to get back on the trail after back surgery. I would give the store 10 if I could. read more

Rudely, my wife and I came in to the store 30 minutes before store closing on a Sunday night. Having worked in retail, I know how that can rub you the wrong way. Two young gentleman were working - I wish I had caught their names to give them kudos. Both were helpful, non pushy and professional. They listened to what we were looking for and made some recommendations. When I asked about a more expensive brand that I had previously worn (I can't wear sneakers now due to a foot injury), they offered to bring them out to try but openly advised the name probably wasn't worth the money given my wife's shoe needs. It's so rare these days to not be pushed to buy the most expensive item in retail so they can make a bigger profit! Anyway, we listened to their recommendations and found that they were right. Ultimately, we decided to hold off on buying the pair of shoes as we didn't want to make a rush decision and the store was about to close. However, these two gents were gracious and never gave us a hard time or offered anything other than support. We will be back here given this store superior and non judgmental attitude. Well done! read more

My husband and I were visiting Colorado Springs, had some free time, and decided to see if this store could help me with my plantar fasciitis pain. The two staff members there on 7/3/16 were very helpful. I must have tried on 10 pair of shoes but they were persistent in finding a pair of shoes and inserts that would improve my walk. this place has an OK inventory, however customer service leaves much to be desired. We went there to purchase running shoes. The staff appeared to be goofing off off, chatting amongst themselves, while we stood there waiting for assistance. After about five minutes we left in disgust. read more

BEST running shoe store ever. Traveled from PA to visit a friend. I have been fitted for my last few pairs of running shoes but here they WATCHED me run! There is a track lane down the store and my salesperson, Jenn, initially asked what I've been running in and whether I liked them/was unhappy. I had been running in neutral shoes for last 5 years that other specialty running shoes put me in. About a month ago I went in to my usual running store saying I was having IT band issues and they told me to foam roll more and sent me out in the same Brooks. Here, after 2 seconds of watching me run they identified that I needed a stabilization shoe and helped me pick out the perfect pair. They even talked me out of the more expensive shoes I thought were cuter because I didn't run as well in them. Amazing service and I can't wait for my next training run. Will just have to come back to Colorado when it's time for another pair. read more
