I would like to start off by saying I had been using Icono financial for the past two years and I…read morehad never asked or inquired about what they were doing with my books until a Final notice letter came in the mail to me from the government, about a payment that was due.So I reached out to them regarding the letter in February into October, yet i kept receiving the same letter in the mail. I had consulted with them and passed these documents onto them on multiple occasions. It was their job to handle my tax documents and tell me what to pay and when. I have payed them $350 per month for their services to handle my accounting. Finally I had reached my limit with the penalty payments the government was demanding from me, and I drove down to Icono's office and I asked them to tell me what the problem was and why I continued receiving this letter. I waited for about 5 to 10 minutes and finally they figured out I had a payment due from 2014 taxes, and told me just to go online and make a payment. I said OK, no problem, so I logged into the site to make a payment. Because of the late response time there were $300+ dollars in penalties. Even worse, the government sent me to collections which ruined my credit, all because they wouldn't take 5 minutes of their time to review a document I was paying them to review. So, I sent them emails regarding my frustration and anger as a result of this incident. I did not get an apology all I received were excuses. I asked them to reimburse me for the late fees and if they did not, I would take them to court. Finally they reimbursed me for the late fees that I had to pay because of their mistake or lack of negligence. But in the end my credit was ruined. My second issue happened 3 weeks after this incident causing me to draw the line and fired them. I was applying for a loan for a property and that bank asked for my tax returns which I emailed over to them. The lender got back to me regarding my tax returns, they were incorrect saying that my business loaned me $123,000 and asking where that money came from, how funny is that, since I'm applying for a loan. So I forwarded the email that the lender sent to me to Icono financial and they said they would fix it, however, they charged me $380 to fix the mistakes they made, which i already paid $1,100 for those business tax returns and $400 for my personal taxes. How crazy is that? On top of it they are charging me to fix their mistake. I like to thank God for pointing all these problems out to me in time before I continued on with their services and got into real trouble with the IRS. To top it all off, they sent me an email saying it doesn't seem you are happy with our services and should feel free to look for a new bookkeeper. Wow! That says a lot about who they are.
