They charged him $380 to tow his two seater 6 miles. I called him for a breakdown. $250 for the tow. $ 100 because it wouldn't start and he needed a winch (ummmmm...that is included in tows). And a 10% ($30) fee to use his debit card. Are you kidding me??? They took advantage of him because he is a young kid. I called three other tow companies in the area to see if their rates were similar. They were blown away by the scam these people pulled on my son. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. My roommate and I are college students here and have never been in an accident before. Unfortunately, a couple nights ago we had one and needed a tow company to help out. He gave us a reasonable price and also connected us to a mechanic since we didn't have any connections in the area. He took the time to explain to us what was probably wrong with the car, helped us find parts for affordable prices, and even took pictures of the damage to send to his repair contacts. He was offering his advice to find cheaper alternatives to deal with this accident. We ended up with a really affordable repair shop. With the damage of the car and a short distance from the repair shop (~3 miles) we paid $400. It might be a lot but he at least went out of his way to help us save money elsewhere. Nick definitely had our best interests and was super helpful in an unfortunate situation.
