Old trees, charm, all the houses nearby are different - my Grandma - a fairly well off city girl from Europe approved - and I can see why. Coming to the USA with nothing but two suitcases and 3 kids she quickly worked her way up to the Land Park neighborhood. A stunning house with 4 car garage, metal roof and pool. She loved old Sacramento and looked down on village or town or junky places. She too good for that. Piggy was too good for that. The romantic river once had the pirate boat shows - pig pig loved them. The old bridge - I love driving over that. Come here stretch your legs - now is the perfect time before it heats up for the summer.

You have museums...trains..boat cruises..all in walking distance to this wholesome place! They have 5 star restaurants such as Vs Paradise and The Firehouse plus more casual places like Joe's Crab Shack. It is kiddo friendly with old time candy shops as well! If you want to slow down the pace and relax come here! I stay at the Delta King when visiting and walk around at night feeling totally safe ( well lit ). Enjoy the 60 foot Christmas tree and the Polar Express Train rides!

REVIEWER #1 Okay, so…read morewhen I hear a Taco Festival I am expecting the BEST well known Taco Trucks to be there...Right? Well I was so wrong! ARGH. Good thing I didn't make this only the only event to attend on a lovely Saturday, OH BOY! I would have been disappointed. I walked in around 12PM and it was a good amount of people. They had about 10 booths and it was along the streets of Del Paso Blvd which they had most of the areas blocked off. It cost $10 to get in, plus you had to pay for the food and drinks. I was kind of excited to see what tacos trucks they would have there to represent the festival and the options were not high end or nothing to brag about: *Jimboys Tacos- Tacos were aight but nothing to brag about. However the taco shell was nice and crunchy. The seasoning was salty, which was unbearable after the 5 bite. *Azteca Street Tacos-Long to pay and wait for food was a disaster! *Tina's Tacos Catering-Sold out by 1PM!! WTF?? They also have other vendors there such as: *Issa's Gelatos- No Yelp page for this business *Snowie- No Yelp Page for this business *Spirit Cakes- Selling their cakes and cookies *Little Rich's Italian Ice *Pork Daddy's BBQ No bathrooms or porta pottys in the area. Wtf? With the hot weather and all the water I just can't believe it! Also no trash cans so people are just throwing all their trash on the floor...so disappointing! Conclusion of the story-They cannot get 3 stars!! Only 2.5! And I'm being generous! I heard they were not doing well last year and I see the status hasn't changed. Would I come back next year? NA, I can get tasty tacos in my area for much cheaper and tastier! ..NOT WORTH COMING Review # 38/196

I mean, this event put together by Macy's and Yelp was meant for family time. Alas, since I didn't feel like borrowing anyone's offspring, and drive-in movies aren't my gig, I'll be honest and say I drove all the way out to 50 & Bradshaw from Natomas to claim my Yelp Elite "Macy's Great American Drive In" goodie bag. So, I got there at about 6pm (gates didn't open until 6:30pm), and I was third in line. Gates opened promptly on time, and my Yelp Elite ticket got me my goodie bag. My haul included what's pictured in the avatar for this event: Macy's Great American Drive In canvas bag, frisbee, light-up yo-yo, and light-up ring, along with a Macy's savings pass, a bag of Cracker Jacks, and a cool Macy's blanket. And, gosh, can't forget the $10 Macy's gift card! Quite the haul, and totally worth the drive from Natomas :) I did park for a bit, and noticed a nice bouncy-house thing being utilized by multiple kiddies. Also saw that a few food trucks were there: Smoothie Patrol, OMG Burger, and OM Karmabile. If I wasn't already stuffed from eating at Krush Burger earlier, I would have partaken in one of those offerings, but it was nice that they were there. All in all, this event was nicely done. Though I didn't stick around, I'm sure those that made it a family night out made the most of it. :)

I spent 3 hours exploring the museum and it has a great variety of arts! The museum is quite sizable with 3 floors as well as a cafe and a little shop on the first floor. They recommend starting on the third floor and working your way down. They have maps available at the front desk and maps at the stairwells to help you navigate through the different rooms and floors. Through the museum they have benches to sit and observe at the works, it's perfect if you want to sketch some of them too! Admission is $15 and they have discounted tickets for students, military, and seniors for $10, for ages 6-17 tickets are $8, and children under 5 are free. It's a great place to spend an afternoon or if you're looking for something to do in Sacramento. They open Wednesday through Sunday 10AM to 5PM and they're open late on Thursdays til 9PM! There is a small paid parking lot $1.50 per hour, with 4 hours max; street parking is more expensive. ---- Overall: I had a fantastic time walking around and sketching, a great time all around

So the kiddo was in town from the Navy and she along with one of my other daughters has always been…read moremy "foodie" partner in crime.Always pushing to try new places, always pushing my boundaries-it's a good thing to have in life.Well this particular visit was coming to an end and we had one last meal together and she wanted pizza, but she knew what buttons to push with me when she was like,"I don't want pizza that I had before" -So I had to go thru my foodie rolodex and I remembered a spot that I've always cherished and held in high regard but had never taken her-I decided on Masullo on Riverside Blvd. That particular day everyone was being lazy and didn't actually want to go out so I decided to call in my order and just pick it up.I know at times in the past in their busiest times they sometimes don't take to-go orders,so I was relieved when I called them and they were able to take my order. There were 3 of us eating so decided to go with 2 pizzas-The American($22.00) which is basically mozzarella and pepperoni and the 3 Meats(($25.00) which is mozzarella ,ricotta, salami, sausage & mortadella. Parking at this location is pretty thin but luckily I was able to snag a spot at the business next door as it was a Sunday evening and they were closed. When I got there at the time they told me my food was ready,it wasn't quite ready but that was ok,they offered me water while I waited and it gave me a little time to look around,as it's been a bit since I'd been there.Masullo is an interesting restaurant,it's for sure not like a family friendly place per se,it's much more like "date-night" vibes for sure but not like a place for celebration,it's much more intimate-if I was a person still in the dating scene-I would definitely choose this place as a first date spot-it has that kind of feel for sure but it's still casual somehow. After a short wait-I got my pizza and man did they look and smell good-I got to admit I had to grab a slice once I got into the car-I couldn't helped myself-1st 5 minutes of a pizza is yummy. Once I got in and we dug in,I was reminded of why I love their pizza so much and to me why they are in contention for best pizza spot in the entire city.Their pizzas are smaller than you would expect, kind of like a super-sized personal pizza,so the slices are smaller-but the quality of the ingredients and the authentic Neapolitan wood-fired pizza style they use to make their pizzas are just perfection. I will admit-the 2 pizzas I chose were not very creative-they have an ingredient list that is so creative if one wanted to try some unique combos-but for some reason I've just stuck to the same pizzas every time I ordered. I saw on the menu that they also have pastas-salads & desserts but I have never indulged into those items. They also have a pretty extensive wine list. Elephant in the room of course is the cost-this isn't a cheap place,$25 for basically a personal pizza isn't cheap but the quality of the pizza and the charm and ambience of the place make it all seem worth it in my books-not every week but whenever the time is right-this is definitely on the list of places I have happily taken my wife on our date nights and will continue to do so. In closing If your ever want to try a really good pizza spot that's most likely different than your regular pizza spot-I would fully recommend heading down to Masullo to enjoy one of their great pizza creations-you won't regret it. PS-My foodie daughter who tried Masullo out for the first time with this visit really loved it and was irritated with me for "gatekeeping" one of the best pizza spots in Sacramento-kids these days I tell ya.
