Brilliant store, it may be a little further out of town but you can also buy from their on line…read moreshop. I've bought little candles and tea lights from the store and I'm pretty keen on a candelabra that I spotted on line, which holds a pot in the centre for flowers. All the items in here are very well chosen and pretty cheap all things considered. There's traditional married with modern vases, photo frames, jewellery, fragrances and more. Definitely one for ze ladies!

Friends have bought me things here and I have bought things for my friends here. Why one star? I popped in to browse their sale today, all was well until a lad came in to see if he could drop off his CV. One of the two ladies who was working accepted his CV while he continued to browse the store. He had a question about the candles on clearance; did the price reflected on the tag mean per candle or the whole set? The lady told him it was per candle, not the whole set. He placed the candles down, thanked her and walked out. This is when the lady who gave him the price clarification looked at the lady working behind the counter (presumably the owner of the store) and goes "he is a bit too crazy for you, huh?" To which, the lady behind the counter while dealing with a customer goes "yes, he is a bit too crazy." Sorry? I can't imagine what the both of you have been through in your life to categorize a customer who is merely looking for a price check to be "too crazy" for you. Is it because he thought the sale price was for all the whole set of candles instead of per candle? Then maybe you shouldn't have wrapped all the candles together to reflect only one price? If your product or the pricing is not 100% clear, expect customer queries and respect that. There will always be "back talk" but to openly voice those comments in front of other customers? Unprofessional and tactless. I support small businesses because I admire their community vision, distinctive character, and local entrepreneurship. What I saw today left a bad taste in my mouth and shows that we all need to be more kind to one another.

A real blast from the past this one, Located on Chiswick High Road near the High Road Brasserie,…read moreyou will find a small and unimpressive entrance to this weird and wonderful collection on nostalgia, antiques, American, art deco and retro furniture and other household items. It is a labyrinth of corridors, stairways, rooms and mini shops offering an amazing collection of everything old and antique that you may want to buy for your castle. Go there just for the spectacle, it is a truly amazing experience to walk among all of this clutter and stuff (I wanted to say junk) but I am sure they have some really expensive pieces. 1950's and 60's table lamps, fashion, table, chairs and chest of drawers are everywhere, as are the chandeliers - you don't go here to buy something, you go here to find something.

This has got to be one of the more interesting shops on Chiswick High Street. It's a great place to come if you're looking for something to complement the IKEA or whatever brand forms the majority of your household furnishings. I didn't go with anything particular in mind but then I think that's probably the best frame of mind to be in when it comes to this sort of shopping. This way you allow yourself the true novelty of emotion when you realize you've found the stuffed owl you never knew you wanted. I quite liked the look of a few of 1950's American diner style kitchen stuff, cocktail shakers and drinks trolleys, that sort of thing but on this occasion I left as I came in. It's all about taste somewhere like this, it's eclectic and nothing will appeal to everyone but pop in, have a look around, something probably will.

This is what could reasonably termed an "experience", but it fails on every point. Service is lackadaisical( difficult to see how they justify the service charge). The food looks pretty, but isn't very special in terms of taste or presentation ( probably not helped by the fact it has to be carried in from a separate building), and was served on a ridiculous cake stand/vase that effectively conceals your dining companion. Crockery is cheap looking and charmless. The price difference between the plain tea and the version with a single glass of Cremant ( served, disappointingly, in a warm glass) is £15 ( 45 versus 60). It's easy to buy an entire bottle for that, at retail prices. God help you if it rains ( you'll be dripped on- the greenhouse is not weatherproof). Don't bother, especially if you're paying.

Old & disparate furniture is scattered around, directly on the nude earth floor and in between large pots of green & colorful plants. Beautiful flowers are set on each table. It's like a picturesque scene of Alice in Wonderland. You feel like a little kid entering a magical wild world, where birds talk and nature is alive. It's all very comfortable and cute. And on a sunny warm day, it's the ideal getaway for lunch. The menu is small but fresh and seasonal. Vegetables seem to be at the center of many dishes. And fish was quite predominant when I was there. Everything sounds delicious and it definitively is! They well deserve their 1-star michelin. I had the squid to start with and it was super nice!!! I'm usually not a big fan but the squid was very well cooked (quite soft), on a yummy piece of bread and in a very tasty sauce. Then I had the halibut. The fish was cooked to perfection, very moist and the mayonnaise was mouthwatering :P For desserts, we shared the rice pudding and the chocolate tart. To die for. Both of them. Point. The staff is friendly and fast. So all good there. If you want to spoil your better half, this is the perfect summer romantic spot. The gardens are a nice little after-lunch discovery too. And if you feel really chilled out, you can sit next to the fountain and profit from the sun rays. Or just roll out into the fields around and have a lazy rest in the green grass of Richmond park.

They also source their wood and glass (for their mosaic collection) from sustainable forests, 86% of their glass is recycled. The most educational part of my visit to the store was their fully fitted 'library' it had paint samples, tiles, rugs and wood sample that you can also experiment with and mix and match, very hands on. Products are displayed concisely and intelligently in what can only be described as a quality environment. I am contemplating showing them my hand made tile collection, it would be amazing to have my creations alongside theirs.
