Since moving into our home in 2022, we've had a bird's nest tucked into one of our roof cutouts--right at the peak, making it impossible to reach. Over time, more nests began appearing in other areas, and we even noticed pigeons settling under our solar panels. We decided it was time to find a contractor who could give us peace of mind by securing our pop-outs and solar panels to prevent further nesting. After getting quotes from four different companies--each offering a range of solutions--Ruffled Feathers stood out as the most practical and effective choice. Their work has completely solved the problem. We haven't seen a single bird on our roof since, and we're thrilled to know they can no longer nest on our structures. read more

The pricing was fair and the job was done so well that I am leaving a review 6 years later because we haven't had any problems with birds under our solar panel and very few instances of birds in our roofline. He didn't up-sell us and even recommended not doing some of the preventative measures we thought we needed because they aren't worth the extra money. read more

The pigeons seem to love our roof. They like to nest under the solar panels and create bird-dropping problems. We finally got fed up, and contacted Ruffled Feathers. Ian came out and gave us a quote beforehand. We decided to get barriers around the solar panels. He also cleaned all the droppings that have been accumulating. He did a very thorough job. I hope I can now enjoy the backyard without the ugly sight of droppings. read more

My husband and I were very pleased with their service for our pigeon problem. From the initial online contact, scheduling a visit for a quote and completion of service, Ian was on time and did a fantastic job! We would recommend them to anyone! Even our dog and cat loved him! Ian is a very knowledgeable man, he knows what he is doing. He is a one man show and may take a day or so to get back to you. He's usually on the top rung of the ladder and dealing with bird poop! I requested spikes, but when he arrived he was asking me about the birds and pointing out the birds names and said they would nest on top of spikes. He installed a metal mesh and it worked perfectly. I don't see the mesh but I don't see any bird mess! I'm a happy camper! Give him a call, leave details and a call back number or email him Ian@rfbirdcontrol.com read more

Great work, great product, great follow through. Pricing was competitive. No more pigeons.

Although we loved being awoken every morning by the lovely sounds of birds chirping, these little fellas were slowly turning into pests. The nest was getting bigger, expanding to other hidden area on our roof and causing damage to our home. We called Ruffled Feathers for assistance and were very pleased with the service. Ian was response, provided us options, and was very thorough with his inspection. Very reasonably priced and just like that our problem was solved. Not only did he seal the area where the birds were making their home, he also cleaned up the 'evidence'. Would definitely call again if needed, but I don't think we will :) read more

It's been a few years since I've had Ruffled Feathers out. The bird invasion is gone. He came, I believe, Ian, got to work and no more birds intimidating me at home! Very personable, haven't been bothered since and the price was on point! Wish Ruffled Feathers did other pest control. This was awesome! Thank you! read more

For the past couple of years, I would need to clean an enormous amount of bird poop in my backyard. It wasn't until recently that I figured to have someone take a look at my roof since I could hear birds on my roof all the time. I soon found out that birds have been nesting under my solar panels. After calling around multiple places for solar panels exclusion services, Ian offered the the best value based on the materials that he used for the metal screen (PVC coated galvanized metal). Ian was very professional and kind from the start. He was never a pushy salesmen from when he first came out to provide a free quote. And when it came time for the install, he made sure to clean the roof and gutters really well. He even went out of his way to mention that my solar panels have overspray paint from when my house was first constructed. And he helped remove construction debris from my roof/gutters. Very nice guy and easy to talk to. And based on the before/after pictures, he did a really good job. I can't recommend Ian and Sarah enough. read more

Great experience from beginning to end. I had pigeons set up camp under my solar panels, they were making a mess and noisy and I finally got around to doing something about it. Ian was responsive and we quickly set up a price and an appointment time for him to come over to clean up the roof and install mesh to keep the pigeon out from getting back under the panels again. He showed up on time and did a fantastic job--very professional and conscientious. Beyond a nice job on the roof (see pic), he also found and documented a broken tile, then installed the mesh in such a way that it was easy to repair the tile (and left me extra clips). Very happy with the project. read more

Ian came out promptly for both the estimate and the work itself. Extremely knowledgeable on options to detour birds that have been trying to nest under eves, shelves, and little spaces all around the house. We contact folks from contractors, roofers, pest control companies, no one came close to Ruffled Feathers Bird Control on options and very reasonable pricing. The clean up after the work was done was amazing as well. I highly recommend these folks if you are have bird issues. Appreciate all the hard work Ian!!! read more

I used their service. My house was swarmed by pigeons all over. They came and installed meshes and did something else. I barely see pigeons now. Thanks read more

Had high hopes because they are highly rated. Requested a quote and a guy came out to my house on July 26th to take a look at the bird problem we were having. He gave me a quote and a contract to sign if I decided to have them take care of the issue. He told me to sign the contract and send him a picture of the contract and then he would contact me to set up a date to have them provide the service. On August 9th I sent the signed contract (a picture) back to him and told him we'd like to move forward (all via text). He never responded. So I few days later I called a left a message and they still didn't respond. They never returned my call or text. Very unprofessional. Picture below shows contract text that was sent. read more

I reached out to the company based on the amazing reviews, both online through the messaging service at yelp, and calling directly. TWICE. zero response, not even a quick note to say they are too busy to accept new clients. very disappointing in light of the great reviews on their service. read more

Ian was friendly and prompt, I called him on Friday he was able to come out the following day to give an estimate. We scheduled an appointment for the following Tuesday he came out on time sealed the two areas where birds were nesting and cleaned the areas the birds had defecated on. I highly recommend this company for these services. 7/23/2020 I have used Ruffled Feathers two more times since the initial visit and have to say I am still really satisfied with the work and knowledge Ian has. If you are having issues with birds please reach out to them. Ian even informed me of some loose tiles on my roof and secured them back into place no charge. Just to preface I didn't have work done but I did have the opportunity to see his professionalism and helpfulness at work, even when I told him I was going with someone else locally who was able to do it as a side job a bit cheaper. Not only was he pleasant with a good attitude about it, he actually told me what to use, even gave me a sample, and gave me tips on how to make sure it's installed correctly. We need more businesses like this in the world. Those who do the right thing regardless of whether or not they made a sale. read more

We had a positive experience with Ian. He placed screens and spikes and cleaned up all the pigeon waste which almost completely covered the first floor roof on the front of the house. He glued two cracked roof tiles for free. We also had him clean the solar panels and have seen a noticeable increase in power production. He even cleaned out the gutters. One downspout was too clogged for him to clean, but I figured any gutter cleaning was a bonus. His pricing was less than another estimate we received (about $750 vs $900) which I initially thought was high. He is very busy--we had to wait about 3 weeks. read more

My husband and I highly recommend Ruffled Feathers Bird Control. Like others have said, Ian is professional and honest. He serviced our home about 2-3 months ago and we haven't had issues with birds on our roof since. He screened off our solar panels and installed a cubby where necessary. He even cleaned underneath our solar panels, as well as our gutters. Big thanks to Ian! You did an amazing job! read more

This review should have been done months ago. I can't say enough about Ian and his fabulous assistant, Sarah (his wife). Professional, dependable and personable. He came out the same day and gave us a quote. When we were ready to schedule he fit us in right away and got to it. I haven't been woken up by pigeons scratching on the roof in months because they're no longer there. He also went above and beyond identifying and correcting a problem left behind from the construction crews of our new build. I highly recommend Ian to handle your bird control issues. read more

Discovered some birds nesting on the roof of my home. Of course they left a mess all over the floor. Did a yelp search and thought Ruffled Feathers would be the best company to handle the problem. Requested a quote through yelp. No response for 2 days. I then message him through his website. Finally responds through yelp that he can go and check it out and leave me an estimate. I thought great, let's get this going. Two days pass from the day he said he would go and check it out and still no quote. I message him again through yelp and no response. Very poor follow through. Not sure if he knows that communication is one of the most important aspects of running a business. read more

Had screen mesh added to solar panels to prevent pigeons nesting/roosting. House builder refused to provide screens or an option for screens during solar install and after 2 years of birds it was getting bad. Ruffled Feathers estimate was reasonable, considering in involved cleanup in addition to the screens. Ian did a very complete job cleaning beneath the panels, the gutters and misc stuff that escaped the roof to the ground. Communication before the job was good (emails and texts). During the job, he explained what he was doing and why. Even glued a previously broken tile together. Ian knows what he's doing. read more

Update: received a response -- editing my review to 5 stars; will update after completion of work. I'm writing a one-star review simply for the lack of response I've received. A neighbor worked with Ruffled Feathers and had a positive experience. I naturally reached out to them to remove a bird nest from my home. I've called (twice), texted, and e-mailed since 11-12 to no avail. I find this highly unprofessional and am surprised, to say the least. I don't like providing bad reviews, but I felt like I had no other choice. Ruffled Feathers: please improve my experience! read more

All I can say is awesome service from Ian, and if I can give 10 stars, I would! I had netting installed almost a month ago to prevent pigeon nesting and a separate issue came up just recently. I called Ian thinking that it would be a bigger "problem" and an additional bill, but Ian knew exactly what to do and came out within 30 minutes, solved the problem, and did not charge me for the additional work. Ian has a very positive, pleasant, and humble attitude and Ruffled Feathers comes highly recommended. Thank you again, Ian, awesome work! read more

We had a bid by ruffled feathers. They were there on time but didn't even want to talk. Just handed me a bid and could not leave fast enough. Our bird issue was growing and they weren't going away. We were really tired of hearing them and leaving a mess on our driveway, by our front door, etc. Finally got tired of them and decided to get help. We contacted Ian of Ruffled Feathers Bird Control and he was quick to respond. He can tell exactly where the pigeons like to hang out at. His rates are reasonable and he took care of blocking all the spaces they would most likely hide at. He also cleaned up two large full buckets of bird wastes from our gutters and guarantees his work. We are so happy not to hear the birds in the early morning or when they scare us as we open our front door or when we step in their yucky mess! Ian is very friendly, full of knowledge and experience and has been running his business for many, many years--I highly recommend him if you need his services! read more

I had a barn swallow problem. They decided to build a nest right above my AC unit and take seasons worth of dumps all over it. They also apparently loved my DirecTV satellite dish so much they built a second nest inside the dish mount and crap all over that too. I originally called Ian back in April of 2012, when I finally had enough, for a free inspection and estimate and he told me, on top of all the (literal) crap, they were a protected species and he couldn't move them until they left. So I waited/waded through yet another year of bird pooop everywhere until this past winter, when I called him again to finally remove the nests and (hopefully) keep them from coming back. Ian and his assistant did a fantastic job both removing the nests and cleaning up the walls, patio floors, and the AC unit of all the bird poop, they also did a very nice job putting up a netting that would keep the swallows from coming back and mostly match the color scheme of the house. They also put some sort of foam into the crevice in the dish mount to keep the swallows from nesting in there either. Communication was good, the job only took a few hours in a morning, and the price for the job was very fair. He also guarantees his work for a year. Great workmanship and professionalism. I hope I never need his services again, but if the birds ever decide to return, he'll be the first person I call. read more

Update #3: We were finally able to get our services completed. I have nothing bad to say about their work, as we have yet to have any pigeons return to our home. Yay! My only recommendation would be to try and improve communication with customers in regards to appointment dates and times and notifying them ASAP if an appointment needs to be postponed. Ian and Sarah were friendly and I appreciate them being so willing to work with us after the fact. Thank you! Update #2: They contacted me shortly after I made my initial review (below) and we scheduled another appointment for them to come by. It's almost an hour after their scheduled appointment and they are still a no show. I think we'll start looking for other quotes. Initial Review: They gave us a quote over 6 months ago and we agreed to their services, however, the gentleman said he was going on vacation and would call us to schedule an appointment when he returned. I've called numerous times over the last 6 months trying to get an appointment for pigeon removal and spike installation, but I can't seem to get a hold of anyone. Please help! read more

We needed pigeon control on our roof with solar panels. Ian was very accommodating to our schedule (he worked on Christmas Eve!). He screened off our solar panels - and just as he predicted- the pigeons are now hanging out on our neighbors' roofs! I've been recommending Ian to them. He is very knowledgeable, efficient and trustworthy. I selected this business based on their great reviews - so I wanted to return the favor and let the community know I found the 5-star reviews well justified. read more

I never knew how big of a nuisance pigeons could be until I moved into my new house! They were super noisy and left mountains of poop over the roof tiles and ledges. I knew they just had to go! After checking out yelp, I called Ruffled Feathers Bird Control (what a cute name!). Ian came out for the estimate and walked me around the house explaining where the birds liked to nest and where he would be installing spikes. On the day of the installation, Ian and his assistant were both very nice and friendly. They cleaned up the mess from the pigeons and installed spikes on the ledges where the birds liked to hang out and make trouble. I was afraid the house would look funny with spikes sticking out, but they did a great job and you can hardly notice the spikes. They needed access to the backyard during the installation/cleaning, and that's when I found out that the previous owner of the house had left a lock on the backyard gate latch which I didn't have the key to. This made it impossible for anyone to go in or out from the gate, so Ian removed the old gate latch and told me if I got another one he could install it for me. I hurried to Home Depot to buy new gate latch, which Ian then fixed onto the gate for me. What a nice guy! read more
