It's a sign of respect for the men and women who've risked--and in many cases, given--their lives for this country. Equating gratitude with discrimination shows a serious lack of awareness, and quite frankly, a lack of respect. What made it even more disappointing is that this store is located in a community where many military families live. These are the parents, spouses, and children who support service members from the home front--often enduring long deployments, uncertainty, and sacrifice themselves. To respond that way in a place so connected to the military is not just tone-deaf--it's disrespectful to the very backbone of this community. If I could give zero stars, I would. This business doesn't deserve even one for the way it treats the very people who make it possible for all of us to live and work freely. Of course, every business has the right to decide its own policies--but customers have the right to support businesses that reflect their values. The gentleman with glasses tells me that they don't recycle transmission fluid. He walks away to recycle the motor oil and I clearly read on the sign in sheet TRANSMISSION FLUID IS ACCEPTABLE. I tell him that your clipboard says you recycle it. He says no we don't anymore . I asked him why would your clipboard say that you do and your signs outside say as well . He told me with the most serious face that they changed a law in California that auto parts stores don't recycle transmission fluid anymore. I couldn't believe how lazy he was just to do that. I went over to autozone and to ask if they took Transmission fluid , they said yes. I also asked if any law had been changed regarding recycling said fluid as oreilys said they didn't take it anymore. They said no that all auto parts stores are mandated to take it. What a lazy employee from oreilys. Don't recommend shopping here.
