I'm writing this review to share with the community the extra mile Dr. Peters went to see to it…read morethat the orthotics he prescribed for me work well and are comfortable for me. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, I had a lot of trouble adjusting to the orthotics for my left foot. I received the initial pair in August 2014, and had to come back to Dr. Peters roughly five or six times over the subsequent nine months. I certainly wished the troubles I had were not so time-consuming, but what was appreciated was that despite this, Dr. Peters spent the extra time and worked on adjustments to ensure I was comfortable. Further, he agreed not to charge me any co-pays, and as the calendar year changed (and my insurance deductible kicked in), Dr. Peters agreed not to charge me at all for the final few appointments. He was committed to making sure the orthotics worked for me, even without earning additional fees for the added services. I am appreciative of the high level of care Dr. Peters continues to provide even though, at this point, the economics for him and his office are unfavorable. The extra care goes a long way, and I am happy to share this experience with the community since I know we often complain about patient care elsewhere.

On my second visit Dr. R's office manager was not present and another patient was there along with me. I felt my visit/re-examination was much too short and rushed. Dr. R told me that day that he was going to have his office manger contact my insurance company ASAP to try to get authorization for physical therapy and orthotics. He told me that his office manager would then call me to inform me what my insurance company approved. I never heard back from the office manager. I decided to see another podiatrist who correctly diagnosed my problem, stopped the pain, and fitted me for orthotics in 2 visits.

He was very helpful in explaining the root cause and how my foot works. I am feeling a lot better now that I am doing stretches and have orthotics. Also, it's worth noting that he helped advise me on what over-the-counter orthotics to try, since my insurance doesn't cover them. He even helped me to custom fit them to my feet with adhesive pads, during a follow up appointment. The first time I went the waiting room was very busy and the staff did seem a little stressed that day, but the next time I made sure to get an early morning appointment and everything was much better. When I arrived, I noticed patients were waiting in the reception to see Dr. Bar-David. While I was waiting, I overheard Dr. Bar-David talking on his cellphone, telling someone that he is flying out to Israel Saturday night, and to make sure to have dinner ready. He then continued the conversation inside the examining room. While I waited, 3 more patients came in for appointments with Dr. Bar-David. I was finally called into an exam room at 10:40 AM, when a minute later, I was asked to leave the exam room by the nurse and told to wait outside. No sooner had I left the examining room and sat down than a patient who came in after me was called in to see Dr. Bar-David. He was seeing his existing patients first and having me wait when I had an appointment at 9:45 AM. At that point, I told the front desk to cancel my appointment and walked out at 10:47 AM.
