As a tire shop it's great. But their mechanic Miguel is a liar and destroyed my car took my money and never fixed my car. I would not recommend this place at all. This tire shop kicks ass, they're amazing. They have great customer service and they don't do the typical bullshit small talk which I like a lot. I rolled into their parking lot and they said "yeah we'll take care of it", took my tire right then and there and returned it within 15 mins. In addition, the tire looks great. The young man who fixed my tire was actually enthusiastic to work, he was happy to work and he did a great job, and he did it quick. Went for simple tire repair, had a screw in my tire. They had about 3 cars in front of me already being worked on. I was initially told it would be a 20 min wait (understandable). Then 2 mins later a working in the back asked if I could come back after 12??? I laughed and said ok. I drove down Indio Blvd and found another shop (Sierra Tires), was in and out in 20 mins with great service. As I drove past Rubens on my way home (mind you just 20 mins after I left) a different set of vehicles were being worked on as they finished the 3 car that were there when I asked for tire repair. Seems like Rubens tires does not like the smaller 15-20 dollar jobs in my opinion, total fail in customer service. I will never give that place business again and I'll pass the word. So i bought 4 NEW tires from here. I immediately regretted it because they can't with a very limited warranty. My car's been driving weird and wasting a lot more gas so i got it an oil change. Didn't help. I decided to check and make sure the tires weren't low and they filled them up to 45 Psi!! WTF!!!? The limit on my tires is 32! Any tire professional knows how to locate the tire psi limit and knows what happens when you overfill them. They wear out prematurely and can cause a blowout. Seriously, WTF. Rubens did not let me down. When if my tires needed air, I went to numerous gas stations to fill them up and none of them worked. I did a quick pit stop here and the gentlemen that were working filled all my tires and did it as a courtesy, even though I offered to pay. If you're in need of a quick fix or just looking to save on tires then this place is the one for you! They have been here a long time and continue to be because of their low prices. Located off Indio Blvd with plenty of parking. They take Visa and MasterCard here and open early. I suggest to do the transaction in cash since it'll be quicker and easier. They have changed my tires a few times and even repaired minor damages to my tires to squeeze as much life out of them before buying new sets. They're also quicker than most tire places as well, since they do the work right then and there. Spanish speaking is not needed, but it does help to really convey your problem to them. I always speak Spanish just to see if I can get a lower price haha not sure if it helps me or not, but doesn't hurt. Once you pull in, you'll see multiple lanes for the garage. If there's an open lane just wait to be instructed to move up, or to park your car if all lanes are taken. They're very helpful in showing you what the issue with the tires are and offer suggestions on what to do. They sell used and new tires here as well. Unfortunately, there is no indoor waiting area or specific register or checkout area. You pay the mechanic directly. Overall 4 stars because of the lack of waiting area. My car have a bad tire and I stop at rubens tire shop for repair and they told me my tire was in very bad shape so i ask for a used tire and they install it. After a month my car start to make a funny movement and when I took it to my mechanic he told me it the tire was bad so I when back to rubens tire shop and mention what my problem was and the owner agree to replace it, but the guy working there name julio was mad and told the owner wife about it and they change the Told me it was going to be a charge because there is no warranty on a used tire, didn't want to argue so I said ok and after that they charge me the same $30.00 fOr another used tire. My Dad has a landscape construction business, so we have several trucks that every now and then will have a nail or a piece of metal stuck inside them causing the tire to slowly or quickly lose air. We have been coming here easily over ten years. The quality of work that goes in when they patch up the tire has not changed. The guys working there really know what they are doing. They remove the tire from the rim with their special equipment and patch it up from the inside out (I have been to other tire shops where they just use a stupid tire patch kit that was purchased at a local auto parts store that I could have done myself). They also mark exactly where the tire sits on the rim so when they install the tire back on the rim it's not unbalanced. They also inspect the entire tire to make sure there are no other holes. Very professional work done here. Only reason why I gave this place 4/5 stars is because the older gentleman that I interacted with was not very friendly, he didn't even say one word actually. They used to have very friendly staff before. I just told him what was wrong with the tire, he nodded his head and brought another employee to take care of it. Prices are very reasonable. After the assistant damaged my car's rim i was asked to return and speak to the manager and was the worst experience ever, she used foul lanaguage to weasel her way of paying for the damage that the shop caused to my vehicle. This guy is nuts. First experience - Buy used tires. I was quoted a price for the tires and mounting of $80. They got mounted and I got screwed. When it was time to pay he said it was $90, not $80. I'm far from deaf so I know what I heard. Besides, I was with my friend who also heard $80. Second time - called up for tire balancing because I was in the area and wanted a quote. Gal on the phone said it was $8 per tire. Ok, this is less than the other places around. So I went in, had them balanced and handed him a $20 (only had front 2 done). He takes the money. "Where's my change?" It's $10 each he tells me. That's not what the lady on the phone told me. Where is she I asked. 'She left for lunch'. This guy is a machimiso s.o.b. Difficult finances brought about the necessity of purchasing used tires for both of my vehicles. I was hesitant to use Ruben's Tire Shop after reading the other review. However, being forewarned is being forearmed! I was pleasantly surprised to find the pricing was exactly the same for the two different cars on two different days for the same services. I did have some difficulty but I would account for that with cultural and language problems. I was delighted with the final product as well as the substantial savings over purchasing even the cheapest of new tires from ANY of the local dealers. The used tires I selected are nearly new and literally less than a third the cost! For each tire I purchased I was able to select from 5-6 tires of the same size. The negotiated price paid for each tire included mounting. The additional charges were consistent at $5 for spin balance and a $3 old tire disposal fee. Overall, a very good experience! read more

I have a non profit business I run to help Supprt the Education of Local Music and Arts.
