I've been a client at Bayview RMT for years now. Their location is accessible (a 5 min walk from…read morethe Bayview TTC subway station), their hours are convenient (7 days a week, 8am-9pm), their booking system is user-friendly, and their treatment rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. But more than anything, their RMTs are top-notch: skilled, professional, pleasant. Special shoutout to Manuela, who has helped me deal with various aches and pains all these years. I think the best way to describe how Manuela treats you is she listens with her hands - she never just goes through the motions or just sticks to a checklist. While she asks you at the start where the problematic areas are, she is also always hyper-aware as she goes through the treatment on areas you never thought needed a bit more work. Would highly highly recommend Manuela and Bayview RMT.

She assessed my problem areas prior to getting to work, which I appreciated. This was no joke or relaxation session. If you have anything that's bothering you, she can help. I've already booked 2 more appointments in the coming weeks since I know she will gain popularity quick and her bookings will fill up fast. Prior to addressing issues, Vanessa discussed them with me and what kind of work would be beneficial to address my pain. Looking forward to my next appointment already!

My favourite therapist has to be booked well in advance for Saturdays, so I always book one a month for several months at a time. There are lots of different therapists there and a couple of aestheticians. I used to go for waxing, which was good, but stopped going only because I wanted the efficiency of lasering my legs which they do not do.

They have a special for $69 for a full body massage on your first visit. The receptionist was friendly and the place looked fairly clean. I was expecting heated blankets as I thought I read that somewhere on their website. They didn't have heated blankets. The massage was great. Nisha did my massage and she was very considerate and always asked if the pressure was ok. She would give warning when putting the hot towel on my back. It was a relaxing massage. As I was getting ready to leave, I noticed a bug crawl up the wall. Looked a bit closer and took a picture as it looked very much like a cockroach. After shaking off my clothes and jacket, etc. I went to pay and left. I felt very creeped out after that. I verified later that it was indeed a roach. Needless to say I will not be going back.

I've had one massage and three facials at this location. Massage and first two facials were good…read more In fact, first two facials were *great*. But I guess it was the woman doing it rather than the place. This most recent time I went, it was a different woman who was very nice but made a huge mistake. She used product to remove mascara from my eyes, but then didn't remove my mascara. Tons left at the end. Then she added so much product TO MY EYES that I couldn't drive home. My eyes were watering so badly that I couldnt see and I had to wait more than 10 minutes while constantly tearing up and wiping, tearing up and wiping, more tears, wiping, wiping, wiping... extremely uncomfortable. Note: The product didn't sting. This wasn't an allergic reaction. This was what would happen if you put a gob of hand lotion in your eyes and then tried to drive (or do anything, really). Even if it's gentle lotion, why is it IN YOUR EYES? Why would that ever be ok? My skin was nice the next day and my eyes recovered but this really made me mad and seemed like common sense. A drop-in facial at Hand & Stone costs $130 after tax and tip. For this price, I shouldn't have to come home and wash my eyes out.

As I work my way through Chinatown going from Spadina east on Dundas, Oriental Natural Beauty…read moreWellness Spa revealed itself as the next candidate for the best value in Chinese Shiatsu massage here in the downtown core. It's got great curb appeal with a bright blue sign and attractive script font scrolling across the front of this spot on Dundas making it difficult to miss. There's the requisite tent sign on the sidewalk highlighting foot massage (reflexology) as well as a couple being massaged (sounds fun!). More rich content visuals adorn the front of this place and the lobby is well lit with an oriental-looking backdrop of bamboo to give it a friendly organic look. There's also a giant "465" above the door so you know where you are, and I like this over-communication so there's no mistakes. Upon entering I was instantly greeted by a friendly person and when I asked about shiatsu massage she instantly said 60 minutes and I nodded, ok! After having previously tried 45 min and then 30 min, it seemed silly not to spend the extra $10 to level up the experience with the 60/60 deal. I was not disappointed with that decision! (Remember people chinatown is a cash-is-king place so don't get whiny about it) The rooms were tiny, omg. There was no way to fall over in here. I guess the tops of the rooms are open as I could easily hear other activity. The rooms are clean and nicely painted. My masseuse was a woman name Mia. As soon as I lay down on the table I could feel my feet against the wall and when I told her, there was no response, so I knew she didn't have much English. Good enough though, no problem with Hello and Turn Over, but rudimentary for sure. She was fantastic, and the most thorough and professional so far with some new moves added that I appreciated, like lifting my leg up and over bending me backwards which felt great. That didn't sound easy for her but she did it, and I appreciate it. This may be due to the 60 minutes, I'm not 100% sure. There was some cheesy instrumental music playing in the background, which could have been louder but overall a pleasant experience. Starting with my first experience with rmt with expert Angela (miss you!) I noticed that when a massage is done right, my head gets congested (light headed too) and I feel like I'm getting a cold temporarily. This likely takes a longer 90 minutes to achieve and get in the zone, but Mia got close to this in the 60 minutes that we had. Makes me wonder what she could do in 90 : )
