Well, being from Vail Arizona and going to northern Tucson via I-10 to find an honest mechanic emblazoned my mind in very limited possibilities. Then, to drive up to a property on old La Cholla blvd not having quite reached the much improved part of town was another suspicious pre-conclusion. Even worse, half the lot was a used car sales lot and the other was Honest Auto Repair... However, I WAS WRONG WRONG WRONG. Then, the truth started growing: Clean office with a very helpful person at the front desk. Clearly informed me what the costs will be. Quickly took my vehicle to the unseen garage. Came back and told be the approximate time to repair. Listened to the outside calls to the office. Listened more than talked. (For the most part!) Family run business. Same owner for both businesses. Researched very high public ratings. (check it out yourself) Included a very nice surprise for active and retired military. Well now it's a WIN WIN WIN. Best surprise of it all? Somehow the card got lost in the recesses of my suitcase and I just happily found it on a recent trip. A number of years ago I was driving cross country from California to my new home in Florida in my older '95 Ford Club Wagon van. My check engine light came on near Tucson and I was concerned to keep driving too far without having it checked. I Googeled AAMCO transmission shops in the area because they have always gone the extra mile for me and I was hoping they would check out the problem for free for me. Expecting a long wait for my freebie diagnostic check I couldn't believe it when the office manager (Skip Marble maybe?) pulled one of the techs off another job and had him check out my van right away. Turns out after checking the code that it was a minor problem and I could finish the trip and then have it dealt with at my convenience. No high pressure, no trying to sell me transmission service or repairs. Just honest and efficient help with no charge. Super nice folks. I have never forgotten their help even though it has been several years and have let their kindness inspire me as to how I deal with my own customers in my business. It's not always about the money. I was…read moreon a business trip so went to AAMCO thinking that when I was back in town in Phoenix that I could trust a reputable national chain like AAMCO. I went to four different shops here in town & nobody would honor the warranty on my $400 repair. The best offer I received was for $600 they would redo teh work correctly. I reached out to AAMCO corporate board of directors & finally received a response form a Jacquline who played word games & explained why they won't back their work. For a Company that says it's Mantra is "We put the care back in car care." Its a disgusting lie. Then when they say "Every customer deserves a Warranty" it is straight up false advertising. The Ina Road store was the original rip off & none of the stores in the Phoenix metro area or corporate could care less. My A/C is still broken & no one cares so do yourself a favor & steer clear of AAMCO.

Avoid this shop. I brought my car in for a no-start issue, diagnosed as bad fuel and a failed…read morestarter. The repair process was painful, requiring 15 to 20 calls and texts just to get updates. When I picked up the car, a strong fuel smell filled the cabin, and gas gushed out of the back end when I filled the tank--a botched reinstallation that created a severe safety hazard. They took it back to fix it, but returned it with a broken gas gauge, a damaged stereo faceplate, and an empty tank. When I asked Ryan about the lack of communication, the broken stereo, and the missing fuel, he showed little accountability and claimed to know nothing about the damaged head unit. He also insisted on giving me $50 for the missing fuel, but I only accepted $25 thinking as long as the issue is resolved I'll eat it but here I am with a damaged gauge and the fuel smell creeping back in. It has been weeks of complete silence from them regarding these ongoing issues. I am bitterly disappointed to leave this review as I have been patient, not aggressive and never did. I complain about the cost, as I truly hoped this could become my go-to shop for trusted vehicle maintenance, but I am now forced to pay another mechanic out-of-pocket just to fix their mistakes and buy a new stereo.
