I didn't get the drivers name yesterday on the 110 Eastern leaving Horizon Ridge & Eastern, I ride that bus 6 days a week from N Lasvegas to Henderson to work. Well there were like 4 of us waiting, the driver was inside, he opened door told us, this bus is out of service yall have to wait on nx, but your all welcome to come in n wait in the cool, 1st driver I've met that has done that. He also proceeded to come n talk with us all, because nx bus was suppose be in 20 mins, but it was also late, so was a good 30 mins we were inside bus, very friendly, listened to a couple complain bout other drivers, he made a good point, when we were telling him, some busses don't even come, have to wait a whole hour on nx because one before just never showed up, he made a good point, "the driver" said that one missed bus of someone being late to work , could be there final warning or they fired, n all because of rtc bus never showed, they could get evicted , no food for kids, who knows how just that 1 missed bus could devastate someone's life, luckily I have a understanding supervisor because I'm late at least 3 times a week out of 6 because of late or no show buses, He also told us, yea were on the clock sitting in air all day, we shouldnt disrupt others job flow, if we can help it. Best driver I have met yet, very kind n helpful, thanks to those drivers that do have a heart. read more

Here from Tukwila, Was for my birthday. My 1st time using public transit and I'm slightly disappointed so far. I asked the driver if he connected with route 214 and he has no idea what I was talking about. The language barrier didn't do us any favors either. When he stops to pick up a wheelchair rider, he asks me to move to the other side even though both sides are equally equipped. I have MS and I'm using a cane but I need to move even though the seats across from me were completely empty! Maybe he's having an off day who knows but to make a disabled person move for no reason is unacceptable. read more

I've lived in 9 cities across the US and this is by far the worse bus system ever. 50% of my time riding is always disregarding my time schedule. I have to use car service apps on the ready because RTC is unreliable. I try to keep my rides to one bus and no transfer cause connecting buses are a rarity. I'd gladly pay more taxes for a rail service instead of having to deal with a public transportation service that doesn't care about the public and their need to make daily schedules. read more

Game day bus $2.00 sounds good right? Go to stadium fine no problem, but try leaving. A mass of people 1,000's all trying to find their bus. Completely unorganized. I've been waiting for the 104 to show up for 20 minutes, and when the transit app showed the bus's location, that bus turns out to be not in service, forcing us to keep waiting in the hot heat. I am a resident that has a job to go to. The RTC is utterly unreliable. Buses are late or absent more often than not. A 65 minute trip will typically take 3 hours. The app shows false locations and arrival times of the coaches. Totally and completely failing the community. read more

This bus did not wait for my children. The bus left before my children even got out of school. Who goes to a school to pick people up and leave before school even gets out. My kids had to walk home for 20 minutes in the 90-degree blazing heat. WARNING; DO NOT USE THE TRANSIT APP TO PURCHASE TICKETS. It will take your money, and then say you do not have a ticket. Calling Transit customer service results in an hour on hold (and counting). Calling RTC results in an explanation of how it is all your fault. Your credit card provider will say they cannot process refunds for this vendor. If you want to pay for a ticket three or four times, go right ahead. Otherwise - service is very iffy. Once it becomes over 100 degrees in June, bus service is iffy. Bus will break down and drop you off miles from shade to walk to the next stop or wait at a stop with no shade and no water. You cannot have a cart larger than small carry on luggage - depending on the driver. Some allow it. Some don't. Depends on their mood I guess. If they don't let you on, maybe the next one will. Again, don't bother complaining to RTC, they'll tell you all about how it is your fault. No matter what your complaint is, it is your fault. Don't waste your time. read more

Maybe it's just me but it seems like RTC has really gone downhill in the past year or so. First let me vent about something for a second though - after a few years of experience riding them now, double-decker buses were a huge mistake. HUGE. Any plan that involves expecting people to voluntarily be courteous or have some basic sense is bound to fail anywhere, but it's especially dumb in Vegas. The problem with double-deckers is that more than 50% of the seats are upstairs, but like 60% of your ridership is too disabled to get up them and then another 20-30% or so are just too lazy to bother. So you get like 30 seats unfilled upstairs while 10 doofuses are standing around in the aisle downstairs jamming up the entrance walkway. It seems like the buses are crapping out more now too, especially the double-deckers. I have to ride the Flamingo route fairly often and that thing has become a complete joke for reliability, literally like 50% of the time I ride it there's a breakdown. And not just in the summer heat, either, this has been going on since like last fall at least. Word around town is they are also having extreme trouble attracting and retaining drivers, apparently because they only pay like $11 an hour when Amazon and CostCo and a bunch of others have jumped their minimum starting pay up to $15. So it seems like there are a whole lot more problem child drivers these days - either with that offhand uncalled-for ghetto rudeness all the time, or those institutionalized meatheads that try to act like Billy Badass whenever they stumble upon any little tiny scrap of petty Authoritah. Still OK but headed in the wrong direction. Update: To be fair I should give some props to the drivers who always manage to stop at the last nanosecond for the endless idiots who jerk a right turn right in front of them as they're pulling out of a stop. It happens all over town but mostly on the touristy streets and it's ALWAYS into either a fast food place or a dispensary. I lost count of how many absolute twats I've seen be just this side of bouncing merrily down the road end-over-end with glass spraying everywhere if the driver hadn't leapt on their brakes at the last possible second. I have no choice but to take the bus because I have no extra money to take Uber or Lyft. For the last 4 months I have been using RTC flamingo 202 steadily 5 to 7 days every week. I am fed up with jam packed buses! I'm not talking kinda crowded. I'm talking standing room only, packed like sardines! No matter weekdays, weekend holiday day or night. Ridiculous packed. You need more buses on this route! East, West. There is no possible way doesn't know this. So fix it already! Especially with as dangerous as your buses have become. The RTC sucks, and the entire top, fatcat losers collecting salary while allowing the entire system to collapse during the fucking marathon should be summarily fired and replaced by individuals who are better qualified. He went on to explain that they should be able to coordinate such logistics with it being a simple marathon and not "Hiroshima." This guy was right. They fucking suck. While it is nice that they have express routes (some inexplicably sidelined during the marathon) and WiFI, what good is any of that shit when the buses are not running their routes? I would say riding on RTC gives you the experience of what it might've been like living in 1930's Nazi Germany...but sadly that might be an insult to 1930's Nazi Germany. The absolute WORST customer service I've ever experienced in my life, let alone the most horrific transit service imaginable. Granted, they do have SOME friendly/courteous drivers..if you're lucky you'll get one. Most, however, seem jaded (at best). I do understand how dealing with difficult passengers can be a very hard thing. On that, I can only speak for myself: I'm generally an upbeat/friendly kinda guy - Certainly a polite one... I only ask for the same in return. Personally, I put up with the b.s. because I do need to get around town for work, etc... So, really not much of a viable option, given the fact they're a monopoly and all. but, I can just imagine tourists in from out of town , particularly on "The Deuce" and their 1st impression is a crabby driver ... I shudder to think. And Don't even get me started on if I were to have a daughter or mother needing to use the monstrosity of a service due to health appointments or cars being down or whatever... Trying to be economical and adventurous, we decided to take public transportation to our hotel on the strip from the Vegas airport. Tip: all public transportation is at the ground zero level of the airport. Exit the airport and walk towards the right. Though economical ($2 per person each way), it's not the most efficient way to get to the strip. It runs parallel to the strip and at some point you have to transfer to either the deuce or SDX bus to get to your hotel on the strip. It took us 45 minutes from the airport to our hotel. The 5 stars is for the excellent service we received from our bus driver on route 108. She was kind, helpful and patient with us tourists who had no idea where we were going! After telling her our hotel name, she guided us on where to exit and where to transfer. You would never get that type of courteous service in Los Angeles! I wish I got her name because RTC needs to promote her or give her a raise! read more

Its public transportation so I knew what to expect. This is a cheaper option ($8 for a 24 hr pass) to go up and down the strip rather than blowing money on ubers. One machine took my money and didnt dispense my ticket. Had to call the # on the box and they routed my info to a bus that was enroute to my stop. The driver was helpful and got me the tickets on the bus. On another ride after walking all day in the intense heat another driver refused to let me on stating "no drinks" on board (it was water)and you're not getting on unless you dispose of it. It's annoying and I get it but he was sorta a "dick" about it. Outside of that expect some riff raff to be on board also. The buses tend to run every 15 minutes and it can be a pain standing in the Vegas heat waiting for the bus. It's a trade off though rather then paying $10-$20 a ride to get around the strip. read more

If you are heading to work or an appointment i advise you to leave 2 to 3 hours early or you will be fired and or have to reschedule your appointment because you will be late. Buses are always late or when someone doesn't show up for their route the bus won't come of course, and you won't know this unless you show up on time at the bus stop sitting there at 4 am in the morning and bum no bus is coming without warning. Worked 12 hours and had to take the bus accidentally fell asleep woke up with my wallet and belongings stolen. No shape or way RTC's fault but the way they treated me like I was some vagabond. They threw me off the bus and when I asked wouldnt let me check my seat for my wallet. So that bus pulled away. So there I sat for 2 hours while a rtc woman on her high horse stood by me the entire time talking crap to me called the police for ,"trespassing" when I was stranded across town with no money crying. Tonight went downtown from PH. Took so long that we lost our buzz. Downtown wasn't worth the trip. Had to endure the same boredom on the way home. Have taken this from Trump to Ceasars with much success. But a long haul to downtown is a good way to ruin a great vacation. Seriously... Don't take this on a busy night on the Strip. You're better off walking or not going at all. Maybe Uber will be a better option when it gets approved. I swear, if I was alone I would run back to the hotel. This is the most miserable bus ride I have ever been in. San Francisco Muni isn't great, but at least it moves. We haven't moved pass the Wynn in 20 minutes. Please don't put yourself through this. The RTC does a good job with the amount of funding that they get. Between Covid and the flu finding enough drivers is a hassle for them which is understandable. Since I moved here (12/01/16) there have been NO fare increases despite their higher costs for fuel and inflation. While there are a few gaps in the system (Service is needed on Buffalo S of Westcliff and the 217 should be extended to Ft Apache to connect with last year's expansion of the 101,102,103. The majority of drivers are courteous, informative, and very safe behind the wheel despite being in one of the worst cities for safe driving. They have excellent free wi fi on the buses and good a/c and heat. Many routes run 24/7. The ventilation on the buses is first rate and the buses are clean. Their yellow RTC app is very useful in finding your wait time and expected bus arrival time. Buying tickets and passes on your smartphone eliminates the need for exact change though you can still pay exact change in cash if desired. Driving just makes the heat island effect worse and if u do not have a lot of things to carry taking the bus is better for the city and the planet. read more

It's so bad that it's funny. I literally just had a bus driver stop in the middle of the route to go grocery shopping and came back on the bus with a ham after waiting a half hour. Needless to say I missed my doctor appointment. The other day I had a bus driver refuse to lower the bus for me when I have a sprained hip. Just two days ago in a windstorm I stood for 20 minutes outside of the closed door of a bus driver who ignored me and pretended that I didn't exist when I just wanted to ask him what bus he was.
