Thus, I decided I'd make a heroic sacrifice for my fellow yelpers and go in and check it out. The owner Victoria was lovely and happy to chat with me and her store itself is well laid out with a pleasant atmosphere. There was a wide range of attractive clothing for sizes 14+ as well as jewelry and other accessories. I should note here that she's not currently stocking shoes but has pretty much everything else you need to kit yourself out. Also, while I was there I saw at least one happy customer make a number of fine purchases. Hopefully someone who has actually bought something here will come along and give their more experienced review however I was pretty impressed with Gussied Up - if you are a fuller figured lady I recommend coming in and checking it out!

So friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and a suggestion, without being pushy. I cannot say enough about the clothing. I have yet to leave the store empty handed. I have purchased dresses, tops, a super cute bathing suit, and accessories. And I am always complimented on my outfit when it comes from Gussied Up. I am so happy now that their second location in Vaughan is open, it's much more convenient for me (but that could be dangerous for my bank account) The only negative about the Bathurst location, is that its a little tricky finding parking, but if you persevere, its worth it.

You have to return things within 7 days, and pay for shipping both ways (in my case, this amounted to about 60.00)-I live in California, and the store is in Toronto. When I ordered a pair of shoes that were too large for my foot, I wanted to return them and was willing to pay the return shipping since the shoes cost 350.00 US. However, they had offered me a new customer discount when I purchased them, which apparently eliminated the ability for a return (which was NOT disclosed during the purchase or in the return policy language, which I carefully checked). They only are offering me a store credit. I'm pretty bummed, as these shoes were a total splurge for me. Just be careful-I would think twice about ordering anything from them if you don't live in Canada...

I'm a little asian female, of course I'll ask for a lower price, and I'm okay with not getting the discount. Setup is quite nice and the products are on display in a nice organised manner. Apart from the expected Japanese denim they also carry other items like jackets, shoes, bags and accessories. Service was decent and not overbearing which is just right. If you are on the Japanese Chic bandwagon I would say its worth the trek to the west end to check this place out. If you can't trek all the way here they have a very good online store as well.

That said, there are only about 3 major fabrics in the store, but made into different styles. For instance, with one style of cloth that they buy a ton of fabric of, they make two different types of dresses, jackets, skirts and so on, all from the same cloth. So you can literally buy the entire line and wear every piece that will match perfectly with the others. The demographic seems to be rich(er) women in their 40s - 60s... which isn't to say that a 20-something like me can't wear the dresses, but first I would have to shell out about $300 per dress, and second, I would have to find the styles I like.
