Our two kids began RSL in June and it has been amazing. Our son was very resistant to swim lessons at first and would cry every lesson. Mrs. Rene and Miss Sage worked with us along with his swim teachers to figure out what would work best for him. We started off with weekends with Miss Alex. Then next session went to Monday-Thursday sessions. Even in the second session he would fight going to lessons but Miss Sage (who is absolutely amazing) very patiently worked through it with him. She knew what he was capable of doing and would push him to be his best. By the second week into our second session he was swimming and no more tears!! He even moved up to intermediate! We just started our first intermediate session yesterday. I'm so happy and thankful to RSL for helping us push through and to see his amazing progress. If your child is having a rough time don't give up. It is hard at first but is so rewarding to see the progress. Every swim coach we have had here has been so kind and patient. I highly recommend RSL Aquatics to anyone looking for swim lessons for their littles. We just finished our 2nd round of Parent and Me classes. My son is 2.5 years old, we did lessons through the city when he was 6 months and then missed last year due to COVID-19. I found RSL through the recommendation of friends, though it was a bit far (we come from Azusa) they had a great schedule allowing us to participate on weekends (many of the other places I looked into only offered weekday sessions which interfered with my work). The facilities are clean, staff is super friendly, and class sizes are small. When we first started in June my son enjoyed the water but had no skills what so ever, he was the oldest in the group and it was truly amazing to see how much he learned and his confidence grew. Each class started off with 5 minutes of using the floaties then it was time to take them off. Through the June course he learned how to get out of the pool without needing the step, to count to 3 before jumping in, and become comfortable with going underwater (which he hated in the beginning oftentimes coming up and yelling "mad!"). He loved kicking around the pool after the toys, always saying "kick, kick, kick!". We signed up again in July and his confidence in the water became even more apparent, he actually enjoyed going under usually coming up and saying "again, again!", his kicks became faster, he is able to swim further on his own, and loves to show off his skills to his older cousins. I loved being able to share the time with him and participate in his lessons however the instructors have informed me that it would be best to move him up to the Beginner Level. We'll definitely be back as I can't wait to see him continue and further grow his swimming abilities. read more

Took my twins for swimming lesson this weekend and was very impressed with the quality of the facility, equipment, and staff. So often you enter new businesses and you are met with nonchalant energy from the establishment, but not this place they are very welcoming and sincere in their approach to aquatics. We recently enrolled my son in classes here. The teachers are FABULOUS. They are nice but firm enough to get everything done with my son who is 2.5 and a bit scared. His teacher is Nicole and she is great. He is already making progress and I highly recommend these classes to anyone! The older kids can already swim like little fish, it's amazing! We signed my son up for one session this summer and he learned more in a month than he did in a year taking classes elsewhere. The front desk staff and owner/boss were super friendly and attentive and the establishment is spotless, clean and really cute. My son's teachers (and yes more than just one) were so friendly, professional and were really able to focus on each child's needs. RSL has been the best thing to happen to my 3 year old son after a very traumatic, near death, water incident. He was absolutely terrified to go in the water. We couldn't even walk by it without him freaking out. On the first day it was clear that he was not ready for group and needed time to even be ok being in the water. Rene gladly jumped in and got my baby to relax and be more open to learning and trusting that the instructors. She took her time with him while still pushing him slightly past his comfort zone so that he could learn. Rene then suggested that we move the class time so that he could go to the indoor pool since there was less going on for him to get distracted with. He was brought into a class that had 3 other students and 2 instructors. Both instructors were informed on the situation and made sure that he gained their trust. You could see that each kid had their training modified to their level of understanding. No two kids are taught at the same level of skill and they are pushed ever so slightly past their comfort zone so that they could learn the task being taught. I like that the kids are taught how to swim to the side and safely get out instead of just floating in the water and waiting for help to find you. I also like that they teach the kids how to safely jump into the water. I have seen the instructors have patience with each of the different personalities that come into their groups. We're are nearing the end of our second week in the second session there and my son is now going underwater and kicking himself to the side. I am forever grateful for what Rene and her team has done for my son. He is even asking to go swimming now! read more

We enrolled our 3 year old son before a trip to Hawaii. I just wanted to be sure that he could hold his breath. I was so nervous that our time in Hawaii would be stressful. By the end of the first lesson he could swim to the side of the pool and get himself out! That alone was with every penny. By the end of the trip he was hanging out on a boogie board in the ocean, and playing in the pool. Thanks to Nicole it was amazing. I was so impressed with how fast he progressed. We decided to enroll him again when we got back. I will review again when he has finished. But I will say by his 10th half hour lesson day in he is swimming the pool with just a noodle, and can hold his breath and swim the width of the pool! Thank you Rene and Nicole! Great place to take your kids swimming! Both kids learned how to swim within a month and are totally water safe now! Amazing instructors, they work really well with the kids and make them feel really comfortable about swimming under water!!! Color this Grandma super impressed. My 2 grands (2.5 years and 4.5 years) with NO previous experience have, after 2 weeks, become water aware and while not exactly water safe at this point, if either of them fell into a pool, I feel confident they could get to the side within seconds and at this point, that's all I care about. Every one of the staff with whom I came in contact had a smile on his/her face (and by late afternoon on a busy day, that's pretty impressive) and seemed not only to enjoy their job, but make it their mission to make sure your child was going to learn how to be safe around the water. I cannot think of a better way to invest your time and money. The facility is clean, the bathrooms large and well-equipped, lots of seating for parents, equipment clean and well maintained, water always looked clean, umbrellas provide shaded viewing areas as well as an elevated area for viewing the larger pool, a big pool for the more experienced swimmers and a 4' pool for the little ones. read more

My kids have been taking lessons with Rene and her staff for almost 4 years. We come back every summer to brush up and learn new techniques and strokes. We absolutely love Rene and her coaches. She always makes us feel very welcomed and is always available to answer any questions I may have. Her home feels like an oasis and the other parents are also very kind and social. My daughter has made many friends at her swim classes. Rene and her coaches are patient with the children, especially with the children that have a fear of water. On several occasions, I personally have witnessed a child shake with fear, cry, kick & scream on the first day of class and at the end of the two-week session, that child is gleefully playing in the water with the other kids. It is so nice to witness their growth. This is also a family affair. Her daughter Sage is one of the coaches and she is patient and nice to the kids. This is the best thing that has happened to my special ed daughter. She is having the best time of her life. Ms Alex and Ms Sage are her favorite trainers and she waits for the whole week to jump in the pool on Weekends. The pool smells like pee (probably because they have a lot of toddlers in swim diapers in the pool), the rugs around the pool are filthy and there are slippery spots around the pool where kids slip and fall. The instructors are young and inexperienced. The owner has to stand outside the pool and tell the instructors what to do. They don't separate kids by levels so some kids are just sitting there doing nothing while the instructors are struggling with the other kids that are at a different level. There are better swim lessons in the area. Its better to go with a bigger company that is well managed and has better rules and regulations that are followed. read more

We found rancho swim by complete accident. It was so hard to find swim lessons on the weekends. We were able to enroll both of our kids (who had no swimming abilities at all) and it was life changing. We went from kids who didn't want their faces getting wet to little fishes! We initially planned on just having them take a month of lessons but the kids were doing so well that we didn't want to stop! We are at the end of month three with one more to go. Our 6 year old can pretty much swim on his own now and our 4 year old is almost there. All the teachers have been amazing. I love that they don't separate kids by age (not counting the younger babies) but they separate based on ability. With all the horror stories you hear about drowning accidents, this has been the best money we've spent. I'm actually so impressed with them that I want to take lessons next year to improve since my kids probably swim better than me now! read more

We started coming to Renee last summer and completed four sessions. We are currently on session 2 of this year. Renee and Nicole are awesome, they are sweet and nice but still firm.
