After just our first two swim lessons, I can honestly say that RSL Aquatics has exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment you walk through the front door, it's clear that this organization is exceptionally well run. The facility is spotless, organized, and welcoming, and the staff is attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. You immediately get the sense that your children are in capable hands. Our beginning instructors, Miss Gabby and Miss Abby, have been absolutely outstanding. We have two energetic little boys who can definitely keep adults on their toes, yet both instructors have shown incredible patience, kindness, and professionalism. They greet our boys with genuine smiles, keep them engaged throughout the lesson, and create an environment where the kids feel both safe and excited to learn. What has impressed me most is their ability to balance a confident command presence with exceptional customer service. They know how to maintain structure and keep the lesson moving while still making each child feel encouraged and successful. That combination is rare, and it's a testament to the quality of instructors RSL hires and develops. As parents, there's nothing more reassuring than watching people genuinely care about your children while helping them build an important life skill. After only two lessons, we've already seen confidence beginning to grow, and we couldn't be happier with our decision to enroll at RSL Aquatics. If I could give 10 out of 5 stars, I absolutely would. Things I liked: Your child will SWIM. I think my kids legs felt like rubber the first day because the philosophy here in both the intermediate and advanced is to just keep swimming! The pool is huge and the instructors send them back and forth over and over! Endurance seems to be the main philosophy. Some of the instructors are very engaging, overall everyone is pretty friendly! Things I noticed Safety is not a huge priority. There is no one on deck keeping an eye out for things the instructors may miss. The first day of class, and multiple after, my kids instructor walked into the building telling the other instructor of the other class to "keep an eye" to which he just kind of laughed and went back to the class he was teaching. Meanwhile she had 4 swimmers in the pool in other lanes behind and the instructor of the other class was faced away from them the entire time. That was my 7 year olds first or second day in the class. I had seen this sort of thing a lot, their instructor would chat with a students mom who was seated in the upper level, she'd face away from the students and just chat. By the 4th class I was ready to let the office know, but then the owner came outside, and held a conversation with the instructor the same way, her back away from the swimmers. My swimmer had been introduced to all of the strokes but I enrolled him to improve his form. He'd taken other classes where there was an emphasis on that. What I found is that there is very little instruction in the advanced class, the students are sent on back and forth several times but only upon request will they be critiqued or given better techniques. It is more like someone standing there somewhat keeping an eye on them and telling them to swim 400 or what not. At one point they had the owner, and at another, her husband and like I mentioned at another point, the other instructor in the other class, "take over" with instructions like "they're doing kickbaord" or "have them do bla" They are not very organized. First day of class the instructor was 5 minutes late. After that the advanced class had multiple people take over. The intermediate class had a lot more consistency, but one of the days Alexis (she did a great job) had to ask the owners husband where her secondary was. She came out a few minutes later , while the class was sorta on hold Things I'm not sure on: The young kids aren't taught to rest float. I've liked other places teach this, in the case that the child knows how to swim but doesn't have energy to get back to shore, or the edge of a pool for whatever reason. I once almost drowned as a kid in a pool right in the middle, I had slowly but surely run out of energy and not noticed til I couldn't keep my head above water. My brother pushed me to the edge. That being said, the rest float is a hard position to get into, so I kinda understand why they don't teach it‍ Overall, i think my kids are stronger swimmers and I'd possibly come back next summer since I trust my kids and I'm keeping an eye the entire time. Its $35 for 30 minutes (so 8 classes comes out to $280) Alexis was very encouraging in the intermediate class and each of the intermediate instructors really pushed the kids, and encouraged them, which I really appreciated:) oh and one more thing, I loved that at the intermediate level, there are two instructors to 4 students! Great facility for swimming laps. Water is clean and refreshing at a constant 80°. As a member, i have unlimited access to the # of 1 hour bookings i can make Sat. thru Thur. I LOVE this place! Brought in my 3 and 5 year olds who were both reluctant swimmers. At the end of the two weeks they're asking for pool days constantly and feeling so much more confident. The staff here got us through several days of fears and tears and patiently instilled a love for the water AND safety skills. 10/10 recommend and I wish I could teleport my OC and LA friend families struggling with kids learning to swim so they can also have this experience. Our son started Parent & Me classes at RSL when he was 9 months old. We initially enrolled because we had an upcoming vacation and wanted him to feel comfortable in the water. What started as a positive and enjoyable experience gradually became more challenging for him. He began to struggle--regressing at times, crying during lessons, and frequently reaching for us for comfort. At one point, we were asked to step inside to help him focus without distraction. It was heartbreaking to see how difficult it had become for him, and after some tough weekends, we were close to giving up. However, Rene, Dave and their team encouraged us to stay consistent and trust the process. We took their advice, and within a couple of weeks, everything changed, he began enjoying the water again. Now, at almost 2 years old, he's moved up to the beginner level. He gets so excited that we have to remind him to walk around the pool instead of running in! Watching him progress, splash, kick, and make friends has made weekends fun again. Rene, Dave, and their team are incredible coaches who truly care. They didn't give up on our son and made sure we didn't either. I highly recommend RSL--they are knowledgeable, experienced, and genuinely want the best for every child. I've seen similar experiences with other kids, and my advice is the same: trust the process. Do not pass go, do not sign your kids up for any other swim school...RSL is simply the best. We tried lessons at 3+ other places, before finally trying RSL to see what all the hype was about. They had both of our kids swimming within the first few lessons. (Whereas those other places seemed to just have them kicking short distances, etc) They make it fun for the kids with games and jumps. After various sessions throughout over a year, my kids were confident enough to swim in the ocean and pool during our Hawaiian vacation. Do yourself a favor and invest in their services. The environment from the second you walk in is very clean and organized. The employees genuinely seem to care about the people they are teaching, and our son has absolutely loved going to swim class here. We are in the process of getting him out of the swim floaty's and swimming safely on his own and he has really enjoyed his classes here. They keep the class sizes small enough to give the kids personal attention and really improve at a fast rate. We will continue to come here and just wanted to leave them a good review as it's a family owned business and we love being able to support that. We absolutely LOVE RSL Aquatics. We have been coming to RSL for the last 3 summers. Our daughter fell in love with swimming starting at age 3 when we started her in parent and me classes. She soon moved into beginners and then to intermediate! We saw SO much growth in her skills in just 2 weeks. We are starting our 3 year old son this coming summer in his beginners class since he graduated from parent and me last summer. We can't wait to see our babies in the water again. I cannot say enough good things about this place!!! I brought my 2.5 year old here to get comfortable with the water and learn to go underwater. Saw they had good reviews, had good pricing, and were just down the street from me so decided to give it a try. He was shy and nervous at first. He would tell Tammy at the front desk every day "I don't want to do it", but every time he was in the water he was doing what the instructors told him to and ended up loving it. By the 4th session he was saying "I'm going to be a big boy" and looked forward to swimming with Natalie and Kendra. They were great with him and I loved how much Natalie would push him to try new things. The staff was so great and they even went out of their way to get some videos for us moms in the Parent & Me class since our hands were full! Everyone here is so friendly and kind. The facility is beautiful and well kept. My daughter has really enjoyed her swim lessons. Couple areas of opportunity... When you have new clients, please make sure to go over the reenrollment month-to-month. I myself was not told that I had to continuously Signed her up for each month. I thought maybe it was just me, but I referred my friend who has two children now attending and she also had no idea. Luckily my schedule is more flexible than hers, but if I didn't tell her that she needed to re-enroll her children the following month the days of the week she selected might've been sold out and she has a very demanding schedule. So I think just a little better communication would be super helpful so that we can keep attending at the days/times that are convenient. I do appreciate that they have a waitlist and very thankful I got a phone call when a spot opened up at the time that better suited us. But other than that, no complaints. I look forward to my daughter attending at least until summer when we can practice on our own and then resuming once the weather cools down... My daughter says the pool is nice and warm and doesn't hesitate to get in even on cold rainy days. There's plenty of space for parents to sit and watch, and even the bathrooms are absolutely adorable! I also really appreciate that there is no contract so if you sign up and it's not for you or you need to take pause, you definitely can without being penalized or further charged. read more

I have to come back and update my review. We've been with RSL since January. Instructor Rene is the best, she had my little guy swimming within the week! It was mind blowing for us because we tried Aqua tots in Rancho Cucamonga (we were there for months) and he couldn't get past the "floating phase" which meant he couldn't move on. It felt like a waste of time and money there. Today, my son is in the advance class and has the skill and endurance to swim for the entire hour of class. We're are looking forward to a summer without float devices. RSL has brought our family confidence and joy. This is hands down the BEST swimming school around here. I love how they have a 1 to 3 ratio and the lessons are well planned out. The twice a week classes are way more effective than once a week classes for learning how to swim. Before starting here last Aug, my child was one who would cry because someone jumped in the pool and splashed water on her face. On the first class, all the kids had to learn to jump in the pool safely... and that quickly became her favorite thing to do. I was so surprised and loved the no B.S. approach. It only took one session for my child to be promoted to intermediate class! I have seen multiple times that kids got moved up mid-session because they were ready. It is important to me that swimming schools don't keep the kids longer in the same level just for the money. RSL promotes kids when they are ready and I love that I was able to see that! Ms. Rene was so patient when I had questions regarding progress and how to help my child make improvements. read more

WORST PLACE EVER! Ms. Emma physically hurt my son during a lesson. She pulled and pinched my sons arm so hard that it left a mark. She was verbally abusive to him as well. I requested to be seen by another instructor and the owner, Rene, refused to let another instructor teach him. I can't say enough amazing things about RSL. Rene and Dave, and the entire staff for that matter, have given my children the gift of loving to swim. My boys have been in some sort of swim lessons since 6 months old, usually at the YMCA. But they peaked there and when we found RSL last year, they took them to the next level and also gave them confidence, joy, skill mastery and a lifelong sport. My daughter took swimming classes here for two weeks, at first, she seem to love it, but that changed very quickly. She started to NOT want to go & would cry for me to not take her. It was the strangest thing because she loves the water. But I quickly came to realize the issue, it was the instructor & the staff, they are extremely cold, especially the owners daughter, she would yell at my daughter, (& other kids) in such a Condescending/ Cold way to get her feet out of the water because my daughter would be there exactly 2 minutes before her lesson. We are having a great experience with RSL Aquatics! The owners are very passionate about safety and wants your kids to succeed. Everyone has been extremely helpful from the scheduling staff to the swim instructors. My two kids (ages 2 and 9) have gained so much confidence not only in the water but within themselves from lessons. We are so glad we found RSL! It has truly been life changing for our 9YO who never wanted to go underwater. He is swimming more and more and said he feels so calm and happy in the water! The confidence and determination he is gaining is also spilling over to so many areas of his life! It was hard having a child who struggled for so long with the fear of going underwater however it was vital for his growth that I sit back and let the RSL team do their jobs. Knowing he was being challenged in a safe environment with instructors that cared but were sure about what he needed to do to learn these life skills was truly what made this program a success for my son. SO happy with our experience with RSL Aquatics. Our main goal in signing our son up for lessons (outside of actually learning to swim) was for him to build confidence with being in the water. We started with our son being scared to put his head under water to no fear, jumping in the pool. The progress we've seen in two short months has been great! Was just sitting in class talking with other parents about how much we love this place. They have such good teaching methods. My four-year-old has become a surprisingly strong swimmer--so great not to feel afraid of him falling in--and he's always asking to sign up for an other round of lessons. He just has a great time. The facility is gorgeous and we love the teachers. I recommend especially coming for lessons in the fall and winter--lessons are greats all they round, much in low season, the classes are smaller, so the kids get even more attention. read more

I wanted to share our experience with RSL Aquatics because I appreciate the knowledge and skills that my daughter has gained from attending here so far. We actually booked our first beginner session in the Fall of 2022 the night when my daughter had a near drowning incident in the care of a family member. I literally just googled the nearest swim lessons and found RSL. She was in love with splashing around in the water before but this incident made her fearful of any pool. Her first day in the pool she was not having it and was clearly upset because she didn't want to go in. Rene, the owner, thought it was best that our daughter instead join the parent and me class with my husband and it made a world of difference and she got comfortable and started enjoying the water again. Our daughter eventually made it into the beginner class less fearful of water and I have nothing but great things to say about the instructors. My daughter is more cautious than normal so it takes her a bit to warm up to new instruction/skills being taught and I love that the instructors are patient and kind with her. While the instructors are awesome, make class fun, and are patient as mentioned, they are not there to coddle our kids and I appreciate their style in teaching because swim safety is extremely important especially in our case where things could have turned out way differently. This is coming from a mom who gentle parents (not that it works all the time lol). We continue to work with our daughter outside of class to keep swim skills up especially in months where we aren't able to take her. The instructors have worked extremely well with my daughter and she has shown progression and confidence in jumping in the water by herself, getting rings that are thrown in the pool, and swimming. The entire staff is great and we really see the love the owner and the instructors have for swim safety. The facility is set up nicely and inviting. They have ample space to sit and watch your kids swim under umbrellas. They also have an area where green turf is where I like to dry off my little one after swim and relax for a bit. A vending machine is located outside where snacks and drinks are available for purchase. read more
