I wanted to share our experience with RSL Aquatics because I appreciate the knowledge and skills that my daughter has gained from attending here so far. We actually booked our first beginner session in the Fall of 2022 the night when my daughter had a near drowning incident in the care of a family member. I literally just googled the nearest swim lessons and found RSL. She was in love with splashing around in the water before but this incident made her fearful of any pool. Her first day in the pool she was not having it and was clearly upset because she didn't want to go in. Rene, the owner, thought it was best that our daughter instead join the parent and me class with my husband and it made a world of difference and she got comfortable and started enjoying the water again. Our daughter eventually made it into the beginner class less fearful of water and I have nothing but great things to say about the instructors. My daughter is more cautious than normal so it takes her a bit to warm up to new instruction/skills being taught and I love that the instructors are patient and kind with her. While the instructors are awesome, make class fun, and are patient as mentioned, they are not there to coddle our kids and I appreciate their style in teaching because swim safety is extremely important especially in our case where things could have turned out way differently. This is coming from a mom who gentle parents (not that it works all the time lol). We continue to work with our daughter outside of class to keep swim skills up especially in months where we aren't able to take her. The instructors have worked extremely well with my daughter and she has shown progression and confidence in jumping in the water by herself, getting rings that are thrown in the pool, and swimming. The entire staff is great and we really see the love the owner and the instructors have for swim safety. The facility is set up nicely and inviting. They have ample space to sit and watch your kids swim under umbrellas. They also have an area where green turf is where I like to dry off my little one after swim and relax for a bit. A vending machine is located outside where snacks and drinks are available for purchase. read more

We love RSL Aquatics! The entire staff is the absolute sweetest and truly gives the feel of a team effort. The scheduling staff has been the kindest and most helpful individuals and have worked hard to find the best time to help schedule my four kids, to the staff who has shown us around to make us feel at home and greet us joyfully each lesson, to the amazing instructors who truly desire to make learning to swim educational and fun. My 4 kids can not stop talking about their lessons and are dying for their next lesson. As my oldest said at her lesson the other day, "They make learning to swim so fun!" Their teachers help them to understand the importance of good form but also endurance. I couldn't be more gratefully for how in a few lessons how much children have improved! Thank you RSL! Update: I should remove another star for the Owner's Response. Um, if I was not present, my daughter's experience would have absolutely been life threatening. She was NOT completely safe the entire time or else I would not have written this review. And for the record, she was never "swimming several feet on her own and just needed assistance coming up to get her breath." My daughter never learned to swim in this class/course just to be clear. It is honestly disturbing to see the owners response. She is either a flat out liar because what she is stating in her response is simply not true.....Or she has no true recollection of the event and encounter. Either way, scary. We've been going to RSL since it was in Renee's backyard. My daughter since she was 2 years old and my son started at the age of 1. They are simply the best swim school around. We've tried others closer to home and switched back to RSL. It's much more personal, the teachers are amazing, and Renee and her family are involved in the day to day operations, always walking around and helping direct students when they need it. We have a child who's been struggling with outside things and they've been working with her to make the class a little bit more manageable. I enrolled my twin 5 year olds in the beginner's class. 1 is afraid of jumping in, I didn't know so much of the beginner's class would be about jumping in. The children need to jump in twice the first two days, then 4 times the 3rd..and I don't know about the 4th and 5th days because we stopped going. My son was upset and not wanting to jump in, so the instructor jumped up from the pool and grabbed his arm while she was still in the pool, and my son was outside of the pool, and started pulling him towards the pool. Naturally he sat down and was pulling back. She told him "stop fighting me, or you'll fall back and hit your head." Well why are you trying to physically force my son to jump into the pool when he is afraid..? Then another instructor outside of the pool came along and picked up my son and put him in the pool, against his will. What part of this is going to help him "eliminate fear" as the website objectives state? It made his fear worse. My other son was having a tough time understanding to keep water out of his mouth when he'd go under the water. Instead of addressing the issue, the swim instructors weren't even paying attention to him..The 1st instructor told him "bubbles and eyes" before pulling him under, but not without giving him adequate time, or checking to make sure that he took a breath before going under! He had no air in his lungs, causing him to go into panic mode under water..and come up choking A LOT. The 2nd instructor on the 3rd day had brought him up from under water to get a breath, which my son spent his breathing time spitting water out, as soon as he was about done spitting water out, the instructor said "bubbles and eyes" and pulled him under..as he was going under the water I saw him struggling to keep his head above the water to get a breath of air before going under, but didn't get to take breath..he was under water without air in his lungs again, and in panic mode. Then, you guessed it, came up choking pretty bad again. I tried giving grace the 1st time it happened, and continued bringing my sons here to give this place a chance, but this was it for me. No kid should be under water without air in their lungs during swim lessons, let alone two days in a row and two different instructors. It's a matter of paying attention, and instructing them properly. Both times it seems as though the instructors' attention was elsewhere. It shouldn't have been, there was no reason my son should've been under water without being able to take an adequate breath before going under. He obviously needed more instruction in this department, which he didn't get from these instructors. For 2 days, my mom worked with my son. She told him to keep his mouth closed under water and slowly blow air out of his nose to make bubbles, and now, he is no longer choking on water! It was as simple as that, but the instructors didn't instruct him on this. He's now swimming on his own pretty well too! He goes under and swims, comes up and gets a breath, and goes under and swims again. No thanks to this school that he attended for 3 days straight. My mom taught him on a Thursday, then a Friday the following week, and he's swimming in 2 lessons. My other son, we're still working on his fear around the pool, which wasn't as bad before coming to this place... Don't waste your money here. It's very cookie cutter in how they teach the kids. There are 5-6 kids per class, the classes we attended started 5 mins late, and sometimes would end a few minutes early. Probably for class transitions, but I didn't pay for just 22-25 mins a class, I paid for 30 mins a class. Then divide that time between the children, they don't get much instruction time. Also, I don't like the fact they were teaching the kids, and giving them the confidence to jump into a pool, without the kids knowing how to swim properly first. That can be dangerous. I don't know if that's how other swim schools are too..and I agree kids need to be taught how to jump in properly and safely, but why before they can even swim. Shouldn't swimming come before jumping in? Thankfully I got a refund for the last two classes we didn't attend, due to the negligence of the instructors and putting my son under water when he wasn't ready..and causing more fear around the pool with my other son. I didn't like that I didn't get a phone call from the owner though. The receptionist here is kind and understanding, and it was easy handling business with her. But horrible customer service on the owner's part. A phone call would've been appreciated. I also wanted to add that as another review stated, I as well, was not comfortable with the children on the noodles in the pool..because there were times both instructors were on the opposite end of the pool from my boys and other students..and the instructors did also have their backs turned to the students at times as well. I felt like I really needed to keep an eye on the kids at the further side of the pool. UNSAFE. read more

As parents our priority will always be safety for our children, and they have shown that commitment to us always. They have played a huge role to build their confidence and capabilities. Over the years we have gone from blowing bubbles to practicing the different types of strokes, recently instructor Rick has been great, Rick keeps an eye on their technique and encourages them to do better in that 1 hour time he has with them. This is review is way over due, but I have been having so much fun watching my kid grow and become more independent in water that every time we leave, we have to go for ice cream or some sort of celebration treat. It's a bit long, but let me start by saying RENE IS FREAKING AMAZING! We have been coming to RSL since my son was 2, and we took the parents' and me classes, which he learned so much. Now, a year later, we are back stronger than ever. Rene has built such strong relationships with my son that he asks about her on the days we don't come. First of all, I want to add how quickly Rene noticed from day one the additional needs and support my son needed. She even stayed after his first class to teach him one on one, assess his needs, and adjust her schedule quickly to accommodate his needs. I will forever be grateful for her. Now he is anxiety has gone from screaming bloody murder to jumping on the water on his own. Second, I want to make sure everyone knows that her main goal is safety safety safety above all. Third, let's talk about feeling right at home. Staff is very welcoming, and the facility is top of the line spotless. You can tell Rene and Dave work hard to endure their facility is up to part for the kids and adult clients. The restrooms are always clean, and I have yet to see a piece of trash anywhere. Just WOW WOW. The facility has tables with an umbrella, so those of us who bring extra support for our kiddos can be comfortable under the shade during sunny Cali days because all the kids support the village is welcome. But, the MAIN reason why I came back and will stay here is because when we walk through the doors, we see my son's happy face when he his his teacher, Rene. Nothing is more important to me than seeing my son be happy, and at the same time, he is learning how to be safe in water with such an amazing staff. read more

My oldest son was always afraid of the water. At 3 years old, we started enrolling him in swim lessons. Over the years we had tried group lessons, private lessons, lessons where the parents are present and lessons where parents were not present. At 7 years old, he still was struggling to swim and frightened of the water. Finally, we heard about RSL. Within 3 weeks, he had mastered the beginner curriculum and he was ready to move to intermediate classes. He can open his eyes underwater, jump in and swim to the wall, and swim unassisted across the pool with his face in the water. We are so thrilled with RSL. Their teachers are sometimes tough, but they push the kids to reach their potential. My youngest started at RSL with no swimming experience, and has become a confident swimmer in less than 8 weeks. Checked out this place today, after my aunt had mentioned it. Was pretty excited to see what this place was. Unfortunately, there's no way i can go here. It's located adjacent to the Route 66 Car Wash, and the noise is incrediblely unacceptable. From the parking lot on the East side, i looked over the wall, and could Instantly notice the noise. The outdoor pool also looked uninviting, not refreshing. The Pools at the Upland YMCA, are without question, superior to the pools at RSL. The water at the Y looks refreshing, inviting, much better, if you want my opinion. But i don't doubt that the teachers at RSL are great, it did look that way from what i briefly saw. RSL i'm sure is good for kids. For adults, it's Nothing to get excited about. It's not a place i would want to spend my morning. read more

I'm very impressed with RSL! Kids have zero swimming experience and after two 8 week sessions, they've made a LOT of progress! The beginner class focuses on safety which is exactly what we need. I really appreciate that all the instructors are sweet, but firm. They take the kids' safety very seriously. We will continue lessons to build up the kiddos' safety and strength. Our two girls were very afraid of the water, and spent their entire first lesson screaming their heads off. Everyone at RSL was amazingly patient and tried many different approaches, but they just weren't having it. Rene moved us to lessons where we could be in the pool with them, gave them multiple extra private lessons at special times herself, and over about a month got them both from terrified of the water to loving the pool. Now they always want to go to swim school and love all their instructors. Rene never charged us an extra dollar for any of the special attention, always took great care of the girls, and never wavered for a moment in assuring us that she'd be able to get them over the hump. Wow! We are so excited about the new aquatic center! We loved Rene and all the staff before but now it's just so magical at the new facility. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. -updated review- Spoke to the owner, he was very nice and apologetic about the opening day experience. We will try to find another day to give it another shot. Worst experience ever! - completely disorganized - no social distancing. The coaches waterproof masks were moving around as they talked and held my daughter with another girl together. - water freezing cold (my 2.5 yr old was shivering trying to get out of the water). The coaches were too distracted to realize why she wanted to get out. Forced her to stay in. - they told me the water would be at 85 degrees super warm and that mom would get in with daughter. They couldn't warm the pool in time but didn't inform us, and didn't let me get in. It was so chaotic and disorganized. Finally even one of the coaches agreed with me and "said you take her out now if you want, it's a bit chaotic and very cold" - I'm so sad this ruined my daughters first swim lesson experience. RSL is a wonderful swimming facility! The property is like an oasis! It's very clean, bright and open! It has a "beach club" feel to it. Very very nice. My son was originally at Premier and was not making any progress after taking private lessons for over a year, so we were in search of a new swim school. This was during the height of Covid, so cleanliness was (is) a huge priority. I was so happy with what I saw. It was nice for my 3 YO to have indoor lessons in 90 degree heated pool during the winter months. There is a huge astroturf area for play time! The staff are all great. Renee talked to me at length to answer all my questions when I came to visit the facility. The teachers are all very gentle (but firm) with the tiny students. I was very impressed with how well they were able to hold toddlers' attention and get them to follow instructions! In just his first month at RSL, my son made such great progress! In about 3 months he was able to float and swim short distances on his own. After 5 months, he can swim the entire length of the pool! Our instructors are Kayla, Alexa and Natalie. All wonderful. As for me, I have used the pool for lap swim. This pool is so clean and crisp. It's a nice reprieve from the gym pools. I enjoyed my swim here! Thank you RSL! read more

I am so glad we found Rene for swim lessons! We started Summer 2016 with our daughter (she was 4 years old), who wouldn't even put her face in the water. By the end of our first session, she was swimming on her own! We continued with another session right after to keep building her confidence with swimming. We continued for another session this past summer and she got to learn how to dive! We also took our son (now 2 years old) for a few sessions, and he LOVES being in the water now! It amazes me how young kids can be taught to swim. It is so very important for us to teach them young, especially now that we have a home with a pool! We are so thankful for Miss Rene. THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT OFFER MAKE-UP CLASSES! THEY KEEP YOUR MONEY EVEN WHEN YOUR CHILD CAN'T MAKE IT! A RIP-OFF! My child attended this school for about 6 months. At first, I thought the school and instructors were good, and we were happy. But I started to notice that the instructors were teaching our kids the 5-6 different techniques at one time. They do not give the kids a chance to "master" one skill before they incorporate something else. It's not a problem to learn dolphin kicks and breaststroke (for example) at one time, but not piling on four other techniques also! Also, they level up your child when they are not ready. It appears they are making room to add more/new kids and are not concerned with whether or not your child is ready. RSL DOES NOT OFFER MAKE-UP CLASSES! Kids get sick, take vacations, or things just happen. So you pay for lessons even when your kids do not attend the class! Yes, just send your child to swim and get the rest of the kids sick! Also, RSL does not support its students outside of the school! I asked RSL to support "their" student by supporting my child's school's fundraiser with a TEN DOLLAR (yes...I said $10) donation and they would not! I mean...$10 to support "your" student? We paid tons of money every month for her lessons, and they could not even toss us a $10 bone for a good cause? Wow. Just wow. LOL. After that, I told my child we were going to finish out the month, since I paid, and we were out of there! We have been going to a new swim school, Premier Swim Academy in Rancho Cucamonga. And let me tell you...NIGHT AND DAY difference! We could not be happier! That school is the BEST and I love their curriculum. They have gotten so popular, that they have a waitlist for almost every class. The facility is beautiful, with lots of bathrooms, beautifully decorated, colorful, many items for sale, including ice cream! The most important takeaway about Premier is that they offer MAKE-UP CLASSES!! read more

Look no further folks, Renee is a toddler whisperer! I have a beautiful, loving, and stubborn two year old who prior to lessons did NOT like having water in her face. Bath time and showers were very fun. We were able to do 3 sessions (6 weeks total) and now I have a beautiful, loving, and stubborn mermaid. :) It was a slow progress but Renee kept plugging away at her and one day it just clicked. By the end of the lessons I had to drag my daughter away from the pool, a far cry from the first week when I had to get in with her. She will jump in with a vest, noodle, and on her own, she opens her eyes underwater, dives for rings, kicks from one of the pool to the other, she doesn't even wait for her turn before she takes off swimming again. I am one proud Mama for sure. Now we just have to work on blowing bubbles and coming up for air, but I'm confident if (god forbid) she were to fall into a pool unattended she could get herself to the edge and get out. We cannot thank Renee enough for the breakthroughs we weren't sure would happen! read more

The first time I put my son in swim lessons with Rene, he was 1.5 years old. I loved that I did not have to go in the water bc I was not looking for a mommy & me type of class. I wanted someone who would challenge my son & teach him water safety. After 2, 2 week sessions, they had my baby jumping in, grabbing rings from the bottom of the pool & kicking his way to the steps so he could get out on his own. I was amazed! Fast forward a year, & the next summer my 2.5 year old was a little fish! People could not believe how well he could swim without floaties. But of course I was still very careful & kept going over all the tips & tricks I had learned from watching Rene for a month the previous year. Now my son is 3.5 & a great swimmer! I put him back in Rene's class this year bc I wanted him to get stronger at swimming & also learn proper strokes. The other parents from his class were amazed at how well he swims at 3.5! But it is all bc he started learning at 1.5 & therefore was never scared of the water. He looks forward to swimming at Rene's & I'm about to sign him up for another session bc he loves it that much! My 3 yr old was traumatized after being physically forced under water over and over and over again I was separated from my child she came home all bruised up .first thing g she tells me when she wakes up is mommy I don't wanna go swimming throughout the day she tells me over and over I don't wanna go swimming yes it's an effective method to technique the have to learn quick but some kids are more sensitive and feel this experience can do more harm if u feel ur kid is sensitive more emotional take them somewhere they won't be forced to learn so quickly my child is scared of the trainers not the water my child isn't eating rt she's isolating herself always hiding under the blanket don't get me wrong if u got a normal outgoing kid this place is great they will tech your kid to swim and be safe rsl and whole family there thanks but no thanks we just weren't ready read more

Wow!! What a difference two weeks made for my son! I'm a first time mom with a very strong willed 18 month old. When I first thought about swim lessons for him I thought Infant Swim Rescue (ISR) was the best way to go because we have a pool without a security gate around it and I wanted to make sure my son definitively knew how to float/swim to the edge if he ever fell in. Boy was that a mistake! ISR lessons were a complete nightmare. My son screamed during every 10 minute lesson. Essentially learning a fear association with the pool instead of skill. After a couple of weeks, the ISR instructor and myself concluded that this may not be the best approach for my son. So, after that intense experience I heard wonderful things about RSL Aquatics in Upland after a few family members and friends took their young children there for lessons. I called and spoke to someone on the phone about my experience with ISR and they stayed on the phone with me for over 15 minutes to go over their process and how they teach their children to swim. We decided to start with the parent and me class to reintroduce my son to the pool. And wow what a difference and what a wonderful experience we both had! My son learned his kicking techniques. He learned how to blow bubbles and go under the water and hold his breath. Because of my sons personality, I will definitely continue with the parent and me classes until he becomes more comfortable with the instructor taking him, as I believe he still has a fear of instructors from ISR unfortunately and he's still quite young. But, I absolutely love RSL's approach and techniques. My son is so happy to be in the water again and he consistently had a smile on his face during the 30 minute sessions. Thank you RSL for saving us from the crazy that ISR put us through. You're the best and I'm excited to sign up for more lessons! read more

I signed my 5 year old up for swim lessons at RSL and things seemed ok at first. When my daughter had trouble putting her face in the water they just continually told her sternly to put her eyes in the water. Clearly she was having an issue and they were not discussing with her why she was having an issue or offering any suggestions as to how to put her face in the water. She started to feel more comfortable on day 2 and 3 and had her eyes in the water for much of the class. After her 2nd class her eyes were red for the remainder of the evening. After the 3rd class her eyes were burning for hours (even after flushing them with water) and she was in pain for the rest of the evening. Day 4 she was nervous about putting her eyes in the water because she didn't want her eyes to burn again but she did it anyway and by the end of class her eyes were burning again. The instructor began to get upset because she wasn't putting her eyes in the water and removed her from the pool for the rest of the class. I contacted the school prior to her next class to ask if they would make an exception about wearing goggles (they normally do not allow them). They gave me a bit of a hard time about it saying that she was using the goggles as some sort of way to avoid putting her face in the water. I assured them that her eyes were on fire after the previous classes and I didn't want to put her through that again. They agreed to allow the goggles. Once class started, with goggles on, she was still having trouble getting her face in the water. After 10 minutes of class the owner came out of her office and removed the goggles from my daughter's face and said she needs to put her eyes in the water to get them back. My daughter refused and she was again removed from the pool. She would not be allowed back in the pool unless she put her eyes in the water. The owner then informed my 5 year old that she wasn't listening and was unteachable. She sat out for the remaining 20 minutes of class. I went home and thought about what had happened during the previous classes and decided that I would not put my daughter through that again. I called and spoke to the owner the following morning to let her know we would not be returning and to offer feedback as to why. She continued to tell me she had never heard of anyone having these kinds of issues with the chlorine in the pool and stated again that my daughter was not listening and could not be taught. I informed her that kicking her out of the pool because she would not put her face in the water was not teaching her how to swim. I asked if we could have a refund for the 3 classes we would be missing and she offered me a credit to come back later. I would not recommend them for swimming lessons if your child does not respond well to authoritarian style teaching or if they have any eye sensitivities. They would not work with us to find a way to get my daughter swimming nor would they give us our money back after failing to teach my daughter to swim. Edited to add: I have to say that I am not at all surprised by your response. It's easier to point at a child and say it's their fault that they were "unteachable" instead of taking any accountability and learning how to teach children in the way they need to be taught. Not all children learn by hearing an order and then just doing what the person says. Especially when fear is involved. I actually took the time to find out why she was afraid to put her face in the water and discovered that she was worried about being able to breathe. If any of your instructors had taken a moment to talk to her and figure out the problem instead of just repeatedly telling her to put her eyes in the water, my daughter would not have become frustrated and began acting out. She began every class excited, happy and ready to learn. It was only after being forced to do something without much explanation that she began to get frustrated. Telling my 5 year old that she's unteachable and then doubling down and saying she has behavioural problems definitely confirms my decision to pull her out of your school. I really hope that you and everyone at your school takes the time to learn about educating children with different needs and learning styles so that you are more able to provide a positive learning environment for all of your students. read more

My oldest 2 kids took swimming lessons with Ms. Rene several years ago when the lessons were held at another location in Rancho Cucamonga. They both learned so much and had so much fun there, but once Covid hit, and they were not able to swim for over a year, they seemingly forgot almost everything they knew. This summer, I enrolled all 3 of my kids (ranging in age from 2-7) in swimming lessons at the new RSL facility, and I cannot say enough good things about them! First, the facility itself is amazing and much better than any of the others we have tried or seen (including YMCA and city pools). You can tell that so much care and thought went into the planning and design. The decor, from the murals inside/outside, to the bathroom decorations, is beautiful, colorful, and bright. There are outdoor showers, and there is plenty of shaded seating for parents and spectators. Very importantly, the facility including the restrooms and pools, is always super clean. The landscaping and grounds are beautiful. There is even a large grassy area where kiddos can play while siblings are taking classes. I appreciate that the owners are always there and present, walking around, greeting customers, and making sure things are running smoothly. There are 2 pools. Both are heated. I appreciated having the indoor pool option for my 2 year old because it was nice not having to struggle with sunblock for a couple weeks. I had children enrolled in the beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes this summer, and all of the 5 instructors we had were excellent. An unfortunate incident occurred during my son's first week of classes, and the owner handled it discretely, quickly, and professionally and was also kind enough to give us a credit towards our next class. My older 2 kids have always loved the water and took to swimming easily. My youngest however, has always been afraid of the water and spent much of his first session crying and refusing to put his face in the water. The instructors were always so kind and patient with him. After completing 2 sessions, he was able to put his face in the water, blow bubbles, and kick, which for him was an amazing accomplishment. My older 2 kids went from not remembering how to swim after the Covid break, to swimming the length of the pool. They really picked it up fast thanks to the wonderful instructors here. I appreciate that the instructors are kind and patient, yet also firm when needed, and I like that they really push and challenge the kids, especially at the advanced level. The online registration is super easy and signing in on the first day of each session has been a quick and organized process. Finding parking has never been a problem. They even have a vending machine now! Yay! My only suggestions would be: 1. to sell sunblock at the front desk, or even in the vending machine for all of us forgetful parents, 2. to add step stools in the restrooms so that little ones can reach the sinks to wash their hands, and 3. to offer advanced swimming classes in the mornings during the school year for us homeschoolers, please, please! Also, not sure if it is even possible, but hoping in the future they might form some kind of competitive junior swim team? This is the only place I would go if you want your kids actually swimming. We tried another place in Rancho and the class is repetitive with little to no growth or challenge. At RSL they safely and positively encourage and challenge my kids. I wasted money and time having my kids attend the other place. My oldest learned how to swim in 2 weeks with Ms. Rene at the, age of 2, years ago. My younger only attended the other place and could still not swim at age 9, so we went back to RSL, which I should have done sooner. I'm so glad we're back, because on day 1 both my girls moved up and can already swim better than what they learned for an entire summer last year at the other place!! 100% over, RSL Aquatics is THE PLACE!!! read more

I just want to say this place is amazing if you are really trying to teach your child how to swim I have been here since February and my daughter has learned so much! She started with being afraid of the water and now she can't wait until she goes to swimming lessons. Her instructor was Miss Sage and she is amazing with her! Then she went to Miss Alexis who is also fantastic. They have worked with me so well to get her to swim and be comfortable! Dave is fantastic constantly coming outside checking on things ,Rene is outstanding she is always greeting with a smile and the whole place is just amazing and outstanding! Great vibes , customer service is perfect, they make sure your kid is succeeding in each class they are in and if not they will explain to do at home things that will help your child out! Our girls (5 and 3) had no exposure whatsoever to swimming or a pool. They were scared (absolutely terrified) of getting in the water, especially getting their face wet. Lessons started off with a ton of screaming and crying - Rene and team knew exactly how to handle the situation. Rene spent some 1:1 time with each of my daughters; gained trust and made them feel safe, which allowed them overcome their fears. Both girls have made tremendous progress. 5 yr old has moved up to intermediate class and 3 yr old is super comfortable getting her face wet, blowing bubbles, kicking, and jumping in. This might seem simple to most but this is a major accomplishment for our extremely stubborn, strong-willed girls. All the instructors are extremely patient and kind. They know exactly how much to push and how handle their personalities. If your kids are like ours, do NOT give up. Trust the method, trust RSL!
