The photos I saw had this retro style, had wonderful contrast and I found there was always warmth in their subjects. When my husband and I met up with Jessica, she made us both feel at ease, as we've never had our photos taken professionally together before. MY ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHER CANCELED ON ME AT 10:30AM THE MORNING OF MY WEDDING. Andrea came to the rescue and I ended up with higher quality photos than I would have with the original photographer!! When I got the news, my family and I were scrambling. Everywhere we tried to find a photographer with such short notice was leading to a dead end. You can imagine that it was really starting to put quite the damper on my wedding day. But 30 minutes later, I'm signing a new contract with Andrea, on what was CLEARLY her day off. She swooped in with the upmost grace and professionalism. It was pouring rain and 90 degrees outside but she LITERALLY SAVED THE DAY anyway. Andrea could have taken advantage of this situation. She knew I was in a bind and that she was my only hope. Many people in this industry would have taken that opportunity, but not Andrea. Rather than surcharging me, which I was willing to accept, she kept us in our budget. Heaven sent. The quality of the photos speaks for itself, but beyond that -- Andrea KNEW what she was doing. To the point that I was actually grateful that my original photographer didn't work out. She showed up early, got the shot with my makeup artist just before she left, and worked so seamlessly with my videographer despite having JUST MET HIM that it was practically like they were in business together. I've seen some shots she got just from the preview pics and it's incredible how much she captured without me even realizing she was there. There are up-close pictures of my husband and me during our ceremony, yet somehow there are ALSO aerial views from upstairs during our ceremony. HOW DOES SHE DO IT?! That's just straight up magic. Andrea has such a kind and gentle way about her, which was so refreshing in a sea of absolute chaos that is your wedding day. The photos are absolutely gorgeous I AM NOT WORTHY!! We met with Jocelyn Voo over Zoom before moving forward with working with her for our special day as our photographer and our witness. Jocelyn was absolutely outstanding for more reasons than one. Firstly, we felt that she really "GOT" us, from start to finish. She listened to our vision (dark, moody, candid, casual, gritty) and as wild as some of our ideas were, she totally leaned in and delivered exactly what we were looking for! Secondly, when you're eloping just the two of you, having a third person present is intimidating; what if it's awkward? What if the vibes are weird? But Jocelyn was an absolute joy to spend time with! I'd go so far as to say that her presence made the day even more special. She asked us about our love story, she joked around with us, and seemed genuinely interested in who we were as people. This also impacted the photos, as you can see how comfortable we are and how much fun we're having. Third, Jocelyn is an expert at her craft, although not pretentiously so. Her website offers so much guidance on how the elopement process works. Her emails with us gave us contacts for who to reach out to for certain steps (We took pictures in the lobby of the Beekman and had to have permission granted; something we certainly wouldn't have known!) Not only did we consider Jocelyn our photographer, but our guide in the process of eloping. She also is an expert in that her photo-taking does not appear obvious! I was worried about having professional pictures taken of me in public, but onlookers barely noticed as Jocelyn very naturally pulled her camera out and snapped pictures. He was very encouraging and I felt a bit like a model in a movie -- with him saying "beautiful" "give me more smile" and cheering me on. It was more tiring than I thought but he was great at getting me to relax and for this price, the least expensive I found, cash only, you cannot do better. Plus, my shots look like me! Which all my acting teachers say is a must. Not some wind blown over touched plastic. Lastly, unlike so many other studios I looked into, Klaus burns you a disk right then and there with ALL of the images after you've reviewed them so you are sure you like them. So you can get them printed as you wish. The other studios often would take 2 WEEKS! to burn a disk.

I have done it before with boudoir photographers, but didn't really like any of the resulting pictures because I probably am overly critical of myself, like a lot of women. I modelled when I was much younger, but only parade and never photographic work, except for catalogue, so AWKWARD is the only way I could describe my feelings leading up to the event. I am a bit shy and not a poser, so it wasn't natural for me. Bret is a gentleman and kind of works with what look you are after - even if you do not know how to do it! We met at a very upscale midtown location of my choosing, and he prefers morning light. I have seen other photos he has taken and hoped for the best. During the session, he asks if you like certain shots and shows them to you - if you have no idea how you look, this is good and you are involved in the outcome. But what I can say to you.....always trust your photographer. How you see yourself is not always how others see you and the shot Bret liked the most I was on the fence with. Needless to say, I went with him. Male photographers see a lot of beautiful women and they probably know better than us. You think? I am 100% happy with my ultimate picture and every woman needs to know she looks like that in the end. What an awesome feeling. I will definitely use Bret again.
