This CPA firm's lack of staff retention makes maintaining a relationship with your tax/financial professional extremely difficult. Equal or superior services exist at many other companies at more reasonable fees. read more

History

Established in 2007.

The Texas Board of Accountancy required that our Lubbock office operate under its former name of Pratas, Smith & Moore, which joined us in 2007, up until our official name change to RPC CPAs + Consultants in November of 2015. Our Lubbock team is diverse in both the expertise of our professionals and the industries they serve. Lubbock is home to our large TPA practice, which provides third party administration services for employee benefit plans. Jimmy Pendergrass, CPA leads both the Lubbock team and the tax practice for RPC CPAs + Consultants. From agriculture to oil and gas, to nonprofits and individuals, Jimmy and his team provide a deep well of knowledge and industry understanding for the benefit of our clients.

Meet the Business Owner: Ray R.

A founding partner of RPC CPAs + Consultants, LLP, Ray is based in the Albuquerque office and serves as the firm's Managing Partner. Before forming RPC CPAs + Consultants, Ray worked for an international accounting firm. More at home in a sport shirt and khakis than in a suit and tie, Ray is known and regarded for his straightforward and unassuming manner. Both clients and team members appreciate his approach.

The final issue that pushed me to close all of my accounts was their mishandling of a vehicle insurance situation. I had active insurance coverage and provided documentation--multiple times, including physically delivering it to their office where it was signed for. Despite this, they failed to process it correctly and attempted to backdate and charge me for force-placed insurance. Instead of resolving their internal mistake, they continued to request the same information again, creating unnecessary delays and financial stress. This is not an isolated issue. I have also dealt with repeated "fraud" flags that were never properly investigated or explained. Even worse, my debit cards were shut off multiple times with no notification whatsoever--no call, no text, no email. There were no suspicious transactions, no explanation--just suddenly being unable to access my own money. That is completely unacceptable. On top of that, interactions with staff across multiple branches have been consistently disappointing. There is a clear lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service. At times, the tone has been dismissive and unhelpful, especially when trying to resolve serious account issues. For an institution that claims to be "for people, not profit," my experience has been the exact opposite. The level of disorganization, lack of follow-through, and disregard for customers' time and finances is alarming. I have since closed all of my accounts and would strongly caution others--especially small business owners--before trusting Alliance Credit Union with their finances.
