Great camping spot at a well maintained property not far from Theodore Roosevelt NP. They are on…read morethe little Missouri and they have a trail head to the Maah Daah Hey trail. There are kind of three sections: First section is an open area for RV with utilities, next is an area for camping with horses and stalls, and the last area (where we stayed) is a forest area with much vegetation and no utilities. The forest area is close to a very small and summer mosquito creek. All have a picnic table and fire pit. Where we stayed with our 25' RV was very tight and the entry says no higher than 10' which we are 12'. We brushed trees and shrubs, and we were not the only ones to manage to squeeze in. Not for large RV's in the forest area. Booking can be done online and on-site, but it was full during our September visit. Someone even tried to take our site with the reserved sign noting it was taken. No issues and they moved on. There is a shower house, bathrooms, dump station, water and trash. Good place to stay and hike especially while the National Park was closed to camping. It is down a 1/2 mile gravel road and a state ranger station and camp host are on site.

Badlands is a beautiful park but everything that makes it unique returns to a single substance,…read morewater. Here at Sully Creek State Park you can see an active stream of water eroding part of the Badlands. The Little Missouri River erodes each part of its surroundings including the stones. Which gave my husband, Peter, and Esther a great experience skipping rocks on the water. This river gives the animals around a source of water. We have seen deer and a fox while simply driving into this park. This is definitely a great place to touch, view, and experience the river that has been shaping this landscape for thousands of years.

Solid spot to crash for the night. I came here on a whim and luckily they had a cabin left. It's…read moredefinitely in the middle of absolutely nowhere ND. It's the smallest county seat in the country? The cabin was amazing and comfy- super quaint and clean inside. They also have an awesome bar on site if you'd like to head down into the "bunker bar" for a drink. I'm pretty sure everyone from the whole town was in the bar. Friendly folks no complaints. Saw the prettiest sunset of my life right there at their spot among the grasslands.

Don't even. Cold rainy day And thought we would push through for an extra hour drive to stay here…read more Knew we would be getting in close to, if not after dark. Owner gave us the spot number and said to call if issues. Got there after dark. Super SUPER small. Rvs that were there we're practically on top of each other. There was someone in the spot that had been assigned to us so we called the owner. No answer. Waited and called again. No answer. It looked like there was ONE other spot open but hard to tell so we called one more time and still no answer. (We had left a message each time we called.) by this time we had no choice, in the dark, in the cold, in the rain, to drive BACK an hour to the closest rv park. Finally after OVER 45 minutes since we had FIRST called, the owner called us back and said someone had parked in our spot but we could have taken "any other spot"... any other spot? You mean the ONE spot that appeared to be open but how were we to know someone else wasn't going to show up and find us in their spot?? Great way to NOT run a business, not to mention the danger of us driving down dark backroads for an hour in the rain to get back to the nearest well lit, well maintained, well run rv park. Funny because even though we had called that rv park after hours in our haste to find a place to stay for the night, someone answered right away and went through their reservations to find us an open spot and arrange for us to have a place. in a nutshell, Abidon was a joke. Stay away.
